Kasamatsu-senpai had finally agreed to go play for a while, Yuki was overjoyed! Even if they only went to the Game Center for a little while and maybe got a snack, it was more than she had hoped for.

She held onto his arm as she pulled him to the doors to lock up the gym.

"Hey...

He had paused a little as they started walking and she looked at him with a tilted head. "Senpai? Have you ever gone to the Game Center with a girl? Well even if you had, you weren't running away with her! Only I get to run away with you!" She laughed and kept going. "Crap! We have to change back into our uniforms. I'll meet you in the club room ok? Don't take too long because I know you hate when I walk in on boys changing. I remember the lecture." She pulled her fingers off his arm and gave a thumbs up as she ran off to get back into her uniform before their sort-of date. Maybe, if she were honest, she sort of skipped and sort of ran as she smiled like an idiot.

A dull blush rose to Kasamatsu’s cheeks and he turned away, biting his lip as a frown fell across his face."T-that’s none of your business, Murakami-san."

"Yep!" She grasped her hands behind her back and turned full circle. This was far too much fun.

"Hmmm… You’ve probably known him longer than anyone else you know. He’s pretty darn good at basketball and he is really cool. But, I don’t think he wants to kiss me back."

She made sure to pout at the end and move closer to Kasamatsu once again.

"Senpai, if he was mean to me, would you protect me?"

Great. Apparently he knew the man but her hints did not help him. The only man that fit her description was…  "M-Moriyama?" They had been friends since gradescool and he was a good ball player, but it was a strech to call that idiot, ‘cool’. “You want to kiss Moriyama?”  Another spark of jealously shot down his spine, only this time, more noticeable as she moved closer to him. For this conversation, and his liking she was way too damn happy. Cute, but too happy. 

His cheeks were slightly red when he nodded. “It doesn’t matter who is mean to you- I’ll protect you no matter what.”

She pushed her bottom lip out, even as her eyes sparkled.

"Senpai! How could you? You're so mean! Moriyama-senpai isn't my type at all!"

She made sure to scrunch her brow up and pout as hard as she could. Kasamatsu-senpai was too easy to tease.

"Plus, it seems obvious that his parents have known him longer than you have! The person who has known Moriyama-senpai the longest is Moriyama-senpai."

She stopped pouting as she realized he had said he'd protect her no matter what. Her ears colored red and she chewed the side of her bottom lip.

"But, um, I'm glad you"ll always protect me." She smiled up at him as she tried to quit being embarrassed.

Running Away for the Night (for kaijocaptain)

"But, don’t all high school boys want to kiss someone? I know who I want to kiss." She paused and looked at Kasamatsu as she contemplated where to draw the line. "I’m sort of hoping to get his second button at graduation. But that’s still a long way off."

A twinge of unexpected emotion sparked down his spine after she spoke.  Wait- was that… Jealously?  Whatever, he would have time to think about that later. First: to act. But he had to make it seem like he didn’t care. 

"Do I know this guy?"
