What are you most proud of with your writing process?

In my writing process I am most proud of my progress in revision. When I say revision I don't necessarily mean spelling and punctuation. What I mean is, writing a piece and then when I re-read it, finding the best most concise way to say it. I have, over this term, reworked my sentence structure, eliminated words and phrases completely and increased my vocabulary so that I might convey my thoughts more efficiently. It has also been fun to match my writing style to the assignment and challenge myself to adhere to the requirements of the audience.

I am so happy to hear that you are very proud of your writing process. I can say that I am as well. As we grow into web writing people, it is hard sometimes to slow down and actually reflect on our writing prior to making it public. I think this has a lot to do with social media because this revision piece is not necessarily a part of posting on social media. However, when it comes to school assignments, it should be an unnecessary step and I catch myself forgetting it very often so I am glad that this course allowed me to pause and really evaluate my writing in a digital space because it is even more important because of the amount of eyes that can digest my created content.

What do you like most about your learning?

The thing I like most about learning is actually being able to apply it to the real world because it makes that knowledge more valuable. I personally feel that some college classes do not specifically relate to what your future career is, but this course is different. I will be able to apply the things I have learned in this class to my future career and everyday life as web writing is something we experience on a day to day basis.

I also feel like my favorite part of my learning in this class is the ability I now have to apply different web writing strategies into the real world, especially in my future career. I truly learned a lot, especially when it comes to language and it is so good to hear that you also felt the exact same way.

Where will you adjust your Content Learning Reflection to strengthen your point?

My biggest struggle right now for a few of my questions is meeting the word requirement. I do not want to ramble on about nonsense to meet the requirement, but i think I tend to not elaborate enough on my point. I think this area is what I need to strengthen the most to make my argument stronger. I am going to try to think about each question more in depth and specifically think about how the class could influence my future career.

I completely understand your struggle and don’t feel like you are alone in this problem. I highly recommend trying to connect your responses to your own personal life and apply the strategies that you were talking about to your future career since that is a very popular topic of conversation throughout this course. I also recommendgoing in more depth describing how you felt whether it was good or bad while connecting the specific content and web writing strategies to the assignments because I know that honesty and a good explanation will be really valued for this specific assignment. I would love some specific feedback for question number two. It talks about an experience where we collaborate with peers to complete a writing project. I did end up answering this by talking about a writing project that I complete in my specific major classes, which is also a great representation of what my future career will look like. do you think that that is appropriate? Or is this question specifically asking to answer it based on the writing project we have completed in just this course. Because of the professors emphasis on using these skills in our future career I wanted to include that in this specific question especially so I would love to hear what my peers are doing to answer this question specifically. what do you like the most about your CL Reflection?

while beginning to develop my content learning reflection, I am really enjoying the opportunity to answer these questions in such a unique perspective. I am beginning to look into my possible interview questions in the field of early childhood education, and these questions are representing that language perfectly. Therefore, I really like the language in which I am using to answer these questions. It is very professional and I am already very proud of myself, so I can’t wait to share my responses with dr. where will you adjust your Content Learning Reflection to strengthen your point?

when creating my content learning reflection and while going through the revision process based upon pure feedback, I plan to strengthen my point by adding in elements of my future career in the field of education because I think that will allow me to make these questions feel like true interview questions if I apply them to my real life and my soon to be future. I would love feedback on whether others think that that would be a good idea or is going too far outside of the assignment expectations because it is just supposed to summarize our learning from this course. Ideally, when connecting specific vocabulary words and ideas that we have learned week after week in this course to my future in the education field, as well as my web writing strategies as a whole, I believe they will all work together to answer each question professionally and accurately.

Week 15 Check In

what questions do you have about web writing that will help you after you finish this course? 

This isn’t necessarily a question, but one thought that I do still have that I don’t think we talked about in-depth is the tone that is explicit and implicit behind web writing. I think that this is more common in social media than in professional web writing situations, but as we are thrown into this digital world that surrounds us, I can’t help but I always find myself questioning the language that people use and asking myself what the hidden meaning may be because social media and web writing as a whole. It’s very subjective and I think that needs to continue to be discussed. That has been a thought that has crossed my mind at various points in this course because we are being graded on our web writing. I think it does help us be more explicit in our thoughts and ideas in this specific course because we were being graded on the meaning and themes behind our content which I’m very thankful for. Also, I do believe that it made social media seem a little less subjective to me. I would love to hear any thoughts that you have on that or any experiences that you have with the various hidden tones that may be included in web writing since I do think it will continue to be a dilemma that we all experience as the Internet becomes more prominent.

My favorite part of the last few weeks of the semester is the feeling I get when I am able to check off my last couple of assignments for each class. There is no better feeling than knowing that there is nothing else lingering in the back of my mind.

I love your comments and quotations for your angry fan post and I think they have a lot of emotion behind them, especially with the addition of the hashtag it explains a lot for the audience, and it shows the bond between the viewers and the show that you created. I would love to know what platform you planned on using, these are great caption ideas or words to put on our story if you’re using a platform similar to Instagram, but I think it’s important to also include pictures and other multimedia elements.

Share an example of your favorite television show or movie - how does that show/movie help you work through this project and understand angry fandom?

I would have to say that I do not have a favorite show or movie right now, but some of the shows that I used to watch have had angry fans. This will help me by understanding what the fans are upset about.

