Hello everyone, I'm Kaitlin Maria Stark, Tony Stark's daughter. My dad accidentally got a one night stand pregnant, who left me at my dad's doorstep, wanting to do nothing with me, and here I am. I am 18 years old, and I graduated high school early, and I'm currently doing my bachelor's and master's degree through MIT(online cause dad's a control freak, and doesn't want to send me to Massachusetts), while also working part time at Stark Industries.

Open RP - Motorcycle

Katie has been dying for a motorcycle for as long as she can remember. Her dad always pushed it off, saying that she doesn't need it and they can buy one later, but when Katie stumbles upon an old 1999 Yamaha YZF-R1 she knows she has no choice but to buy it. One look at it and she's in love, so she wastes no time buying the motorcycle and getting it transported back to the tower. She can't wait to get her hands on it and start modifying it. Katie has just brought the motorcycle to the lab when she hears the door opening.

Bucky opens the door, looking around for Tony. He opens his mouth to greet Katie when he sees her, but he stops when he sees the bike. His eyes light up. “Woah! Where’d you get that?!”

"I saw it today so I bought it! Isn't she amazing?" Katie smiles brightly looking at Bucky. She wasn't sure when she was last this excited about something.

Bucky walks over with a big smile on his face. “She’s beautiful!” He looks it over, practically bouncing. “Can I take it for a spin?”

“No, you never met me ride yours, besides I haven’t even gone for a spin, maybe I’ll let u take it afterwards if you’re nice to me.”

Bucky pouts. “I didn’t want your dad to get mad at me…” he sighs.

“Dad gets mad at everything, he’s so overprotective, it’s a problem. You should listen to me.”

Bucky rolls his eyes. “I know… I’m the same way, you know that. But I’m not going to stop you from taking out this beautiful bike.”

“Oh trust me I know. Thank you though, if you stopped me I would die, look at how pretty it is.”

Bucky laughs. “Oh, would you now? You’d just keel over right now?” He grins and ruffles her hair.

“Yep” Katie smiles before swatting his hand away. “Hey, stop messing up my hair.”

Bucky gasps. “Hey! You’re gonna have to get used to messed up hair if you’re going to be driving this.”

“That’s different, that’s style, this is just you annoying me.”

Bucky laughs. “Oh… oh I’m so sorry, Princess… I’ll refrain from ever touching your hair again…”

“Well not ever, just like don’t ruin it, but you can like still run your hand through it when we’re cuddling or whatever.” Katie says trying not to seem embarrassed as much as she complained about it, it was comforting.

It started slowly. One day, his canine teeth were replaced with fangs. The next, organic web shooters formed within his wrists. He thought that was the last of it when nothing else happened at first, but it turns out that that's not the case.

He's collapsed on his bedroom floor, screaming as four new limbs rip out of the skin of his back. His pupils are blown out wide, and more eyes are actively forming on his face. All he can do is scream in pain and horror as it happens.

Katie’s passing by Peter’s room when she hears the scream and immediately rushes in opening the door.

“Peter! Holy…” Katie just stares with wide eyes.

Peter convulses against the floor, his eyes—four of them, right now, but more forming—snapping to Katie. "K- Katie." He's barely there mentally.

Katie steps back, this was, this was terrifying, she didn’t know what to do. She wanted to do something cause this was her brother but her body refused to move.

“Peter?”

Peter backs up in a skittering motion. He doesn't speak, just stares at her. He looks scared, almost guilty.

“What’s, what’s happening? That’s god, we should do something.” Katie slowly starts to move towards Peter, she can’t see her brother like this and not do anything.

Peter stands in the kitchen, an apron over his clothes and a smile on his face. He's supposed to be having some baking time with someone today, and thought he's a terrible cook, he could (in theory) be a passable baker, right? It's just chemistry! Even if he isn't, though, he's going to have fun hanging out.

He perks up as he sees someone walking in, his smile growing wider as he looks at them. "What're we making today?"

"Chocolate sponge cake, I looked at some of the recipes online and it seems pretty easy. We got this." Katie smiles as she wears an apron as well.

"We do. And if we don't, he does." Peter points at the counter where DUM-E sits with his fire extinguisher. "Let's do this."

“DUM-E remember we only use that when there’s an actual fire, ok?” Katie looks pointedly at the robot before starting to gather the stuff they need. “We should make the batter first, where’s the flour?”

"Uh, here." Peter opens a cupboard and pulls the flour out, setting it on the kitchen island before taking a mixing bowl out. "What else do we need?"

“Umm, the recipe I read said cocoa powder, and like vanilla extract which seems kinda counterproductive cause why do you need both the things.”

"Because vanilla enhances the flavor. It's from the chemical compounds," he says as he gets the ingredients and puts them by the flour.

"Sometimes I forget you're a nerd, but fine I guess we need both. We need sugar obviously and eggs." Katie goes over to the fridge and gets the eggs out.

"Right, of course." Peter takes his phone out and gets a recipe. "Espresso powder? It's optional."

“yes we need to add that, coffee makes everything better.”

"Okay, can you find it? I don't know where we keep it."

[katiestark]

"Ya of course." Katie pulls out the espresso powder and puts it on the counter and goes to get the whisk out.

"Ok what else do we need?"

Peter hums. "It wants cornstarch and vinegar."

“Vinegar? What is with this recipe and random ass ingredients.”

"I don't know, but it looks good. Let's just do it and worry about the consequences later."

"Ya cause that always turns out great. But fine. We can just start throwing stuff in the bowl and starting mixing it up." Katie takes the bowl and adds the flour.

"Great idea!" He smiles, measuring out the cocoa powder and adding it next.

Katie adds some of the other ingredients.

“Do we add water in this?” Katie asks as she goes over to get the electric hand mixer to mix the batter.

Peter nods. "Yep! Cold water, specifically. It makes a difference in the sponginess." He goes over to the fridge and pulls the water out.

“Ok cold water.” Katie nods as Peter grabs it. “Since when do you know so much about baking?”

Peter holds his phone up as it displays the recipe. "I don't. This does."

