OHHH A KASAMATSU GIRLIE ???
YESSSSS~ HE'S MY FAV!! (alongside Midorima)
i crocheted kise!!
i quit crocheting bobble heads and dolls for a while because hair is a pain in the ass to crochet and sew (absolutely miserable experience. 0/100000) but i had an old base head lying around and i had some yellow scrap yarn i wanted to finish up so... (the eyes are wayyy off because i didn't have yarn anywhere close to his eye color and his eyeliner(?) didn't quite turn out the way i hoped but oh well)
i also have some purple and green scrap yarn so stay tuned for murasakibara and midorima ig
can you blame him?
Was it casual when he called you another miracle and said your presence in the lives of him and his friends was fate
Can I say what's been on my mind for a while?
I think Shuutoku is the real rival of the series.
Not Touou, not Rakuzan.
Shuutoku.
You can even say Shuutoku, and particularly Midorima, is the secondary protagonist.
Let me explain :) *pulls out a board filled with red strings* So :)))
Out of all the schools with a Generation of Miracles member, Shuutoku is the only one with no emotional stake to them, except the fact that the second years lost to them the previous year because they lost Kiyoshi and there's Midorima, one of the GoM.
Kuroko is close with Aomine (and kinda Kise), and Akashi is the reason he found out his style of basketball. So Touou, Kaijou, and Rakuzan already have high stakes to them for Kuroko personally.
Yosen is a bit different because it's more emotionally staked to Kagami. Because Kuroko does not get along well with Murasakibara (and even after getting defeated, Murasakibara didn't change much, really) so the series introduced Himuro.
Shuutoku, on the other hand? Kuroko is also not really that close to Midorima, so nothing really had stake in that area. But what do they have instead?
Opposition. The "natural enemy", if you will.
Our two main characters are Kagami and Kuroko.
Kagami is known to be able to jump high, rivaled with Midorima, whose shooting style defies the law of physics–I mean shoots really fucking high.
Kuroko's whole thing is his misdirection, the fact that his presence is really low, people don't tend to notice him, so enter Takao, who has the ability to see him even outside of court.
And then there's the fact that Seirin fought against Shuutoku twice, technically thrice or more if we count the training camp. Yes, they also fought Touou and Kaijou twice, but those stakes are different. So already, Shuutoku is the school we see the most of after Seirin.
There's also the character development. Midorima didn't change much from when they're in Teikou. In fact, he's the one working the hardest, often seen practicing after everyone else leaves (except Takao who decided to accompany him), as opposed to the other three whose grown compliant and Akashi whose all about he never loses. It also didn't help the fact that, when the others get new abilities when they're about to lose *coughcoughzonecoughcough* Midorima instead learn teamwork.
Hm, a character who started as arrogant and selfish, who is so sure of himself, slowly learns to trust his teammates and that he can't win alone? Sounds like a typical protagonist character development to me.
Have you ever realized that? The others, even Kagami, ultimately is dependant on themselves, but Midorima is the only one who actually embody teamwork *screams about the sky direct 3p shot*.
Hell, the Shuutoku vs Rakuzan have the same vibe as Seirin vs Touou.
There's a reason why Midorima and Takao are the only duo officially called the "Light and Shadow" in the series.
Anyway, Shuutoku is my school and I will continue crying over Midorima and Takao being the only two left of the original starter, goodbye ✌️
Someone also realized it too! And i love how in-depth you explained. This made me love Shuutoku even more🤧 (they're also my favorite school)

Thank the above for "x reader", never-ending fics and dedicated writers who feeds the community. I prayed for times like this...
*sigh* I've never thought I'll even have to say this publicly but seeing people trying so hard to prove that Midorima's relationship with his ex-teammates is on the same level of closeness as Shuutoku never fails to make me laugh my brain out. Because seriously it's just not and it can never be. I'll prove it later in this post but for now let me go straight to the point: Teikou was where my green princess was treated below the bare minimum and Shuutoku was where they gave him much more than what he'd ever thought he needed.
