✅Quick update from me — I’m doing really well and feeling stronger every day. In fact, I’ve now taken up doing 100 sit-ups a day. That’s right. ONE. HUNDRED. DAILY. My abs are starting to think I’m training for a Marvel movie, but really I’m just trying to sit up without sounding like an old couch spring.

✅On a more serious note, while recovery is going well (and I’m grateful beyond words), I’m still facing ongoing medical costs. Rehab, treatments, and the million other little things that come with a brain injury recovery journey add up faster than my dodgy old DJ playlists.

🙏I had a positive visit at the Duke University ALS Clinical this week, with my ALSFRS-R scores remaining stable across most areas, including mobility and daily function. However, my lung capacity has declined, placing me at a critical juncture in my health over the next six months. If my breathing capacity decreases further, I will need to undergo surgery for a feeding tube.

Unfortunately, my current assisted living facility at Brookdale is unable to accommodate residents with feeding tubes. To ensure a seamless transition when the time comes, I have already begun searching for a skilled nursing facility that can provide the necessary care. I understand that this next level of care will come at a higher cost, but my priority is to maintain a life of quality, dignity, and well-being.

I am a US Army disabled veteran. I am now in need of a kidney transplant. I have not been able to work a regular job since my kidneys failed. I believe I am a victim of the FT. McClellan ground poisoning, you can google how bad it is. The VA is aware of it but refuses to help.