[katiestark]

"Oh right, I'm just stupid I guess. Ok let's mix this up." Katie starts the hand mixer at the slow setting and holds it it the bowl to start mixing the batter.

Peter watches her mix it, nodding approvingly. "Careful. It says not to overmix."

"I'm a genius Peter, I think I know how to mix some shit together. Why don't you preheat the oven or some shit."

Peter rolls his eyes, but does as she's asked, turning the oven on. "We probably should've done this at the beginning."

"Well ya, but it's fine we'll just do it now." Katie turns the hand mixer off and puts it down.

"Ok what's next?"

"Uh..." He checks the recipe. "Just grease a pan and pour it in."

[katiestark]

"Do we have a pan?" Katie asks glances over the kitchen for the pan.

Peter looks around in a few cabinets, eventually finding a pan. "Here it is." He brings it over and greases it.

"Perfect" Katie pours in the batter into the pan.

"Ok, you should like tap the pan to get the air bubbles out, I've seen people do that on TV."

"You watch baking shows?" Peter raises an eyebrow, walking over and tapping the sides.

[katiestark]

"No, I couldn't sleep one day so I just asked FRI to play something random, which turned out to be a baking show. It was boring enough to lull me to sleep after a while."

"To lull you to sleep?" Peter laughs. He nods to the pan. "Ready for the oven?"

[katiestark]

"Yes lull me to sleep, it was boring enough that I could fall asleep. Yep." Katie opens the oven.

"Ok put it in there."

Peter picks the pan up and puts it in. "Okay, how long do we set the timer for?"

[katiestark]

"Um it says 20 to 35 minutes, but that's so long though. What if we increase the temperature a bit and lower the time. That way we get the cake quicker."

He nods approvingly. "That's a great idea!"

[katiestark]

"Great! Ok let's do this!" Katie increases the temperature and sets a timer for 10 mins.

"This is too easy, why do people complain about baking?"

Peter shrugs. "I don't know, it's great!" He glances at the oven one more time before looking at her. "Okay, waiting time, I guess."

“Ya, we could play a video game while we wait?”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Sure!" He walks to the living room, looking behind himself to check that she's following. "What game?"

“Let’s do one of the shorter tracks for Mario kart, so we can be done by the time the cake is done.”

"Good idea!" Peter takes the remote and pulls the track up, tossing Katie a controller.

Katie catches the remote and sits down on the couch as the game starts. “I’m going to wipe the floor with you.”

Peter snorts. "Let yourself believe that." He sits down next to her as their carts take off, his in sixth place.

They play the game Katie quickly trying to get up the ranks while trying to get as many boosts as possible.

"Oh come on!" Katie exclaims when a shell hits her.

Peter laughs, racing past her. He's completely unaware to the smoke that's coming from the oven now.

[katiestark]

"You're cheating, I don't know how but you are! There's no way you just overtook me!!" Katie exclaims before FRIDAY's voice comes through the speaker.

"Miss Stark, Peter, there is smoke coming out of the oven. Immediate intervention required."

"What?!" Peter exclaims, jumping over the back of the couch and seeing the smoke. "How'd that happen? DUM-E, this is a really good time to use the fire extinguisher!" He runs into the kitchen and turns the oven off.

Katie rushes after Peter.

"I don't know! How am I supposed to know? I was there with you!" Katie exclaims just as DUM-E douses the oven in fire extinguisher, as well as Peter who was turning it off.

Peter sputters and coughs, shouting and swearing almost incoherently as he's sprayed with extinguisher. "Am I on fire, DUM-E?!"

Katie can't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation, especially now that the fire looked to be under control.

"Oh my god, at least DUM-E only used the fire extinguisher when something was on fire this time." Katie says between her laughs.

Peter half-heartedly glares at her, but can't stop himself from laughing as he wipes extinguishing foam from his face. "He has terrible aim." DUM-E chirps and whurs a couple times.

"In his defense you were kinda blocking his target. Don't listen to him DUM-E, you did good!" Katie grabs a towel and throws it at Peter.

Peter quickly catches the towel, grumbling a thanks as he wipes at his face. "Yeah, yeah, good job, I guess. We won't scrap you to make a toaster."

Katie rolls her eyes before walking over to the oven.

"As if you have the heart to do that. Anyway what the hell happened, we did everything right? How the hell did the cake catch on fire."

[smarterthantonystark]

Peter shrugs. "Uh... Maybe it was the temperature change?"

[katiestark]

"The temperature change? That makes no sense. It's logical, you can either heat something for a longer time at a lower temperature or heat something for a shorter time at a higher temperature."

[smarterthantonystark]

"Then why'd it say this specific time and temperature?"

[katiestark]

“How am I supposed to know? Besides if you knew all this why didn’t you say anything before the kitchen caught on fire?”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Because I didn't know this. You're older, you should know this stuff better!" Peter glares at the ruined cake.

[katiestark]

“I’m like barely older, and I don’t bake shit, how am I supposed to know? You’re the chemistry guy!” Katie exclaims looking sadly at the cake she was really looking forward to it.

"Yeah, but chemistry doesn't equate to baking as well as I thought!"

[katiestark]

“Well then it’s your fault. I was expecting you to know what to do. We should clean up I guess. This sucks I was really looking forward to the cake.”

Peter sighs like he's in mourning. "Yeah, me too..." He grabs a roll of paper towels and hands them to Katie, then gets an oven mitt and pulls the cake out. It's practically charcoal. "Still edible?"

Katie grabs the roll and winces looking at whatever’s left of the cake. “Sure it just has a smoky flavor now. It adds character.”

"Yeah, you're right. I'm sure it's fine." He pokes at the cake with one finger. "It's not like we'd die by eating it, right?"

[katiestark]

"Right, right. Just in case though, you should maybe eat it first?"

[smarterthantonystark]

"Why should I eat it first? No, you should, you're older."

[katiestark]

"You're the one with superpowers! You have less of a chance of dying. You should eat it!"

[smarterthantonystark]

"...fine," Peter says, pulling up a piece and putting it in his mouth. His expression immediately twists, and he opens his mouth, letting it fall out.

"It can't be that bad, come on Peter we made it. You're exaggerating."