First and foremost, you don't even have to overanalyze anything to realize this since Kise himself did literally say that when they were in the same team, Midorima had NEVER EVER performed a shot like Sky Direct 3-Pointer and that fact alone was more than enough to prove that even BEFORE all the Teikou conflicts happened, Midorima had never trusted anyone as much as he did to his teammates at Shuutoku.
Also, no offense to the rest of the GoM but the reason I can never bring myself to look at Midorima's relationship with them in a positive way is that they'd never treated him in the way he wanted. Oha Asa took up a huge part in his way of doing everything humanly possible and even his way of living in general. And although it's funny to us readers, to Midorima it's still a serious belief that he'd never abandoned despite how many stages of character development he'd gone through until the end of KnB. And yet his Teikou fellows always made light of it and talked about his ideal as if it was something so wrong to believe in (and until the very end of this series, they still had never shown any sign of changing their way of thinking about this). Just as every reader can clearly see and yap about so much, Midorima always cared about his ex-teammates in his own eccentric way - such as in the panels below, he even watched Oha Asa for Aomine's sign and didn't even hide his worry when the latter was ranked last - but, "give us a break with that crap," this was always, ALWAYS the treatment he got in return. Again, I'm not saying the others were the bad guys in this relationship since this is just a matter of miscommunication. But if you try putting yourself in Midorima's position, you'll understand how annoyed he felt every time the thing he believed in was looked down on like this (which he did express in chapter 180 backstory when he talked to Takao for the first time and got laughed at for this same thing for the nth time in his life).
I don't know to what extend did Midorima really understand his ex-teammates (which I believe he didn't because I don't even know which topics he discussed with Akashi, who he claimed to be the closest in the team, that made him, even after 3 years together, still unable to truly understand what the red head was thinking and can only provide minimal information when being asked about his family, also he didn't even make any effort to understand why Kuroko chose Seirin, and just downright talked shit about the Shadow not trying his best to choose his high school team which he thought was Kuroko's way of looking down on him as an opponent on the court). But it's undeniable that no one in Teikou was able to understand Midorima nor give him what he needed. And the fact that he did try in his own way to connect with them during middle school doesn't mean he had ever felt really at ease when playing together with them, not with that relentless miscommunication that made them talk shit about his belief whenever he brought it up. And this made what Kise said about his Sky Direct 3-Pointer in chapter 180 make sense even more. Midorima had never completely trusted anyone at Teikou because of that kind of treatment he got in return for the way he cared about his ex-teammates, and his trust issues just got even worse during the 3rd year when the conflicts happened.
One thing I realized when re-reading the Teikou arc was that every GoM member's issues were always emphasized at some points. Kise and the way he heard the sound of the wind, Aomine and the way he desperately tried to find a worthy opponent, Akashi and all the burden on his shoulder both at school and at home. As for Murasakibara, him skipping practice was enough to let his struggle be known to people. And yet Midorima was the only one whose problems were all depicted in a very subtle way, not to mention he himself was always completely silent about all of his problems. From his struggle to connect with people to his trust issues that did not only began when they started to fall apart, but had in reality always been there since forever. Moreover, although it was typical of the Midorima I know to still continued practicing harder than anyone even after everything that happened, but it WAS also one of the primary reasons why his mental issues were always downplayed so much. Ironically it's mainly his diligence that has tricked people into thinking that still having the spirit to continue practice meant that Midorima wasn't affected much by the conflicts.
And after realizing this, I just felt even more annoyed when people keep using tsundere to sugarcoat the way they forbid Midorima from expressing his true self forever. I mean considering his character development in the Shuutoku vs Rakuzan match - the way he wasn't even hesitate to let the whole court know how much he loved Shuutoku - it's clearly that tsundere wasn't simply his gap moe but also his coping mechanism after all of his sufferings. And tsundere just can't be used as an excuse forever because the way Midorima expressed his love for Shuutoku in this match was so loud that even his Teikou teammates who never truly understood him could realize it. In other words, if you can't see any sign of Midorima Shintarou loving you, then it's not because he's a tsundere but simply because he doesn't love you, at least not as much as he did for Shuutoku.
