[txt] heyyyyy, Shigino-san! [txt] I was wondering if you were busy this afternoon? [txt] I was thinking it would be a good day to try out those hot springs!
Leaning back heavily on her free hand, she looked the texts over carefully once more before hitting ‘send’, hoping she didn’t sound like she was trying too hard. But hey– it had been his idea, she was just going to use it to celebrate.
What a lovely surprise! Especially as some time after their first parting, Kisumi had finally clocked onto how strange his requests might have seemed, not holding his breath for much of a follow up.
[text] miu chan! ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆ how are you?
[text] that sounds great, i’ll come and pick you up right away!
Ten minutes later
[text] i have no idea where you live δ(´д`; )
People are pretty excited today, huh.

— “The eldest son must behave like a good boy. The eldest son must not be selfish. The eldest son must protect his younger sibling. Being a big brother is such a pain. But… this is my quest, my challenge to myself. I can’t lose face in front of him. Nor can I lose to him. And above all, I can’t betray his expectations. Being a big brother is really such a pain.” - Kominato Ryousuke about his younger brother, Haruichi
A sibling day, huh?
“I hope I get to see him again soon.”

"Ah…?"
[Eyes lifted to the stranger with a hint of confusion. After a moment she returned the bright smile. A hand came up to touch the flowers.]
"…Thank…you…"
“You’re welcome, it looks really pretty in your hair.” Kind of like a blank canvas splashed in colour.
“Are you here all on your own?”

This was it. She had to admit it now, that she was well and truly lost with no hope of ever finding her way back on her own. By now she wasn’t even so sure she was still in Sector 001 anymore (she was). It was obvious by the look on her face that she was wearied and frustrated as she approached the closest person she could find.
"Um, excuse me, but how can I get to District Alpha?"
He looked like a nice enough guy. Surely he could help her right?
There was no shortage of lost and discombobulated souls ambling the streets, which came as a surprise to no one, considering. Concern immediately surged when he’d noticed the girl drawing near, hints of fatigue and stress marring her features. Fortunately, the reason for her accost proved nothing more serious than a bout of directional issues.
“District Alpha huh, sure , that’s the district right next to mine.”
“I can take you there now if you like?”
Honestly, Makoto would have been fine with wandering around a bit before heading back to his new and improved apartment. Being in the fifth sector instead of the third was a huge improvement and he felt far more at ease. That wasn’t even beginning to mention the issue regarding spending more time with his overly friendly companion. Especially when he was being continually called things like cute and exacerbating his current emotional state.
“…whatever you want to do, I’m fine with,” he said after a moment of thought with a faint shrug of his shoulders. As soon as Kisumi had worn himself out he could politely excuse himself without further worry.
Until then he would do his due diligence being a good escort and do whatever it was Kisumi wanted. Assuming they could come to a decision at all.
“Ok well...should we go and check out the stalls then? They have games and food and those kind of things.”
Killing many birds with one stone, in an area where they could both have fun while being a stone’s throw away from something to eat when they got hungry; which for Kisumi, was fairly often especially when anything sweet was involved.
Trying his hardest to shoulder Mako’s vexingly obvious disinterest, he motioned for the other to follow him into the festive mob.
“I'm pretty sure they were somewhere arou--Ah, over there!”
Excitement laced his words at the sight of the rows of vendors, each serving a different multitude of treats and with games ranging from shooting targets to fishing goldfish out of tiny ponds.
“Let’s go!”
Makoto wasn’t exactly thrilled with how things played out, of course. The bugs had made a fool of him and he didn’t even have an excuse like Kisumi did. He’d come with him to this flower festival to prove simply that everything was fine, and normal between them.
It kind of wasn’t.
As soon as he felt something on his head he jumped nearly a foot off the ground. Turning to see if was simply the pink haired boy, Makoto forced himself to relax, although it didn’t work as well as it might otherwise have.
“Ah… thanks” he said, with a pause, not entirely sure what to do now. “So… what first?”
“You look really cute Makoto, it suits you.”
Taking a few steps back, Kisumi took a moment to admire his handiwork from afar, having devoted quite a bit of his (lacking) artistic efforts into the creation of the crowns for both of them. They weren't perfect, but they were good enough.
The fact Makoto occasionally exuded vibes of tension, was simply rendered down to possible embarrassment for the heated couch session a few weeks prior. Personally, it caused him no discomfort but--he was far from being the shy soul his friend was.
“Well, there’s a maze that offers free ice cream if you can get out”
“Or there’s a merry-go-round and some shopping stalls further on ahead? What do you want to do?”
thetachibanana
“Mako chaaan!” Kisumi flapped the floral coronet high above his head, near destroying it with the vigour of his actions.
Right, flowers were delicate material that didn't survive long being used as an incentive for your ex-boyfriend friend to notice you. A friend who currently, was either ignoring him or couldn't hear his voice over the general brouhaha of festival goers.
Creeping up behind the other teenager with all the stealth of a pink panther, he crowned the olive tresses in the same white and yellow blossoms that had been woven into his own hair.
“There.”
“I got us matching ones!”
