“SANTOR SALDITH IS YOUR FATHER?!?!?!?!” ~ literally everyone who has ever met karyia, ever
(if case you don’t know, he’s the host of a popular celebrity talk show)
it’s hella annoying but also frustrating b/c she has a lot of issues w/ what her dad does
okay so it was one thing when she was a kid and velorum nocate was more settled but there’s so much wrong with the world and it frustrates her that her dad continues to focus on silly things even when he has important guests on his show
and she knows that part of it is to stay safe, b/c the quasars have a v low tolerance for anyone who question anything at all about the way they do things, but there’s still so much good that her dad could do w/o upsetting the quasars and yet he’s still much more concerned with who wore it best
this is a major sense of tension between karyia and her dad but despite that, they really do love each other lots
karyia’s mom was kinda a flake and she’s been man hoping for the past twenty years
she shows up every now and again
it’s always been long enough that she doesn’t recognize karyia
despite her dad’s focus on more superficial things, he’s always been there for karyia
he wishes she was more about the arvorian social scene
tbh karyia’s never really liked arvor
she’s more of a vaane person tbh
but she spends a lot of her time on reva especially after the plague b/c they need help
she’s uses her money and influence to help ppl there who have been affected by this disaster
she met the turels there and became close w/ both hera and asha
hera’s kinda the mom she never had and asha is def like a sister
basically is lowkey obsessed with revian healers and hera has been teaching her (and kinda asha too but asha’s less interested)
during the worst of the plague, sandith made karyia return home for a few months
she took asha with her to keep her out of danger too
tbh that was kinda a bad move b/c now asha is kinda in love with arvor/the quasars/that lifestyle aka basically everything karyia’s rebelled against her entire life
she sees that asha spent wayyy too much time with rora savik and has a totally romanticised idea of life in the capital
now this whole subject is a tense one between herself and asha too smh
PASSIONATE (to the point of being obsessive tbh)
kinda walks the line of being tolerant and intolerant tbh
she’s known a lot of stupid assholes growing up in arvor and can be prejudiced and idk there’s some ppl who she won’t give the chance of day if they disagree w/ her but there’s def others who she will listen to
in the same respect, def acts superior to some ppl while she’s also the first to admit she def doesn’t have all the answers to others
she won’t let you down if she’s promised something
if she believes in something, she’s gonna see it to the end
can be very charismatic!!!
def used to think that if you bring ppl together, you can do anything!!
but is def more jaded now that she’s older
still she thinks that communication can go a long way
if she feels it, she says it
a natural leader and she’ll step up when needed
she def used to be overly idealistic
has problems making tough decisions
ANALYZES ALL OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF HER ACTIONS IN THESE INSTANCES and will go back and forth
literally hates being stuck between a rock and a hard place tbh