[smarterthantonystark]

He stares at her. "Then try it."

[katiestark]

"Ok, you know what it's fine. We can just throw this away. FRIDAY can just order us a cake."

[smarterthantonystark]

"No, I really think you should try it if you think it's not bad. For science."

[katiestark]

"For science ya, not because you want me to suffer." Katie takes a bite of the cake and immediately spits it out, coughing at how disgusting it was.

Peter laughs. "See?" He takes the 'cake' and dumps it into the trash can, then puts the pan in the sink so it can soak.

[katiestark]

"Why would you make me eat that?" Katie exclaims glaring at Peter.

"You're awful!"

[smarterthantonystark]

"You made me eat it first!" Peter protests.

[katiestark]

“Well I didn’t know what it tasted like, besides you’re a superhero you can’t get sick because of it, I can!”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Yes I can! I get sick off of stuff all the time!"

[katiestark]

"Well you still have superpowers and I don't, so I'm more likely to die! Besides I didn't know what it tasted like! You did!"

"And I still wanted revenge! Sue me!"

[katiestark]

“You know what screw you. I’m gonna order cake from that bakery you like and eat it all by myself. I ain’t giving you shit!”

Peter gasps. "You wouldn't!"

[katiestark]

“Yes I will because you’re an ass! FRI order a chocolate cake from the bakery Peter likes.”

"Already ordered, Miss Stark."

"I hate you both."

[katiestark]

"Thanks FRI! See if you weren't such an ass you'll still be getting cake."

"You're the worst sister and I hope the cake tastes terrible."

[katiestark]

“I’m an amazing sister, and the cake is going to taste amazing especially since I get to tease you as I eat.”

"You're so mean and I hope the cake tastes like dirt."

"Thank you! And you know you could just apologize and I'll give you cake. But I guess you don't want it, since you're still being a shithead."

"Uh... I could? This is a real conflict here."

“You can, because I’m a great big sister who’s giving you a chance.”

Peter groans softly. "Fine, sorry for making you eat bad cake."

"I'll take it, you can have a slice of the cake. Only because I'm so nice and amazing."

Peter sighs dramatically. "Thank you, I guess."

“You’re welcome, now come on let’s go watch a movie or something while we wait for the cake.”

Peter starts back towards the couch. "I should get to pick since you were mean to me."

[katiestark]

“You’re such a baby, but sure pick. I don’t wanna hear you whining.” Katie sits on the couch cuddling into a blanket.

"I wouldn't whine," Peter protests. "And I'll pick something other than star wars." He turns a random movie on.

“Whining is like your default, and the only reason you’re not playing Star Wars is because you want to beat the allegations.”!

"What allegations??"

“That you’re obsessed and only watch Star Wars, and whine when you don’t get to watch Star Wars.”

"Nobody thinks that!"

“Everyone thinks that, especially me.”

"You're wrong."

“No you are, I’m never wrong.”

Open roleplay—Truth serum

Okay, Peter's following all the lab safety procedures from here on out. Probably. Maybe.

He'd gone in there looking for a piece of his suit he'd left behind, then got distracted by a random vial of something that was laying on his desk. He's not entirely sure what it is, or even remotely sure, but he picks it up anyways and opens it to get a sniff and see if he can identify it. Key word: sniff, not waft. You never want to sniff things in a lab, but Peter doesn't think it's a problem seeing as he feels fine as he goes back up to the living room. He's wrong, but he doesn't know that as he sits down next to whoever's on the couch.

“Hey, did you find what you were looking for?” Katie looks over at Peter as he sits down.

"Yep!" Peter grins and holds the piece up. "DUM-E had it. What're you up to?'

[katiestark]

“Nothing, I’m bored out of my mind, but dad locked me out of the lab because he said I spend too much time there. Which is beyond hypocritical by the way. What about you?”

[smarterthantonystark]

"You do," he adds. "But so do I. I sniffed this random chemical composition that was on my desk, still don't know what it is, so I'm pretty sure I'll get banned, too. I'm definitely bored. We should do something."

"You what? Peter, how stupid are you? It's like you like tempting fate to kill you!"

"If I was going to die I would've when that spider bit me. I'm, like, functionally immortal by now, or something."

“God sometimes I can’t believe how stupid you are despite being a genius. Honestly at this point I truly wonder how you’re like this with mom’s genes in you. Do you like living in dumbass delusions?”

"Not gonna say I don't resent that a little," he laughs. "Sometimes I wonder if I'm just a clone of Dad. And yes, yes I do, very much."

“Me too, can’t believe you got none of mom’s good qualities.” Katie shakes her head giggling.

“I’m honestly more like mom than you are, and I’m not even related to her.”

"You're right. You're both awesome women."

[katiestark]

Katie looks at Peter.

"Did you just say I'm awesome? I mean I am, but since when do you accept that? Who are you and what have you done with my brother?" Katie chuckles.

Peter laughs, then shrugs. "I don't know, I just feel like saying it today."

"What? Ok, I guess. Anything else you feel like saying today? Maybe how I'm smarter than you?"

Peter shakes his head. "Nope, cuz I'm not sure you are."

"Wow, I can't believe it. You finally say the truth and then go back to lying. The great Spider-Man lying. Oh the horror"

Peter laughs and rolls his eyes. "If anything, we're the same intelligence. Tell me you're smarter when you make something that can be used as both a weapon and an emergency bandage."

"You know what fair. But please promise me you're not using your webs as a one shot solution to all injuries. We have the med bay for a reason, I don't need you performing back yard first aid and then dying."

"Not all injuries! I won't die from it, I promise."

[katiestark]

"I'm going to hold you to that promise Peter. I'm only the awesome, amazing, beautiful sister when you're alive. If you die, all bets are off and I will kill you."

Peter laughs. "Yeah, that's totally possible. I'm not weak like I used to be, though. I'll be okay."

[katiestark]

"It is, don't test me Peter, you have no idea what I'm capable of. Sometimes I miss when you were weak. It was so much easier to get you to do shit when you couldn't bench press a car. Sigh, those were the days. Now it's like you want me to die of a heart attack."

