A poster for Scarland's Adventure Isle! [As seen in the @scarland-artbook]
Hey there! Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if I could get your permission to spotlight a piece you provided for the Scarland Art Book in a Defunctland-themed tribute to Scarland (with proper attribution, of course)— I was wondering about the posters you did for the parade, dragon coaster, and jungle cruise specifically. The blocky forms of your style are very conducive to the theme park aesthetic. No worries if not, just wanted to ask (and apologies for submitting this through asks!)
Sure, that sounds like a fun idea—thanks for thinking of me! I love Defunctland, and I’d love to see the project once it’s finished! :D
"It's a story about a woman who has the power to levitate above the ground and to check out all her neighbors from a kind of bird's eye view. And the guy who's writing the song is in love with her and he kinda wishes she would just be more normal and, like, come on back down to the ground, but she doesn't. She goes floating over the backyard and past the buildings and the schools and stuff and is absolutely upside-down to him in every way."
- Chris Frantz, drummer of the Talking Heads, regarding the song "And She Was"
Would you ever consider posting your postcards from the scarland zine? They are so beautiful and i would love to be able to print them and hang them up. I also understand if that is not something you are favroable torwards. Either way, amazing beautiful work!!!
Sorry Anon - I've been absent from Tumblr for a while, and now that I'm back I realized I haven't posted these. I think that's a really sweet idea, thank you! I'll be posting more of my work from the artbook here in the coming days! Better late than never, I guess!
