In day I'm a princess I hold my sword proud I've fought demons and won I've overcome fear loss and doubt I've never failed to show bravery and love But the moment that sun comes down I'm suddenly become very small Afraid to speak in the silence I'm only one against infinite I'm afraid of the shadows And of their reward Final peace: Death

(Un)known

What could be worse than fear of the Unknown? The Darkness of Night? The chill of Death? The thought of living and dying alone? Or the fear of oneself. The fear of the Known. The Unknown is far off, where no one can go But the known is right here, unnervingly real You can hide from the Unknown in light and love But the known is always there, never far off. The Unknown asks "What if daemons are about" or says "There's a monster or thief over here, no doubt" but the Known hides it's terrible secret for the Known isn't always as easy as it seems...

Flicker and Fade

Stars may fall and light may flicker and fade But physics has taught me much about energy For every loss there is a gain a push for pull We lost a light his painless death a painful memory But it it's wake another star shines brighter We lost a mentor father, team mate and creator so dear but happiness is still here; in our loss we 6 mil bond further

Loss

Some weep tears of loss To wash away the pain Some laugh and joke instead For its smile or go insane

Some they sit in silence, stunned The agony seeping in But all together they mourne the loss Our sorrow the same within

But though we lost a friend of all And this family of ours is tortured We must move on as he would want And always keep moving forward

Aught to be

I close my eyes, what do I see? Someone somewhere they aught not to be They stand the same as me, save for more grace And different hair, eyes, body, and face. Intrigued, I don’t flee from what I see Though I could just open my eyes to reality For they are different; nice, and free content with themselves, proud, and happy When I open my eyes, what do I see I see a man standing where a woman aught to be.

Unwelcome Guest

From birth I've been taught of gods and kings and math, and lit, and science too! and all of which a textbook rings In hopes to explain the things I'll go through

But in this life, despite my logic I'll come across a mystery and though I was raised to be agnostic Their existence remains quite eerie

Now I huddle under my sheets Afraid of some unknown beast Phone in my hand, and tears at my cheeks Praying to be left alone, at least

For though I do not wish to believe "She" is here, and I wish for her to leave.

Skinner's Box

Like a Skinner's box, every day I pull that lever, time to play. The game I play is played by all Some, they win, some, they fall. Every day's a pull, every day a chance In this festively macabre dance Life's the game, the lever, success I pull the lever, hoping for luck Yet nothing comes, in this cycle stuck But I'll again tomorrow, nontheless

Me at Last?

Are my choices really me? Or what I was told I ought to be? Should I lie in fear of death, Afraid that I drew my final breath? Should I tear away at skin That contains within a hidden sin? Should curl up and weep at night Or should I succumb and lose this fight? I'm not who I am, by choice or drive I play a part to hope to thrive And when I'm freed from the cast Will I let myself be Me at last?

Another Day

I’m done No more I’m down I’m out I want to run away. This house Ain’t home This body Breaking My life is fading away I’m young Dying Not strong Crying Some day I won’t be the same But now I stay Alone Afraid Of life another day