"Those were not the days. None of that was fun for me."

"Well if it makes you feel better, I'm definitely not having fun now. You almost dying is not fun for me. Though I don't get why you consider it fun. Do you like watching me suffer Pete? Is that it?"

"Swinging is fun," Peter offers. "The bite came with a lot of perks. You're hardly suffering, and even though I keep almost dying I haven't died yet!"

“Don’t fucking tempt fate. Wait did you just accept that you almost die? You’ve never done that before?”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Uh..." Peter blinks slowly, then shakes his head like he's trying to rattle whatever's off in his brain back into place. "I did."

“What? Are you sick or some shit?”

"Yeah, I'm sure. My Spidey sense isn't going off or anything, and I feel fine otherwise."

"Ok, I guess I'm trusting you for now. Just promise me you'll tell me if something feels wrong. Because I know you lie to me all the goddamn time about stuff like this."

"I will," Peter answers, shifting a little on the couch. "You get way too concerned for me sometimes. I'm not a little kid, I can handle things."

"Can you? Really? How many stab wounds have you hidden from us?"

"Uh... I plead the fifth? But I hide way more than you find, and I'm fine."

"I'm sorry what? What the hell Peter? You can't be serious, how much shit have you been hiding? God please don't tell me you've been stitching yourself up alone."

"A lot, and I have. And maybe you shouldn't be asking me sensitive questions before things go horribly south."

"You what? Peter! Or you know you could just tell me that you're hurt so I can make sure you don't die, instead of finding out ages later. I can't even believe you're actually admitting to this, not that Im complaining, I'll rather know so I can keep an eye on you."

"I've never died in my life! It's not like I'm admitting to this on purpose, it's just happening! And I really don't like it."

"It's just happening? How does that even make...Wait you sniffed something in the lab didn't you? Fuck dad was working on a truth serum. Is that why you're acting like this? Holy shit!"

"Uh... Shit. At least it works?"

“At least. See this is why you don’t sniff random shit in the lab Peter. But you know we should make the most of this situation since you obviously can’t lie.”

"I really don't think we should, you really don't want to hear the truth of stuff."

"Of course I do. You lying to me is terrible, how am I supposed to make sure you don't die if you keep hiding shit from me?"

"I just won't die!"

“I highly doubt that after the dumb shit you pull! Have you ever hid a gunshot wound from us?”

"Yes," Peter says, before his cheeks burn with shame. "...didn't want to make you worried."

“Peter you can’t do that! You know what worries me more? The fact that you could be seriously hurt and hiding it from us. What other stuff have you hidden?”

"Burns, stab wounds, scorpion stings, scorches from bombs, broken bones..."

Katie looks at Peter with wide terrified eyes and just makes a choked noise. She couldn't believe Peter hid so much from them.

Peter heaves a small sigh. "I said you didn't want the truth."

[katiestark]

“How…how could you? What if you died?” Katie wipes her eyes as tears start streaming down her face.

[smarterthantonystark]

"I- I didn't mean to hurt you. I hid it all specifically so I wouldn't hurt you."

[katiestark]

"You could've died! Would that be better? I walk into your room one day and you're just dead!" Katie exclaims tears still streaming down her face, but not the anger and disbelief was present as well.

"I wasn't thinking about that!" Peter protests. He leans forward to wipe at Katie's face. "I'm really sorry."

[katiestark]

“You should be! You’re such a dumbass!” Katie pulls Peter into a hug trying to stop her brain from imagining every bad situation possible.

"Yeah, I know." Peter hugs her back, running one hand through her hair. "I'm trying to protect you."

[katiestark]

"I don't need you to protect me. I need you to tell me when something's wrong so I can help, I don't wanna be doing whatever when you're dying Peter. Not when I could be helping."

"I'm not going to die!"

[katiestark]

“You better not be you asshole! Promise me you’ll tell me when something is wrong next time.”

"... Do I have to?"

“Yes you do, unless you want me to die from stress you have to tell me.”

"I mean, I don't want you to die from stress... But this might just stress you out more. And for the record sometimes I tell other people I got hurt and they help! Like Ned! Or Harley if I threaten him enough so he doesn't tell!"

“Ned and Harley know? Ok, guess I know now which other dumbasses I need to lecture.”

"Nope, nope, you definitely don't need to do that!"

“I definitely do if those dumbasses are hiding the fact that you have injuries from the rest of us. How can none of you have enough brain cells to know that’s a bad idea.”

“Bucky told me already I’m actually surprised you were able to hide her so long. Also why are you hiding her anyway? She needs to meet everyone! I wanna meet her!”

Open roleplay—Part 2 of the reveal

Peter stands at a podium at the front of a room filled to the brim with people. They're mostly members of the press, reporters and photographers, and they'd all fallen into silence when he'd stepped up. The camera flashes subside for a moment, and he glances down at the paper that has what he's supposed to say on it. Despite the preparation he'd had with it, it's not going to help him here. He's not sure what excuse it contains, but he knows it won't do anything, so he goes a little bit off the track.

"My name is Peter Anthony Stark."

Okay, a lot off the track. He tries not to blink as more cameras flash.

"Yes, that Stark. My dad is Tony Stark, and my mom is Pepper Potts. They kept my existence private for sixteen years so I could have a somewhat normal childhood, but, well, I guess that normal childhood is over, now." There's a touch of bitterness in his voice at the end, a bitterness towards the people who spread his secret around until it exploded into this, and he doesn't bother to mask it. He inhales through his nose, and takes a half-step back from the podium.

"No questions at this time," he says as even more cameras flash at him. He tries not to look like he's rushing as he rushes out the door that's directly behind him, a relieved sigh escaping him as his eyes immediately come to a familiar face.

“You did good.” Katie smiles softly at Peter as she gives him a quick hug.

“Mom’s gonna kill you because you went off script but you know, other than that, you did good.”

"Thanks," Peter says into Katie's shoulder as he quickly hugs her back, then pulls away. "I really did? It felt rushed. Did I sound nervous? Because I was really nervous."

“Well it was your first press conference, it wasn’t perfect but still was pretty good. Besides dad’s done so much worse. It’s fine.”

