dont sweat the small stuff- and it's all small stuff

good morning tumblr,

lately i've been reading a lot of self-improvement books such as "don't sweat the small stuff" by richard carlson. i have never read a book such as this one in that it is so easy for my brain to absorb carlson's wisdom. broken up into short, easy to digest chapters, carlson helps readers realized the way that we, as humans, love to overreact & make issues seem bigger than they are. my absolute favorite self-help book so far!

if you feel like you don’t know yourself, i recommend keeping one notebook in that you put everything. thoughts, quotes you like, cool art work, postcards, to do lists, diary entries, reviews of books, tv shows, lists of things to to, places to travel or stuff to buy, playlists, moodboards, trackers, pictures, sticky notes, tickets of any kind, shadow work, letters, dried flowers or leaves, brain dumps, gratitude and plans. everything. while in the process of filling this journal you will get a sense of yourself, of things you like and little bits you didn’t know about yourself before, esp. once you reread old entries or look at old photos.

An amazing read about self-reflection and the importance of moving on. This book includes various exercises to help clear emotional clutter through breathing exercises and meditations. One of my favorite self-help books.
