So can I ask the pro-series fans a legitimate question?
How do you get past the whole emotional/mental torture and manipulation thing and still think Mobius is a good character?
How do you watch and listen to Sylvie talk down to Loki all of the time and you don't think their relationship is toxic?
How do you hear Mike Waldron and Kate Herron talk about how they didn't watch any of the previous movies and they don't know anything about Loki nor do they respect him as a character, and you still think that they are good writers and directors?
How do you watch Loki be portrayed as incredibly OOC and think that he is in character?
How do you hear that Tom was brought on as a consultant and an executive producer and none of his ideas or guidance was listened to and you don't feel cheated?
How can you know all of this and still think that this is a good show?
...
Like I'm legit asking.
Answering this seriously.
To be honest, I just don’t take the show personally. Maybe I’m just shallow/have been put off by rabid fandom in the past but to me, a show is just a show and nothing more.
In terms of the Loki series itself, I don’t think it’s the best but I also don’t think it’s the worst. I think the show’s weaknesses were mostly due to pacing and what they chose to focus on in specific episodes. The pacing for episode 1 and 2 were fine but I think it started to feel rushed starting in episode 3. Trying to introduce Sylvie and her backstory, Kang, the other Loki Variants, how the Sacred Timeline works, etc. just felt too much in the span of the remaining 4 episodes. I think if the series had 2 more episodes and let each plot point breathe and simmer a bit, I think it would’ve been improved. I think it suffered the same way as GoT season 8 did in that they just tried to hit certain plot points in order to establish what MCU phase 4 was going to be about.
As for Mobius and Sylvie, I like both characters. As I said previously, I view a show as just a show and is just a work of fiction. If I viewed all the movies and shows that I like with the same lens that I view and critique society, I wouldn’t enjoy anything at all. Some people can hate Mobius and Sylvie for their problematic aspects but that also wouldn’t be fair considering what Loki has done prior to to the show.
I guess my personal take is that after having been stung by Game of Thrones and Star Wars, I learned just to watch entertainment at face value and not get too invested/read too much into things. But then again, I never really considered myself a Loki fangirl prior to the show so idk, I’m not as aware of any mischaracterizations that previous movies set up in the past. I saw you tag this as Lokius and sure I like the ship, but I’m not naive and expect Disney/Marvel to do anything about it. It’s entertainment in my eyes and would rather keep it within fanon rather than canon.Â
I guess my point is that I just watch it for entertainment and am not emotionally invested in it as much as other people are. Idk if I’m just an older fan who’s seen how crazy fandom could be in the past but I think I’m just tired of how people could be fucking weird.Â
Eh, fair enough.
You gotta admit though that the show trying to make it seem like mentally/emotionally torturing someone with their own trauma and then gaslighting them into thinking it's not important or that they're not important is super fucking damaging and a really dangerous message to send to people.
Fiction is how we learn to understand the world and society, it's what teaches us sympathy and empathy.
Especially considering the majority of Loki fans relate to him because they went through similar trauma and then watching the studio they've invested so much time in say "Actually your trauma isn't important enough to address and you should just get over it" is super toxic at the very least.
So I think yes and no. Yes, fiction is one of the ways we can learn more about the world, however I think it’s dangerous sometimes to depend on it as a way to address our own personal issues.
For example, one of my favorite characters in BBC Sherlock is Mycroft since I can relate to his character in more ways than one. Has watching the show and his character helped me learn more myself? Yes, however I can’t use fiction to determine/validate what exactly I’m currently experiencing. I can only use it as a starting point and from there, do some self-reflection/go to therapy to progress through my journey. I understand why people can relate to Loki, however ultimately in the end, the traumas we face are something that we need to digest and address within ourselves rather than having a show determine it for us. It is even more dangerous considering that a show like Loki is meant to cater to a wide, general audience, so whatever it is the show is trying to convey, it isn’t going to make it as meaningful as some fans hope it might be.