"Pretty good? Okay, I can take pretty good." He glances at the door at his back. "Can we get outta here or do we have to stick around?"

"Let's go, the only thing we'll get by sticking around is more questions and not gonna lie those suck."

"Yeah, seems like it. How bad an idea would it be to go to a crappy diner? Or should we just order in for the greasiest cheeseburgers possible?"

“Let’s order in so we don’t give the media anymore headlines.”

"Good plan," Peter says, already heading for the elevator.

Katie walks beside Peter. “So how does it feel to be officially a stark in front of everyone?”

"Terrible. I hate being perceived, I don't know how you handle it." The elevator doors shut and begin to take them up.

[katiestark]

“You get used to it. Besides I don’t really go out that much, which helps, though I know that’s not gonna work for you.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Yeah, definitely not. I'm a going out person. Plus, I still have school." The elevator doors open to the penthouse and Peter steps out.

"Mom and dad can probably threaten them to stay away from your school, so hopefullt it's not too bad. If not just wear like a disguise, I'm sure you'll be fine."

"A disguise?" Peter looks back at her a bit incredulously. "Like, a fake moustache or something? I don't think that'll work."

“More like a baseball cap and a hoodie, that usually works in movies.”

"Does it work in real life?"

[katiestark]

"I don't know, I've never tried it. Dad probably has, maybe we should ask him? But anyway, it should work, people are dumb."

"That is true. But I'll be fine. They'll get used to it, it's not like I'm some super famous person. I'm just the kid of some super famous person. It'll be fine."

“You’re right, we’ll never get as much attention as dad, but still the media is going to jump at you, at least for a little while.”

"Yeah, I know," Peter sighs, heading over to the couch and dramatically flopping onto it. "What do we want to eat?"

"Cheeseburgers, it's our emotional support meal at this point." Katie sits down next to Peter.

"You're right. You heard the woman, FRI." Peter smiles at the ceiling, and FRIDAY confirms their order. "We need so much emotional support."

“So much, sometimes I think it’s truly hilarious how emotionally fucked our family is. Let the press know that, they’ll have a field day.”

"They so will." Peter reaches for the remote. "Star wars?"

[katiestark]

“Sure, whatever you want.”

"Oh, look, finally a perk to outing my identity." Peter turns the movie on, falling into Katie's side as he does so.

Katie snorts as she wraps an arm around Peter.

“Like you don’t always get your way anyway.”

"I don't!" Peter protests, perching his chin on her shoulder.

“You absolutely do!”

"No, I don't! I didn't get my way with the hamster-rat!"

“Well…well that was an exception and you didn’t try hard enough.”

"An exception? So it's not a rule."

Open roleplay—Vampire AU

Mod: this would be better around Halloween time but vampire spiders are a thing I just learned and we need angst for the week so...

Peter's been... hiding something, about his powers. It's been a somewhat recent development of just a few months, compared to the two years since he got everything else, but in those few months he's developed a... situation. He can't eat proper food anymore. He accidentally found out what he can eat when he stopped a mugging and sunk fangs (yes, fangs) into a mugger's arm. Ever since, he's been creating synthetic blood to consume, all the while keeping each and every bit a secret from everybody.

His plan to hide all of this from everyone fails one night, when he realizes he's all out of synthetic blood. It takes several hours to form and in the meantime he's stuck sitting in the lab, unable to retract his fangs because of his sheer hunger. He flinches when he hears footsteps behind him, immediately snapping his mouth shut and turning to face them with a startled look.

“Hey Pete, what’re you doing? It’s like I haven’t seen you in a while.”

Peter stiffens considerably and turns away before speaking, trying to push down the urge to bite Katie and handle his hunger that way. "Uh, nothing. Just... Working on some new... Web fluid, yeah."

"Web fluid? That doesn't look like web fluid." Katie walks over and leans over Peter to see what he is doing.

Peter freezes, mouth salivating a little. "Uh, it is, just a new kind." He nods stiffly at its reddish color. "You should back up, though, who knows how it could react."

[katiestark]

"It's red, why would you make red web fluid? That makes no sense. But even red, that doesn't look like web fluid, it looks like blood or some shit. Also if it was unstable Fri will warn us." Katie sits on the chair next to Peter.

"It's just... developing," Peter lies, though he'd admit it's not a good lie. He turns his face away, swallowing sharply. "It's not blood! Why would it be blood? That's ridiculous, it's not like I'm a vampire or something."

Katie looks at Peter, analyzing his body language, something is definitely off.

"You're being very defensive for someone who's claiming not to be a vampire. Besides, I never said you were a vampire. Wait are you a vampire?" Katie jokes.

"...Nope," Peter answers after a far too long pause. He sits down with a fresh bout of nausea, just trying to push away his hunger and urge.

Katie looks over Peter and a wave of worry passes over her. Something is definitely wrong. Katie puts a soft hand on Peter's shoulder.

"Look I know we joke a lot, but seriously are you ok? Something feels really wrong, and you don't look good."

Peter's head jerks towards Katie's hand, too fast to be normal, but he just barely manages to stop himself. "Uh..." He rubs a hand down his clammy face. "Just... Just hungry."

"Ok, then let's go get some food." Katie looks at Peter, not really noticing his reaction to her hand.

"No-." Peter starts, then shakes his head. "No, I can't leave my, uh, web fluid."

[katiestark]

"FRIDAY can keep an eye on it. You look really off, and if it's because you're hungry you need food. Come on get up." Katie takes Peter's hand and tries to drag him up.

Peter frantically shakes his head, taking a hungry glance back at his blood. "No, no, I'll be fine!"

[katiestark]

"Peter what are you hiding? Something is definitely wrong. What are you not telling me? Are you hurt or something is that it?" Katie asks panic rising in her body.

Peter swallows. "No, no, I'm not hurt, I promise. I- I'm not hiding anything." His voice cracks slightly.

Peter’s words did nothing to calm Katie down.

“Ok Peter you’re freaking me out now. What’s going on? You can tell me, I’m your sister.”