I highly recommend engaging in some social media pages that have the emotions embedded in them because of their favorite television shows being canceled. That will also give you more of an inside scoop rather than you just learning all of those feelings yourself. I love how honest you are in your post though because I also have not had that feeling of my favorite show ending, but I do know what my favorite show means to me and if it were to end tomorrow, I would be severely heartbroken and I would have a lot of free time in my life that would need to be filled with something other than my favorite show and I can’t even imagine my life like that.

share an example of your experience as a fan of a show that was cancelled. help us feel the feels

When I was in high school, I started a show called "Spinning Out." It is about a figure skater struggling with her bipolar disorder, and it was canceled after one season!! The show ends on a cliffhanger and when they announced that they were not renewing for the season, I was devastated. They could not have ended on a worse note. I cannot remember exactly what the ending episode was about but I DO know it was a cliffhanger and something that definitely needed a part two. to this day, I am not sure why it was cancelled but it was a good watch until it was only just one season.

I love how you still remember a specific show from when you were growing up and the emotions that you had when that event occurred in your life. I have also heard of that show, but I’ve never watched it and it’s interesting to hear that it’s only one season that of course ended on a cliffhanger. I’ve never experienced that personally when a show ends on a cliffhanger with no sequel, but I know plenty of movies give you that feeling and then you need to wait years for the next movie to come out which I can only imagine is a very similar feeling. I posted an example of an original content piece that I created for this project in my post for the professor, asking for more feedback on it, but here is an example of what I created on my TV show's Instagram story. This to me the easiest way to create posts, so I highly recommend it, but with Instagram, I’m struggling to find new ways to post my content and overall I feel like my content is very repetitive which I would love to get feedback on how I can change that and make it better and more creative will also still appealing to the Instagram audience. I can’t really make a Reel for this, but as I am creating my last seven posts as the TV show account reacting to people‘s criticism of the cancellation, I’m a little stuck on ideas and how to be more creative. I would love suggestions as to how my other Instagram creators are making their content so unique. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

I am a huge fan of reality TV so this project inspired that side of me to come out, especially when it came time to create the ideas behind the TV show. I wanted to base it around reality TV for sure. And my overall concept about having the reality TV show be about the fandom’s that are created from these shows was inspired by me and my roommates because we do think that this would be a great TV show idea because of how strongly some people feel about their favorite TV show shows it truly is an illness and some people and to watch the craziness that the fans are taken should be its own TV show, which is exactly what I created for a favorite show. Currently my favorite TV show is Below Deck and they have various series and spin-off that I have also watched, and I am an avid fan of them all. So once again, my favorite TV show was a big influence on my creative ability for this project and it made it quite entertaining for me.

Personally, I have not really experienced the feeling of when my favorite show becomes canceled, but just recently it became public that Outer Banks is only getting one more season and then it will be done forever and seeing that be publicly shared and you witness those fans react in the way that they did. I was able to see the feelings that are shared by fans when they care so much about a specific show and it was an experience that’s for sure. My Instagram feed was filled with people reposting the original post on their stories just to show support and to share their feelings towards this announcement. I assume a lot of us have felt that way, or have experienced others feel that way, which I would love to hear any other specific experiences especially if you were one that did repost Outer Banks, for example.

Week 14 Check In

I'm sorry if this post is late, I was a little confused with the due dates because of the holiday break. I think my biggest question for this assignment and as I’m finishing up is, should I fear being repetitive in the original post that I am creating for this design project. I’ve pretty much developed all of my posts and I really do appreciate your feedback about hashtags. I truly forgot about them so that is the biggest edit that I am going to make. Additionally, I fear that my post as the movie production account/the favorite show account is going to be very repetitive because of the use of similar language (I plan to discuss this in my analysis and reflection letter because I do believe it has a reason) and the basic photos that I am using. I would love advice on how I can maybe change it up and where I can acquire better images that best fit my personal feed. I have attached one of my created original posts and I would love specific feedback on the image that I chose. Is it too basic? And again, where can I best find appropriate images that go with my made up show without it being confusing to the audiences.

Appeal of long Youtube videos

Longer Youtube videos can appeal to people for many different reasons, but I personally see one of the main reasons people are drawn to them is for the background noise. I know many people who will watch them to fall asleep, or put them on in the background while they work, simply for the background noise, or to give their brain something to focus on during a mindless task. I personally will put them on to fall asleep, or while I'm doing chores or cleaning. Creators can keep their audience engaged during long videos with background music, or perhaps editing to keep most parts funny or engaging. The strategy may change depending on the focus of the content.

I think it’s interesting that you brought up the idea that YouTube videos are mostly used as background noise when they reach a length of 10+ minutes. I engage with YouTube videos that are normally hours long and I am visually watching them every minute as they are playing. However, I also watch them as background noise, especially videos that I have maybe seen before or that I know will put me in a great mood. I know I can go back to those videos, especially because they are so on platform various content it is easy to find what interests you. Also, the other elements that are incorporated throughout the YouTube video are what is very intriguing like the music and the different video cuts it keeps the watchers and viewers on their toes and, that is what is of interest to the people watching the longer YouTube videos.

Write a style rule for creating an Instagram reel - why is this key for the Instagram followers to view the content? A style rule for a reel is to make it entertaining. You have to have an attention grabber of a reel. You have to make people stop scrolling and watch your reel. If you are making a simple reel, make sure you use music that will grab people’s attention. With reels, it mainly comes down the the audio that will grab people’s attention. Having no audio or not good audio, could make your reel one someone scrolls past. Also another key is to use hashtags that are relievent to your content. You can find more people to follow you and it can be easier for your followers to view your content.

The word, entertaining people tend to think of it as meaning, funny and silly, but I think in today’s world, we all find different types of social media, entertaining, and it can be serious content. Personally, I find satisfying videos, very entertaining, and they will always grab my attention, especially if the first second of the video is something very visually appealing. I will instantly watch the entire real since we are talking about Instagram. Hashtags are very popular on the platform of Instagram especially on the Explore page since that is how those posts get noticed the most often. I like your wide range of thoughts, especially about Instagram since that is my personal social media platform that I have been exploring throughout this semester.
