“The Captain has made it quite clear,” the doctor says, smirking, “that fraternising with alien species requires both her diplomatic clearance and my medical approval.”

Chakotay snatches the satin nightgown from the doctor’s hands. “I haven’t been fraternising with anyone the captain needs to be concerned about.” He blushes and stuffs the nightwear under his pillow. “Now,” he snaps. “Have you brought something for my head?”

A Star Trek Voyager fic. It’s time for a tropical holiday with the Doctor! Our command duo are conducting a clandestine relationship in @kate-coleman-writes​’ (aka KaCole) wonderful Busted series, and in The Doctor’s Holiday, part five, the good Doctor tries to get in some peace and relaxation on his well-deserved shore leave but people who will just not listen to his advice keep interrupting him – including our favourite couple.

I feel like we seriously need to talk about these gifs: The oh so gentle way he reaches out and caresses her arm, as much emotional as physical steadying.  The way they turn their faces towards each other in perfect unison. The way they react to jostling somehow by going towards each other (rather than in the same direction)… like their instinct is to come together for support no matter the circumstances.

 Also they both just look really pretty here with their perfect hands and her romantically starting to fall out of its confines hair and their worried little faces and perfect profiles and sad eyebrow raises and glorious cheekbones and his oh so kissable lips.

This so perfect.

You can see that even with the whole crew around them they seek comfort and assurance in each other.

She doesn’t just take his arm - he lays his hand over hers. This is such an intimate gesture. (Also why did that woman have to walk in front of them right then?)

Now look at that. That’s not just relief, that’s “I need to touch you all over to make sure you’re really not dead” relief.

That’s “Let me truly look at you again before I leave you for two seconds in case you die on me again”

And finally, this is “I’ve seen half of my crew down, but Oh God, not him, please not him” angst.

These two are just so close and intimate with each other.

There is so much more here than just “captain and first officer.” In any of the gifs, really. Can you imagine Kira going into Sisko’s office with a peace rose, or Riker sobbing over Picard’s body? No. Because the Janeway/Chakotay dynamic is more than that and should have been acknowledged through the end of the series. *sigh* but I guess that’s why we have fanfic

Long pat on the *inside* of his knee, that she doesn’t move until he does.   These are two people who are extremely close and intimate with each other. 

And he clearly looks just as good walking out of a room as he does walking into it. ;)

25 Days of Voyager

It's just about that time of year!!! We will definitely be doing the 25 Days of Voyager again this year! Fics, art, videos, etc are all welcomed! The only restriction is that it is Star Trek Voyager related.

The way this works....

Any one interested will sign up for a day in December, the 1st through the 25th. On that day you will post your 'gift' for the Voyager fandom. Tag this blog and #25daysofvoyager so that we can find it and reblog it.

If all the days fill up, I will just be adding more than one person to some (or all) of the days...this was the case last year. And if you would like more than one day, you most definitely can!! The more the merrier, so there won't be a cut off for the number of participants.

Postings don't have to be holiday related, but they definitely can be! If you post on Ao3, I will be starting a collection to add your fic to so that we can easily find it. More to come on that later.