Again about the fact that no one understood Midorima during middle school, when re-reading chapters 60 and 62, I found it pretty funny that even Kagami, who had never been the green-haired's teammate once in his life and had just known about Midorima's existence for like 1 or 2 months, understood him more than Kuroko had ever done. Like, Midorima did try to help both Kagami and Kuroko at the training camp but how the hell was Kagami the only one to realize it on his own, while Kuroko (the first one to get Midorima's advice) had absolutely no idea about it until Kagami explained his own case??? (Takao also watched that 1-on-1 match and got it right at the moment but it was obvious since he was Midorima's translator anyway) At this point I just can't find any excuse anymore. The Teikou fellows just never wanted to understand this poor green boy nor did they ever try to do anything to connect with him in the first place lol.
If you still think Midorima really enjoyed playing with Teikou as much as he did with Shuutoku and that these two bonds were equally strong or whatever kind of comparison you wanna make, then I'm gladly providing you with the tutorial on how to treat a Midorima Shintarou. The first time they talked to each other was the only time Takao had ever laughed at Midorima's superstition. And after that? Despite how annoyed they felt, the Shuutoku teammates had never ever dumbed Midorima's belief down as "crap" or anything "stupid". They just simply accepted him and respected his ideal as long as he did everything humanly possible. And they even went as far as giving him everything they had that could possibly be his lucky item of the day. Moreover when I think about the fact that Takao and the senpai trio all had niche hobbies (*) and yet they were still very open about it to each other, of course there was no way they'd talk that way about Midorima's belief in Oha Asa.
(*) Takao loved trading cards, Miyaji was an idol otaku, Ootsubo loved knitting and Kimura loved watching wrestling. I'm saying these hobbies were niche because late 2000s - early 2010s was the time when the otaku culture hadn't been as widely respected as it is now. It was also the time when knitting wasn't considered a normal hobby for boys either.
TL;DR: I don't care whatever y'all talk about Midorima in Teikou. But don't, just don't try to dumb Shuutoku bond down to the same level as the way he was treated in middle school. If you say these two relationships were equal, then I'll assume you understand absolutely nothing about my princess.
Lollipop Murasakibara at production camp🙈🥹
This is so cute~ I'm jealous >_<
What is it with Kansai boys who play sports that just know their connections—?
Hanamiya is not from Kansai, but he’s a literal sadist.
For those who still claim that Hiori is a sadist has never met Hanamiya.
Exactly!!
I feel like I miss you
˚✧₊🎐⁺✧༚ Kasamatsu Yukio x reader
4 , 1824 : Pure fluff
✧ The reader is the president of the school newspaper club | She has a big fat crush on Kasamatsu | Kasamatsu is just super shy | fluff. ✧ part 2 of this ✧
After a few days, the news had spread everywhere. The commotion had already died down, but no one had forgotten. With a sports team as popular as theirs, there was no way that secret could remain only between them and the girls.
Truthfully, no one had expected to hear something like that. The president had always carried herself with seriousness and unwavering dedication toward her studies. Of course, she sometimes went out with her friends, but it had never affected her grades.
At first, the young girl felt deeply uncomfortable with the situation. Her friends apologized, but it was already too late, their words had already been overheard. As the hours passed, she began noticing whispers and glances directed toward her during breaks. She understood perfectly well. Those boys could never keep their mouths shut.
On his side, Kasamatsu had not been given a single moment of peace. Every chance they got, the boys teased him. Every remark carried a double meaning, and lunchtime conversations revolved around nothing else. No matter how much he yelled at them or pretended it did not bother him, the redness at the tips of his ears betrayed him. That information could have remained “secret” if Kise and Moriyama had not talked about it in front of a group of girls. Those boys seriously could never shut up.
That afternoon had been drowned in rain. The young girl sat at the bus stop, her head resting against the glass panel. Raindrops struck endlessly behind her, creating a soft melody. Her bag had been carelessly dropped beside her, and she sat there annoyed and exhausted after her phone battery had decided to die on her.
