A moodboard is a collection of visual materials that evoke a certain style or concept. Designers, illustrators, photographers, filmmakers and all types of creative professionals create moodboards to communicate the "feel" of an idea. They can be a powerful starting point in a creative project—a visual reference for the team and a springboard for new ideas.

This is my first illustration on making faces in the mixed style of the illustrators I chose. My three illustrators were Hayden Williams, Megan Hess and Kirsten Ulve. In this Illustration I have drawn a face from Hayden Williams and then instead of colouring it in I used Megan Hess’ style of black and white with the only colour being the lips. Then to bring in Kirsten Ulve’s style I made the hair one block colour.

Playing around with some ideas for my logo. This was just a quick go to see what i could come up with just using my initials. I like the way they’ve come out so far

Kirsten Ulve

This is a series of drawings by the illustrator, Kirsten Ulve, that I made to try out a different style. I made this to explore the colour blocking technique and to analyse the style of the illustrator. The first and last illustrations are full copies and the second one is a half and half. On the first illustration, I drew it using pencil, then painted with water colours. On the second two illustrations, I drew using pencil then coloured in with felt tip markers. I am pleased with the way the colours look and how I have portrayed the artist, I think the best feature of this work is probably the first illustration. I think that it flows really well and looks the best. I feel more confident using this illustrators technique.

Megan Hess

This is a series of illustrations that I copied, originally made by the fashion illustrator, Megan Hess. I made these illustrations to try out different artist’s style. On the first illustration, which is a full copy, I drew using pencil then filled in with black watercolour. On the second illustration, which is a half and half, I again drew with pencil and filled in with black watercolour. The same applies to the last illustration. I am not very happy with this work, it looks very rushed and I have still not improved in drawing smaller faces. If I had to do it again I would take more time on this. The most successful part of the work is probably the second illustration, the half and half. I am most pleased with that one because it looks the most presentable.

Hayden Williams

This is a series of illustrations that I made copies of by the fashion illustrator Hayden Williams. I made this to explore Hayden Williams’ art style and the how the illustrations work. I drew all these illustrations using pencil, then coloured in using felt tip markers. The last illustration is a half and half, the first two being full copies. I am pleased with the intricate detail that i have managed to do in the clothing patterns, although it was very repetitive it payed off in the end.  One area i could improve on is probably the faces, again, i struggled with the eyes on all of these drawing. The skin colour was also hard to get correct. I feel the i am more understanding in working in the style of different artists are doing this work.

Fashion Trends of Spring/Summer 2021

This is my collection of visuals on research about the fashion trends from Spring Summer 2021. I made this to examine why fashion designers kept using these styles. I gathered the images from the internet.

Firstly, I chose the wide leg trousers trend because I relate to it a lot and love the idea of it, it’s very modern and popular.

Secondly, I chose colour blocking because I think it’s very different and fresh, really works for the spring/ summer theme.

Thirdly, I chose the volume trench trend because I think it’s nice how it can still be very casual and also professional, a good coat can bring an outfit together and this trend really shows this.

Lastly, Denim. Denim will always be a classic and can never go out of fashion. New innovative ways to make it bounce back to the top is even better.

This is my mind map and mood board on fashion in the 1960’s. I enjoyed making this one because I am really interested in this era and the culture it made all around the world. I feel it was an important time for change in all aspects of life, including fashion;). I made these to express what I have learnt about the era and to explore the influences of the different types of fashion during this decade.

This is a mind map and mood board I made that shows what fashion was like in the 1950’s. I made this to get me thinking about different types of fashion and how fashion can change over the years, also also thought about what can influence fashion. I made this on power point then printed it out. I am very pleased with the way the mood board came out it looks very well out together. I have a clearer understanding on the 50’s era as a whole.

This video shows the fashion choices of teenage girls through the ages. Young people have a massive influnce on fashion in the world, more nowadays with the internet and social media. However in times like the 1960′s teenagers still managed to get their style noticed and out in the world.

This is a collage of images about the 1920’s fashion scene. I made this to explore the fashion in the 20’s and what influenced this fashion. I also made a written mind map of all the information on 20’s fashion that I learnt in lesson. I made this to develop a further understanding off the era and what made it prominent in fashion.
