What's crazy about Zero Escape is I don't think any of the characters are intended to be autistic but all of them are EXTREMELY autistic to a comical degree. Akane's autism makes her extremely silly and charming to me, and to a degree I think her autism has affected her intensity in her pursuit of what she believes is right via saving the world over herself, while also adding to her backstory of having grown up as a lonely child who didn't know how to understand other people socially (with only one friend! Who is also extremely autistic!) and as an adult she largely masks herself as a cute and sweet girl, but can't hold herself back from explaining her more eccentric interests because no matter how much she tries to hide it, her trauma and circumstances and autism all combine into who she is right then and in the future, a future she considers constantly :')