Most of the students had already gone home, but she had stayed behind to finish writing the next school newspaper issue that was supposed to come out the following month. So there she was, alone on the bench of the bus stop. As if her dead phone was not enough, she had also forgotten her umbrella.
She closed her eyes, lulled by the sound of the rain. Cars passed in front of her one after another, yet there was still no sign of the bus.
Her week had been completely turned upside down. She deserved a proper rest to end such a long, grey Friday.
Each beneath their own umbrella, he and Kise walked out of the school while talking. Kasamatsu had not noticed the silhouette sitting under the bus shelter, but Kise had, and he recognized her immediately. Kise glanced back at his captain with a grin at the corner of his lips, already plotting something. Unfortunately, all he could do was hope his captain would finally make a move.
« I just remembered I had to go see a friend… take the bus without me! See ya ! »
Kasamatsu understood perfectly well that the idiot was talking nonsense, but before he could even say anything, Kise had already run off.
He walked toward the bus stop and closed his umbrella.
That was when he saw her.
Caught off guard, he cursed under his breath, momentarily thrown off balance. The girl quickly recognized the boy’s voice beside her. She opened her eyes at once and looked up at him.
He stood to her right, stiff and painfully tense. His brows were furrowed, and anyone could have mistaken him for annoyed, but the blush spreading across his cheeks gave him away immediately.
She straightened slightly, smoothing out her skirt before letting out a sigh and turning her head away, fully aware that he was not the only one blushing.
Now the two of them were waiting for a bus that seemed determined never to come.
Kasamatsu tried to appear relaxed, but his irritation kept slipping through. He had even sat down beside her. On the opposite side of the bench, sure, but it changed nothing. He checked the time every two minutes, his foot endlessly tapping against the wet pavement. Minutes passed. Five, then ten, then fifteen. Still nothing.
Without her phone, the president could do absolutely nothing, not even call someone. Even if she did not live very far from the school, she could not walk home without an umbrella. The rain was far too heavy, and getting sick was simply out of the question.
The young girl knew her only solution was to speak to Kasamatsu.
Gathering her courage, she reminded herself she was only doing this for her own sake. Besides, it was not exactly a huge deal that he knew she liked him. Right?
« Excuse me… »
Kasamatsu stiffened even more. His foot stopped moving and his eyes widened slightly. He was painfully aware of how awkward he was around girls, but he could never let it show that easily, especially not as the captain of such a respected team. He did not want her to see how flustered he was, especially after such a good article written by her hands.
« Could you check if there are any updates about the bus, please? Unfortunately, my phone ran out of battery, so I can’t do anything… »
The president had always been polite. It was probably one of the main reasons teachers appreciated her so much. And unsurprisingly, it had quite the effect on the captain too, considering he had always had a weakness for serious and well mannered girls.
He answered with a nod and a tiny « yeah. »
The glow of his phone illuminated his reddened face, and the young girl could not stop herself from looking at him. His hair. His brows. His flushed cheeks.
Memories resurfaced one after another. Every time her friends invited her to basketball games, she would watch him yell at distracted teammates, run across the court, score, then smile and laugh with the rest of the team afterward.
Maybe some people thought her article had been shameless flattery, but to her, it had simply been a way to express all the emotions she felt whenever she watched him play.
He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, looking even more irritated than before.
« The buses got cancelled or rerouted because of the rain. None of them are stopping here. »
As he grabbed his things and umbrella, he quickly noticed the girl beside him had not answered. She had only lowered her head quietly.
It was the first time he truly looked at her since they had ended up alone together.
And he had also noticed there was no umbrella among her belongings.
He could not and did not want to leave her outside alone, with a dead phone and nothing to protect herself from the rain until nightfall. So his irritation slowly faded into embarrassment instead. He could have simply walked away, especially considering how shy he was around her. It would have saved him from making both of them uncomfortable.
« You don’t have an umbrella? »
His stress was so obvious it could be heard in his voice. He already knew she did not have one, but if he wanted to help her in any way, he first had to actually speak to her.
« No, I forgot it at home this morning. »
She lifted her head and met his gaze.
Both of them immediately turned red again without saying a word.
“Get up. I’ll walk you home.”
