Lakhs of state government employees have been asked to be part of this massive drive to be launched by the PM.
And so it begins. It annoys me that it took 66 years for someone to finally get a clue, but better late than never.
This is going to take a decade or more to achieve any kind of meaningful fruition. Many of our rivers are ecological disasters waiting to happen, while our cities accumulate trash, fuelled by the chalta-hain syndrome, all while facing a dangerous lack of sanitation.
Gandhi’s vision on cleaning up India was as much an economical vision as it was spiritual and environmental. And while this is finally a good first step, let’s keep it going.
Anger is like flowing water; there’s nothing wrong with it as long as you let it flow. Hate is like stagnant water; anger that you denied yourself the freedom to feel, the freedom to flow; water that you gathered in one place and left to forget. Stagnant water becomes dirty, stinky, disease-ridden, poisonous, deadly; that is your hate. On flowing water travels little paper boats; paper boats of forgiveness. Allow yourself to feel anger, allow your waters to flow, along with all the paper boats of forgiveness. Be human.

Peace doesn’t require two people; it requires only one. It has to be you. The problem begins and ends there.