Peter shakes his head. "No, I can't. I'm sorry." He glares at the blood, which is barely any closer to ready. "It's not important."

[katiestark]

“If it’s bothering you, it’s important. Peter you can tell me anything, you know that right?”

[smarterthantonystark]

Peter sighs a little bit. "You're not going to like it."

[katiestark]

“I don’t care Peter, you’re my brother I just care that you’re ok.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Okay, so... Uh... I'm just gonna-." He tilts his head up a little bit, then opens his mouth widely and pulls his gums back, revealing his fangs.

"Your fangs? Peter I know you have fangs, that isn't news"

[smarterthantonystark]

"No, it's-." Peter pulls his hand back down and looks at Katie evenly. "Do you know what vampire spiders are?"

[katiestark]

“Vampire spiders? No, not what does that have to do with you?” Katie looks incredibly confused, she did not like where this conversation was going.

"Because-." Peter rubs at his face and sighs. "Because the spider that bit me was some kind of vampire spider."

[katiestark]

"A vampire spider?" Katie looked between Peter and where his 'web fluid' was developing, as the the situation finally clicked.

"That's not web fluid is it?"

[smarterthantonystark]

"...no. That's synthetic blood."

[katiestark]

"Synthetic blood... fuck I need to sit down." Katie says as she slumps against the chair.

"How...What? So you're actually a vampire? Holy shit."

[smarterthantonystark]

"Uh... Yeah," Peter confirms, running his tongue across his fangs and sitting down himself. "...Are you mad?"

[katiestark]

“No of course not, why I would I be mad. I’m shocked and confused but I’m not mad Peter. Does anyone know?”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Uh... No. No one. I mean, I think Harley has his suspicions, but... No one's said anything, and I haven't told anyone."

[katiestark]

“Ok ok. God I can’t believe this. You’re a vampire. How’d you even figure it out? What does this mean, you need blood to survive?”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Uh... Yeah, kinda. I make a synthetic version, though. It's not perfect, but it works enough when I remember to make it."

[katiestark]

“Is that why you look sick? Because you don’t have the blood?”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Uh... Yeah, it is."

[katiestark]

"Well how long is it gonna take for the synthetic blood to be ready? Why didn't you make it before if you need it?"

[smarterthantonystark]

"Four, five hours? And I just forgot to."

[katiestark]

“You forgot something you need to survive? Of course you did. Well what should we do right now? You look really sick Pete, I’m worried.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"I'll be fine," Peter protests, blinking a bit lethargically. "Unless you can source some blood, there's nothing to do but wait. It's okay."

[katiestark]

"Ya sure you're fine. Because you look half dead right now, and it's freaking me out. You need blood, I mean we might have some blood in the medbay? But actually getting to it might be a logistical nightmare." Katie says biting her lip before looking at Peter again. She hated how weak he looke.

"I mean I have blood."

[smarterthantonystark]

"Uh... Yeah, you're right. It'd be impossible." Peter looks at her, trying not to consider the second option. "...I can't take your blood."

[katiestark]

“Well we need to do something, I don’t want you passing out Pete. If that means I need to sacrifice my blood so be it. I don’t see any other option.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"I can pass out, it's fine. ...you don't have to."

[katiestark]

"You can't pass out Pete! That's...I can't let that happen ok. We need to do something, so unless you have any other ideas we have no option."

"I... I don't, but it's fine, I'll be fine!"

“you don’t look fine, so stop lying to me! Peter I can’t see something happen to you when I can do something to prevent it!”

Peter looks down, swallowing back the saliva in his throat. "...if you're sure."

“I am, I’m not gonna just sit here while you suffer. Just don’t like kill me or some shit.”

"I won't kill you." Peter hesitates before going to a drawer and pulling a juice box out. He passes it to Katie. "For your blood sugar. Helps with dizziness." He hovers by her arm for a second. "Tell me when it's okay."

Katie quietly nods and just drinks the juice quickly. She should be used to weirdness by now but apparently not.

“Ok ya, I’m ready.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Okay," Peter says, hesitantly kneeling by Katie's arm. His fangs dig into her skin, pricking like needles in her bicep.

[katiestark]

Katie flinches at Peter’s fangs digs into her skin, wincing at the sting.

[smarterthantonystark]

Peter would pull away, but he knows it won't cause Katie less pain if he does that. Instead, he drinks carefully. When he pulls away he makes sure no blood is left on Katie or his face. "Sorry. Thank you."

Katie takes note of how she’s feelin, and realizes that she feels fine and only a little lightheaded.

“It’s fine, did that help?”

Peter nods. His own dizziness has subsided most of the way, and the cramping of his stomach is less severe. "It did. A lot."

“I’m glad, you don’t look like you’re gonna pass out anymore. Next time don’t forget to make something you need to not pass out. God you’re so stupid sometimes.”

Everything is a blur. Katie isn't sure what is happening or what had already happened. There's bits and pieces that she can remember, but mostly all she knows is pain. Everything hurts, every breath, every movement. The pain consumes her entire being, it feels like nothing had ever existed before it and nothing will ever exist after it.

Here, lying on the floor, she can finally breathe as she tries to take reprise from the constant pain, from the dreaded chair when every cell in her body screams at her. She tries to forget about each time they inject her with whatever bullshit they can come up with and all she can do is scream.

She can barely imagine the party she was at before the hydra agents ripped her away from everything, even herself. She can barley even imagine her family and even their blurry figures seem to be slipping away from every time the door to her tiny cell opens. She isn't even sure if they are real anymore or just a figment of her imagination she made to comfort herself, but she clings onto whatever comfort they can provide her.

Peter barrels down the hallway, dressed in his spider suit and screaming directions at Karen as he webs agents. He knows his sister's here and he's not losing her again. He's been looking for her for what feels like forever, searching and searching in what feels completely hopeless. He's only taken breaks long enough to keep himself functioning, catnaps and protein bars pretty much fueling him. Right now, though, he's using his full energy.

He slams into the cell and throws the door open with his super-strength. "Katie!" He nearly chokes on her name, his tone filled with grief and joy as he pretty much throws himself at her.