At this point, they were both completely flushed.
Despite the writer’s attempts to refuse, she eventually gave in after seeing how much effort Kasamatsu was making to help her.
And so they walked beneath an umbrella far too small for the two of them, standing so close their shoulders brushed together every few seconds.
Truthfully, Kasamatsu was more focused on keeping her dry than on the silence lingering between them. He kept tilting the umbrella toward her side, even if it meant letting the rain soak his own sleeve.
To stop her shoulder from getting wet, the basketball player wrapped an arm around the student’s shoulders.
Yeah, he had completely lost his mind.
Who knew where he had found the courage to do something that intimate?
She did not move away. She did not protest either. Truthfully, she did not mind at all.
Obviously for the sole purpose of not getting sick, of course.
“I heard you like playing the guitar.”
It made sense that she knew. After all, she was the one who knew every piece of news circulating around the school.
At the sound of her voice, Yukio turned toward her. He probably had not realized it until now, but his face was so close to hers. She could feel his warm breath against her skin.
She waited for an answer, but nothing came.
Kasamatsu was staring at her face in surprise. Her lashes. Her lips. Her cheeks tinted pink from the cold and embarrassment.
He might have laughed about it if he had not been in the exact same state himself.
He never imagined she would know anything about his life outside of school. Some people might have found that strange, but honestly, that thought never even crossed his mind.
Now that she had tried to break the ice, he could not leave her talking alone.
So he answered her.
Mostly with short yeses and nos, but it did not matter. She had more than enough questions to fill the silence between them.
Sometimes she would giggle softly. Yukio never really understood what was funny enough to pull laughter out of her, but he liked hearing it anyway. It was rare to see that side of the president.
Little by little, the boy’s shoulders relaxed, though he never let go of the girl curled against him.
When they finally arrived at the foot of her apartment building, she stopped and slowly turned toward him, gently pulling herself away from his chest.
For a second, she stayed silent.
Just there, in that strange in between moment where the rain felt farther away and the silence heavier.
Then, without truly looking at him at first, she slowly lifted a hand toward his shoulder.
Her fingers rested against the fabric of his shirt, wrinkled from the walk, from the rain, from her too, maybe.
She smoothed it out gently, with an attention far too natural to be completely innocent.
Her fingers lingered one second too long, as though she did not even realize it herself, before slipping away and falling back to her side.
Yukio was probably incredibly red judging by the smile spreading across the young girl’s face.
“Thank you for walking me home, Kasamatsu. Get home safely!”
Back at his house, Kasamatsu could not stop thinking about what had happened.
About that walk beneath the rain, her closeness, her hand against his shoulder… and especially that smile she had given him as though it meant nothing at all.
Now that the weekend was beginning, he knew he would have to wait until Monday to see her again.
Unless he managed to get her number and invite her somewhere…

I miss them so much..
I seriously miss Teiko that much. Every time I feel that way, I always end up rewatching Kuroko's birthday episode. It's forever my favorite and holds such a special place in my heart. Watching it always gets me emotional and crying because seeing them all look so genuinely happy, especially Sei.
Look at him, he looks so happy and healthy.. you know how much I live for Akashi Seijuro's smile? I can't even put into words how happy it makes me feel when he smiles like this.
Also, for the other GoM too
Murasakibara and Midorima are both making this face, but I know they actually live for moments like this.
And then there's Kise, always smiling and making silly poses. Well, he's just super expressive anyway, lmao.
FINALLY, my favorite part T_____T! This always has me sobbing. It's so sweet seeing Aomine genuinely enjoying basketball again, especially with that fist bump at the end. I'm literally crying, I can't y'all😭..
Momoi... I feel you.. I always cry right along with her in that scene too🥹. Man, if I were in Momoi's position, seeing all my friends finally reunited and playing together again would totally have me in tears. It's just so touching!
After playing, they took a group photo to remember the moment~ my cute headcanon is that they display it in their rooms hehe!
Kuroko smiles, thanked his friend as if saying that this moment is the 'best present' for his birthday! Likewise, for me, this episode is also the best gift :">
