“Hey... have you figured out what to do for your community service?” Jenny called out to the person sitting near her. “I heard we have options. It’s ridiculous that we have to do it, but whatever. I’m just curious what everyone else is doing.”

“I had my PA hire a bunch of people to organize a city wide cleaning spree, and donate money to a lot of different charities in my name.”

“Crap,” Cory muttered as she looked around, once again managing to get herself lost. You’d have thought, as a werewolf, her sense of direction would have been much better. The studio buildings, however, made it harder to navigate, especially with the ever-changing sets that just confused things. She’s only been here a few days and had already gotten lost a handful of times. “Maps. This place needs maps.” Cory said, approaching the nearest person. “A nice little welcome pack map. Hey. Cory - that’s me. Newbie. Totally lost, both metaphorically and literally. Don’t worry. I’m only asking for help with the latter. Could you please point me towards the gym?”

Kate looked up from her phone and chuckled. “Oh I’ve been working here for a long time but I have never ever stepped foot in a gym, ever, I’m offended you think I look like I need to go to the gym.” Kate said wincing in disgust, it’s not like she needed to, she was a vampire. “But I guess you can try your luck in the building over there, cause I’ve never been there so that might be it.”

“Oh, so this is PR, pretty much. The shit storm shouldn’t come our way, we didn’t do this. We reacted.” Eliza shook her head. “And some of us got really hurt in the process.” She shrugged and turned her attention back to the snack that Kate had brought. “It’ll only hurt for a moment.” She whispered before leaning close and beginning to drink from him.

“Ever heard about not looking a gift horse in the mouth?” Kate asked sighing deeply, this was supposed to be easy and involve a lot less talking, she never thought doing nice things for the injured vampires would be this much of a fucking pain in the ass... And this was just the first person she visited. Kate stayed close just in case Eliza lost control. “That’s enough, remember not to kill him.”

“No, I want my hug, but I am still mad. And I can still collect my gifts.” Jackie scoffed. “Steve…as long as he’s not handing it to me. I’m fine.” Her brows rose. “How was that talk? Pleasant? Unpleasant?” she wondered. 

Kate smirked and wrapped her arms around Jackie in a hug and moved towards her chair, she took a seat and reached for her coat hanging on the back of the chair and reached into the pocket pulling out a box with a ruby jewelry set, earrings, necklace and a ring, ever since Jackie stopped drinking getting her presents got a lot more complicated. “As pleasant as getting defanged... Actually I’d have preferred that over listening to them talk but... Montecarlo was fun.”

Eliza looked up surprised to see Kate waltz into her room. “Uh… what’d I do to deserve that?” She asked with a smile, “you’re probably the last person I expected to see.” The man walked towards Eliza and took a seat beside her, leaning his head to expose his neck to her.

Kate couldn’t help but roll her eyes and sigh deeply. “Deserve? Oh honey, who hurt you? People rarely get what they deserve, and you did nothing to deserve this, but higher ups are trying to be decent before the shit storm coming our way after this and people get punished, so take it if you want or not if you only take what you deserve. I did my part.” She shrugged. “Do whatever she wants.” Kate ordered the man and leaned against the wall as she waited, she wasn’t about to leave them alone in case Eliza ended up killing the dude, that would just mean more work for her.

“I said I’m fine. I just want to go home and rest there.” Eliza argued with the nurse who insisted on checking her over once more. “I’ll be fine. I’ll go hunt, and I’ll be good as new.” Truth be told Eliza still felt weak after fighting off the group of junkies who nearly drained her at Pride. She swatted at the nurses hand again, “I swear to god, if you touch that IV again, you’re gonna regret it.”

Kate walked in, a guy behind him. “Leave.” She told the nurse and locked eyes with her, the nurse left right away. “Is a good thing then, that I’m not a nurse, and I come baring snacks, compliments of the Vancouver clan.” She winked playfully and nodded towards the guy next to her. “Go ahead.” She ordered the man who walked towards Eliza. “Just don’t kill him, we’re in a hospital after all and it’s going to be really hard to get a body out of here undetected.”

“Welcome back, cute ass. Those fangs of yours grow back yet?” Gigi asked, flashing the other an innocent smile that quickly morphed into a playful smirk. “Apparently. But, this is why you have a throne brought in for you to sit on. That or you could always compel some poor sap not on vervain to become a human chair?” She offered up.

Kate let her fangs grow before she smiled, letting them show. “Good as new.” She replied.

“Oh, why would I sit on someone when I can sit on a throne? As much as I enjoy compelling people to do all kinds of things for my amusement, sitting on them is not one of them, unless it’s my last choice. How have you been Gigi?”

“I’m fairly positive that they’ve got blankets and that you’re a vampire who could compel someone to give up theirs. But if those are things you don’t like then sure you’re supposed to sit on the ground like a hippie, or as they do in festivals that require camping and the like.”

“Just because I could, doesn’t mean I like that I have to.” Kate pointed out rolling her eyes. “I don’t like those festivals, or camping... I didn’t take you for the type either. When I was born we barely even touched wine glasses.” She demonstrated holding something with just her index and thumb. “To avoid touching the same place as the servants did.”

“Oh Kate,” He murmured with a sarcastic look morphing his features. “What did we do without you? Aside from order bullshit arrangements?” He paused, a finger to his lips as he looked Kate over. “…You know that you’re not supposed to say ‘midget’ now, right? Little people is fine.” 

“You didn’t buy a glamorous tent worthy of you? ..Say it’s not so, Buchanan.”  

“Fine, Hobbits then.” She sighed deeply and rolled her eyes, her eyebrows raised at the question. “Tent? Oh no, I’m not sleeping in a tent, are you kidding? No matter how nice it is, closest I’ve been to camping is staying in a castle surrounded by a wood.”

“I mean…you could just compel someone to give you a blanket, or to let themselves be your seat. Or find someone hot and sit on them?” Jackie suggested with a smile and a shrug. “I would have offered my lap, but I’m mad at you for leaving me so nope,” she joked. 

“Oh and here I was going to give you a hug but since you’re so mad, I better not.” Kate chuckled. “Are you mad enough to reject your gift? Should I tell Steve to just keep it?” She asked with a raised eyebrow. “I had to go meet the powers that be after the whole de-fanging thing.”

“To be honest.” Kate said as she walked in and saw the tables, what kind of bullshit midget sitting arrangement bullshit was this. “I don’t know if I’m surprised or disappointed this place is still standing... Though, class has been considerably lost while I was away, am I supposed to just sit down on the ground like a hippie?”

“I’ve heard nothing about you, Ma’am.” Of course she hadn’t she couldn’t talk to her sister. “Yes please. I’d rather have my own, yes, but it wouldn’t get used very often, because I’m only here once or twice a month. I also don’t have a job so it’s kind of hard to pay the bill.” Heather knew that she couldn’t have her own most things. Couldn’t have her own place, couldn’t have her own things. Because she disappeared far too often. 

"Ugh don't call me ma'am." Kate said shaking her head. "I'm Kate." She said and then looked at the other woman, she knew a little about her story with Jackie, at least from Jackie's perspective, and she didn't want to add fuel to a fire she didn't know whether was still burning or not, so she refrained from saying she was doing it for Jackie. "I'm disgustingly rich, I'll pay for your phone..." she frowned though as she processed what Heather said. "You get a week or two a month... would you really want to spend it working?"

Kate smirked and shrugged. "That could probably be debatable. I sired an assistant and then spend time grooming him to do my job..." she sighed heavily, stupid Patrick. "Working is the most pointless thing I ever do in my almost 500 years and that's considering I est human food from time to time."
