LaGuardia (2018) // Dark Horse Comics

The series follows a Nigerian-American woman named Future as she navigates a society in which aliens live among humans on Earth. A smuggled alien plant and strange complications related to her pregnancy are just some of the challenges Future will face.

Nnedi Okorafor has won multiple awards in the sci-fi and fantasy space, including both a Hugo and a Nebula Award for the novella Binti. She has also recently published her first comics work in an issue of Marvel’s Black Panther & The Crew, which was illustrated by LaGuardia artist Ford. Ford is best known for her work on Marvel’s Silk, as well as for work on Gwenpool, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Jem and the Holograms.

Hey, me and Stef are now engaged! It was seven years ago on Friday that we had our first date and Stef completely surprised me out of the blue by asking me to marry him! Both of our mums loudly exclaimed “Well, it’s about time!” when we called them with the good news, so I think that’s a blessing all round.