"No...no" Katie mumbles as she flinches back as the door opens up again and shoves herself against the wall. Nothing good ever comes out of the door opening, all it brings is pain and suffering. The figure that walks in seems familiar, but by now Katie's learned not to trust the familiarity. For all she knows this could be another hallucination, a trick her mind is playing. Or it could be worse, it could be a ploy from her kidnappers to try and gain her trust before shoving her back in the deep end. She couldn't let herself hope, because the more she hoped the more she'll break.

Peter pauses for a second, kneeling on the floor in front of her. She seems scared, and that scares him a lot. "Hey, Katie-cat. You're safe, I'm not gonna let anyone hurt you. I'm here to take you home." He pulls his mask off, confident that he's taken care of the guards in this area for now, to show her his face.

"No, no...I don't wanna...please don't hurt me. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, don't hurt me please." Katie shakes her head, her eyes closed, she didn't want to see whoever was in front of her, she couldn't let herself hope again.

"I'm not going to hurt you, no one's going to hurt you," Peter says in a soft voice, though the tone is a bit strained. "It's okay, it's Peter, I'm Peter." His hand extends, slowly, towards Katie's leg. "Your brother. You didn't forget me so soon, I hope. I'm pretty memorable."

Katie slowly opens his eyes and looks at the boy in front of her. That face was familiar, that voice was familiar, everything about this person was familiar yet she couldn't place it. Logically she knew that she had a brother. She knew she had a dad, a mom, a brother and uncles and aunts, but overtime every single detail about them had been ripped away from her. The faint memories were still there but in place of the faces were only blurry figures. Yet still, the name felt familiar, this man felt familiar, and stupidly against all logic Katie started hoping again.

"Peter? You're...you're not going to hurt me?"

Peter shakes his head softly. "No, of course not. I couldn't hurt you." That's one of his biggest fears, actually. "You ready to go home? Mom and Dad are worried outta their minds." He huffs a bitter laugh.

“Mom and dad? I…I can’t…I’m not allowed to leave. I…i have to stay until my handler comes.”

"Handler?" Peter shakes his head. "No, you don't. You can leave, and you're going to leave right now, with me. We need to get out of here."

"No I can't. You're lying, they're gonna hurt me. I can't, I don't wanna hurt."

[smarterthantonystark]

Peter softens, then shakes his head. "I'm not going to let them hurt you. I don't want you to hurt, either." He extends his hand, and his gloved thumb brushes against her wrist. "They can never hurt you again if you let me get you out."

Katie flinches at the touch. She wanted to trust him, no matter what her brain was saying, she felt safe with him and she wanted to believe him.

"You won't hurt me?"

Peter nods steadily. "I won't. I promise I won't."

[katiestark]

“Ok” Katie mumbles as she nods, barley making eye contact with Peter.

Peter half-smiles, then pulls his mask over his head. He slowly stands and extends his hand to Katie.

Katie takes his hand and pulls herself up groaning in pain.

"Where are we...you're my brother?"

"Yeah, I'm your brother. Your little brother." Peter grips her hand even after she's stood up, not wanting to let go. "We're in... We're in a HYDRA facility. That's why it took me so long to find you, I'm sorry. But we're getting you out now, okay?" He tugs her to the cell door.

"Oh umm ya Hydra, I'm Hydra?"

Katie follows behind trying to get her brain to work and connect the dots. Everything hurt, but this guy was saying he was her brother and he was going to take her out of here and that was something right? That was all she wanted to get as far away from this place as possible.

"Nope, you're not Hydra," Peter says, trying to be gentle with how he says it. He leads her into the hallway. "You're you. You're really smart, and sarcastic, and way too concerned for my safety all the time because I do stupid stuff-." He webs a person in the corner of his eye. "Like walking into Hydra bases without backup to save my sister, and not telling my parents about it."

Katie flinches at the sudden movement but calms down when no hits come.

"I'm not Hydra? They said I was, that I needed to be good."

"They lied." Peter glances back at her when she flinches. "...did they hurt you?"

[katiestark]

"Why would they lie? They were making me better, making sure I didn't lose control. I'm supposed to serve Hydra. I shouldn't leave." Katie mumbles as she starts panicking and stumbling back to her cell.

"Lose control of what? No, you're not, they're definitely not making you better." Peter grabs Katie's wrist when she starts stumbling away. "We gotta leave, Katie. They're messing with your head."

Katie starts breathing heavily as she panics more.

"No, no I'm not allowed to leave. I'm not...I'm gonna lose control, I need to learn how to control my powers. I can't I can't leave."

"Powers? You don't have powers. You have to leave or they're going to hurt you more. I can't let them hurt you more."

[katiestark]

"I do, and I need to control them to be useful, because I need to be useful. I can't leave. You're lying, you're not my brother. They said no one will come, you can't be here."

"No." Peter chokes a little when Katie says this. "Yes, I am, Katie. Of course I'm your brother. I'd never lie to you about something like that, but they lied. I came, and I'm here, and I'm not supposed to be here but neither are you." He tries to tug her to the doors.

“I can’t leave, you’re lying, they’ll find me again and hurt me again. I need to stay, if I don’t follow orders I get punished. I can’t.” Katie tries to resist Peter’s grip.

"No, I'll never let them find you again, and I definitely won't let them punish you." Peter tries to keep his voice steady and uses a touch of his super strength to pull her along.

“You’re lying, you’re lying, you’re lying!”

Katie tries to resist but is pulled along with Peter.

"No, I'm not! But if you keep screaming they'll hear and come and then they'll punish us both. Do you want your brother to become an even bigger lab experiment?"

Katie lets out a pained gasp and just freezes she wouldn’t wish that upon her worst enemy. She didn’t know if this guy was lying or if he was his brother but she knew she can’t risk that so she just lets Peter drag him wherever he’s taking her.

Peter heaves a small sigh. He didn't want to do that, but at least it worked. He pulls her along, breaking into half a run as he does so. They're almost to the doors.

Katie lets him drag her to the doors, even though everything in her body's hurting. Maybe Peter wasn't lying, maybe they were actually getting out of here, away from this hell. But before they could get out a handful of agents showed up in front of them.

