Batad is a beaut! Reached the viewpoint at noon and we decided to trek more under the heat of the sun! I already emptied my baon of 1L of bottled water. I have to shell out a few hundreds for an iced bottled water to tide me over during the trek. The convenience shacks are tourist traps for essentials but can't do anything about it. It's their means of livelihood and also ny fault for not fully prepared. TBH, I really thought that the Batad Viewpoint will not require me to cross the rocky buwis-buhay parts of the terraces. I was expecting the viewpoint is similar to Banaue viewpoints. Swipe to see different perspective of the Batad Rice Terraces (a) sitting at the viewpoint, (b) walking behind kuya driver/tour guide across the fields, (c) me standing in front of the world-famous amphitheater terraces. PS: the rice meals are so yummy in Banaue! Freshly harvested violet and brown rice encourages you to get second helpings! #travelstory #travel #Batad #traveltheworld #travelscape #instatravel #Banaue #riceterraces #boondocks (at Batad Rice Terraces) https://www.instagram.com/p/CT4rEOfp0XG/?utm_medium=tumblr
