Hard launched on ig and fb that im definitely going to Emp*ria St*te Un*versity’s online School of Library and Information Management :) I start May 26th!
i know we're not supposed to say this but i literally love being alone and going on the computer
I’m just wary about the Bible costumes bc one of my best irl friends is a Christian and I don’t want to offend her. I’m being completely serious btw shes a lovely person and I deeply respect her faith. To ME a Halloween costume is an honorable thing but not everyone feels that way…
My first Halloween i was Cinderella though so im speaking from a place of Princess Halloween Experience privilege
There’s apparently a trend where people will do a family costume where the dad is prince Eric, the mom is Ariel, and the baby daughter is Flounder or something and people are like “no! Thats so wrong! The mom should let the baby be the main character! Shes being selfish!” But tbh I think it’s fine 🤷♀️ It works better. Also what’s the alternative for TLM at least, the baby being Ariel and her prince being her dad and the mom being who? I’m not against father daughter prince princess costumes but I can see why someone would be.
This Halloween im going to be either Wendy from Peter Pan, Little Red Riding Hood, or Mary Magdalene. Then the following Halloween or the one after that when I’m more confident in my appearance and have moved out of my parents house im going to be Eve (as naked as possible with green garments, a toy green snake draped on my shoulders, and the “Apple” will be my iPhone (I’ll get a red case. I’ll need to hold it anyway bc of lack of pockets)). I’ll make sure my event/party that year has a coat check and I’ll wear a big coat over all of it outside for warmth.
I like the idea of a tattoo of a deer’s face on my upper stomach with each antler cradling each breast but that might be too big and painful
So I am not very into animal print clothing, it’s just not my thing, but when I got into kibbe I learned that soft dramatics are recommended to wear animal print and I looked up people with my body type wearing it and I have to say they do rock it especially ones with my coloring. The issue is if I were to wear animal print I would want it to be deer print and that’s not as common and when you search for it some of the results are prints with actual deer silhouettes on them. I’m open to others though, just not zebra print (zebras themselves are beautiful! But I am not a zebra).
I kind of want a tattoo but I’m not sure what. The only thing I can think of is something deer related that doesn’t give hunter because theyre my favorite animal. It also serves as a subtle Harry Potter reference because of all the stag/doe stuff without being an obvious embarrassing Harry Potter Tattoo. I’m not sure where in my body I’d want it though. Probably someplace coverable.
The only aspect of my car is care about is safety. However if I could get one in a blueish green that would be awesome ngl.
Talking to my hairdresser about highlights and im nervous bc I don’t speak Highlights
My dad also said he’d pay for my car summer 2027 which im more skeptical about because he’s been saying that for about a decade but maybe the fact that I could be moving to someplace I’ll need a car will give more urgency. I think he’s waiting for me to reach a driving proficiency im probably not going to reach, which maybe means I shouldn’t ever drive at all, but we’ll see after another year of practice. I feel bad asking my mom to practice with me because she already does so much for me and she works full time but maybe we could aim to do a very short amount of driving every day. Or whatever works best for her.
omg my dad said he’d pay for at least the first semester of grad school… i was NOT expecting that but what a huge gift! That alone saves me enough money for my trip. Amazing!! Thank you Dad.
me: I can go from hypersexual to completely lacking a libido overnight or vice versa. I think it's a symptom of bipolar disorder but, honestly, I've always had a complicated relationship with sex since learning what it is

I think the reason a lot of leftists struggle with disability justice is that they haven't moved past the concept that discrimination isn't bad because it's objectively "wrong." yes, sexists are objectively wrong when they try to claim women are dumber than men. yes, antisemites are objectively wrong that jewish people are inherently greedy and run the state. yes, racists are wrong when they try to claim that white people are the superior race. and so on.
but then with disabled people, there are a lot of objective truths to the discrimination we face. people with IDs/LDs do fall behind and struggle with certain concepts. physically disabled people are often weaker and less capable of performing demanding tasks than able bodied people. many of us with mental illnesses are more reckless and less responsible. a lot of us are dependent on others and do not contribute much "worth".
and guess what? disabled people still deserve a place in the world. disabled people still deserve the supports they need. because they are people, and that should be enough to support them and believe they deserve a place at the table.
if your only rebuttal against discrimination is its objective inaccuracies, you are meeting bigots where they are at. you are validating the very concept that if and when people are truly incapable of being equal to the majority, that means they are worth less. this causes some leftists to then try to deny the objective realities of disabled people and/or become ableist themselves.
your rallying behind marginalized groups should start and end with the fact that people are completely worthy of life and equity, because they are fellow human beings and that should, frankly, be enough.
"die mad about it" is such an excellent sentence