Kate Herron makes it sound like there was never a plan for a second season. So they were just gonna leave all these unresolved plot lines...
There was always a plan for a second season and was hinted even before the show premiered that we were at most going to have 12 episodes however COVID impacted filming and production.Â
Everyone involved on the show knew where this story was going to go and how it was going to be resolved, otherwise if they knew there wasn’t going to be a second season, they wouldn’t have tied the show like that. In terms of what Kate Herron expressed in the interview, it could also sound like she was only supposed to direct the first season and moving forward it will be directed by someone else, especially now that the show has close ties and is super impactful with phase 4 of the MCU.
Can people stop reblogging/spreading that rumored Owen Wilson is bisexual post.
Y’all eat up questionable sources just as easily as boomers on Facebook I swear to god.
There’s a reason why he doesn’t have social media and doesn’t do that many interviews.
And do you want to know why?
It’s because the man was treated for depression and even tried to commit suicide a long time ago.
I don’t know anything about his personal life but clearly the man wants everyone to respect it because it is detrimental to his mental health, which is why he rarely appears in interviews.
So for the love of god, just stop it.
(I’m tagging Lokius because I’ve seen this BS way too much in this tag that I’m so fucking embarrassed sometimes)
So, are there actual Lokius fans who are fine with the finale and excited for what’s next?
I need to know that this tag isn’t just filled with angry/feral shippers because I’m so tired of all the negativity.Â
Also I’m seeing a lot of people freak out over the kiss and the mind-wipe/also getting mad at Marvel/Disney but I feel like a lot of y’all are failing to see the implications?
A betrayal is no joke ( and I’m happy that we didn’t end on that note), especially a betrayal that results to the creation of Kang and I’m pretty sure this is going to change the way that Loki and Sylvie view each other. Also as much as a mind-wiped Mobius (or alternate reality TVA Mobius?) sucks, it opens endless possibilities for both canon and fanon on as to how they’re going to trust and work with each other again? (But also I’m coming from the perspective of someone who knows it’s not going to be canon but I just enjoy their interactions and rely on fanfics to fill the rest).
Also more importantly: THE MULTIVERSE OFFICIALLY BEGINS NOW AND WHY ARE WE SO CAUGHT UP ON SHIPS RATHER THAN THE FACT THAT SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME AND DOCTOR STRANGE ARE GOING TO BE LIT AS FUCK.Â
Okay as a Lokius fan, I’m pretty content with the finale.
For me, I was more concerned about Mobius being the villain (which thankfully did not happen and which meant my theory did not come true) and that he was going to die (which once again, did not happen).
Obviously the mind-wipe thing came out of nowhere but guys, GUYS, I’m super excited because we can get a bunch of wonderful things:
Loki and Mobius meet-cute round 2 (SUPER IMPORTANT BY THE WAY)
Another season of Loki and Mobius working together with their TVA antics
Hunter B-15 is now in the picture to help out and be the true badass she is
But also more importantly, Mobius and Loki’s relationship is not in jeopardy. I like Sylvie a lot but in the eyes of Loki, she basically fucked up everything and now he feels betrayed. Obviously, Mobius doesn’t know his history with Loki now but like I said, meet-cute round 2 and if anything, we can see their relationship grow differently now that the dynamics are different (no more TVA agent vs. variant prisoner, more like colleagues at arms).
Anyways, I’m pretty happy with the finale and I’m SOOOOO fucking pumped for the new direction of the MCU.
who is going to ride or die for me this hard
Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15 Loki | 1.04 “The Nexus Event
I can’t explain this one, fellas.
#I’m crying
Mobius really did say
HUNTER B-15 IS THE BADDEST BITCH OF THEM ALL
that’s it, that’s the post
I honestly can’t wait for all the jealous Mobius fics.
But also:
I’m looking forward to the “pruned” universe fics of a Lokius reunion.
You guys, this is a win-win situation for me and I’m looking forward to refreshing AO3 for the next 6 days.Â
