High Court Highlights Risks of Relying on Private Forensic Reports
The Karnataka High Court has flagged serious concerns over the reliance on private forensic agencies in criminal investigations, particularly in a case filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The case involved allegations of bribery, where voice samples were analyzed by a private forensic agency, Truth Labs, instead of government-certified facilities. Justice V. Srisha-nanda ruled that such procedural lapses undermine the credibility of investigations and dismissed charges against the accused.