Peter stiffens and stops in his tracks when he sees the agents. "That's... not good." He steps in front of Katie protectively.

Katie freezes when she sees the agents, she didn’t know what to do, they were so close to leaving yet now here they were stuck. The agents rush forward as they start shooting at them.

Peter immediately webs one gun, knocking it and its user to the ground. "Hey, Katie, you said you had powers, right?"

“Umm ya, I can’t…I can’t control them but I can try?” Katie closes her eyes as she tries to focus and make a storm. Everything hurts but slowly but surely storm clouds come up as rain starts to pour.

Peter barely has time to consider the rain. "Um... Wow," is all he gets out before he's throwing himself back in, trying to clear a path to the doors.

After a while with Peter’s fighting and the lightning and rain from Katie the agents are finally dealt with, the storm ends and Katie collapses on the floor her knees giving out from the exhaustion.

Peter shouts when Katie collapses, quickly moving to scoop her up in his arms. "You're okay, you're okay. Sorry, I probably could've handled that by myself. We can go now, okay? And we'll be home soon and you can take a nice shower and get as many cheeseburgers as you want and then sleep in your own bed."

Katie relaxes in Peter’s hold, the touch grounding her as her eyes close and she falls unconscious.

Peter high-tails it to the tower from there, swinging through Katie's bedroom window just as FRIDAY opens it. It's exactly as she left it, and he lays her down on her bed before going to look for some comfy, clean clothes for her. He thinks it's better not to take her to anything that could resemble a test lab right now. "FRI, run vitals on Katie. Fast."

“Ms. Stark’s heart rate is incredibly high. She is showing signs of dehydration, starvation and a multitude of wounds. Some seem to be infected. There are also severe burns consistent with prolonged electrocution. Medical attention highly recommended.”

Peter stiffens when she says this, doubling back to Katie and picking her up. Taking her to the medbay will be fine, right? "Okay, uh, tell Dr. Cho we're coming." He hurries down to the medbay.

Katie moves a bit in her sleep but settles back down in Peter’s hold.

Peter's been acting... off, lately. He went out for patrol a couple of weeks ago and came back ever-so-slightly different. Maybe it's the way he's been speaking, his long rambles shortened into two-word responses whenever someone asks him about a topic he's usually really into. Maybe it's his eyes, the way the spark of wild intelligence behind them isn't as bright as it should be. Maybe it's that he hasn't been interested in working with anyone in the lab lately, or that he hasn't been out for patrol, or that he's been spending hours locked up in the security room doing who knows what in there.

Regardless of any of that, he's in the lab one day, essentially just sitting completely still in his chair and staring at items like he's seeing them for the first time, when someone comes in and he stiffens, hands flying across his laptop screen to pull a thumb drive out of the USB port.

“Since when do you hide shit from me?” Katie looks at Peter trying to figure out what’s happening. She’s barely seen her brother over the past few days and whenever she has been around him he hasn’t been like himself. Everyone was worried about him including Katie.

"I'm not hiding anything," Peter lies, staring back at Katie. She's one of the harder people to trick, it seems, so he's been trying to avoid her. "I'm just working."

Katie looks at Peter analyzing him, before looking away. “So, what’re you working on?”

Peter shrugs. "A project." He shoves the thumb drive into his back pocket.

"Wow slow down, I can't keep up with your rambling." Katie says sarcastically. This is nothing like Peter, and she hates that she has no clue what's bothering her brother.

"Come on Peter, what's going on? You're not acting like yourself."

Peter shrugs again. "Nothing's going on. I think I'm acting like myself pretty well. Why wouldn't I?" He stands up, his chair rolling back a little bit with the abruptness.

"You think? Really Pete? Well I'm telling you you're not. Seriously I don't know what's up with you, but something's wrong." Katie let's out a sigh before softening her tone.

"You'll tell me if something was wrong right?"

Peter nods immediately. "Of course I would, and I'm telling you that nothing's wrong. Now get off my back."

"Fine whatever, I'm just worried Pete, you don't need to act like an ass." Katie looks Peter over again. Peter never talks to her like this, something must be very wrong.

"Then stop being worried." Peter's voice is annoyed. It's not the type of annoyed he usually gets with Katie, though, it's something more real and less personal. "I have to go," he says, heading towards the elevator.

“I can’t just stop being worried. That’s not how it works. Wait where are you going?”

"None of your business," he answers, which is definitely uncharacteristic of him. He waits for the doors to open, foot tapping impatiently.

Katie pauses at that. Peter never talks to anyone like that. It doesn’t matter how much he’s annoyed or angry he would never do that. Katie feels dread rising in her, something is very wrong.

Peter huffs at how long the elevator's taking, just wanting to get away from Katie so he can complete the job.

Katie keeps thinking back to everything's that happened. This is nothing like Peter, something is wrong she knows that but she has no idea what it is. Her brother would never act like this, ever. A realization dawns upon her and she gasps. This isn't Peter.

Not-Peter finally steps into the elevator, making one quick glance back at Katie. The elevator doors are taking a painstakingly long time to shut.

Katie isn't sure what to do, this isn't Peter, and that means who knows where her brother actually is, or if he's ok. She wants to confront him and figure out where Peter is, but there's a high chance that'll just end with someone getting hurt. So Katie takes a deep breath, and watches as the elevator door closes. As soon as the elevator moves, Katie rushes to the stairs.

"FRI, you gotta tell me where Peter or well fake Peter is going. Also comb through everything and tell me any off behavior that Peter has shown."

"He appears to be going to the Avengers floor, for which he asked for directions to the file room," FRIDAY answers. "He's been unusually quiet, with an uncharacteristic schedule and very little to no interest in leisure activities or patrol. In addition, his speech pattern is off."

[katiestark]

"FRI make sure you see everything he looks at, and block his access to any confidential docs online, but don't make it to obvious, he shouldn't even know they exist. And what do you mean his speech pattern in off?" Katie runs down the stairs going to the avengers floor and following Peter, she picks up one of Nat's guns that Nat keeps stashed everywhere. She knows it won't be much help, but it's better than going in with no protection.

"It's far less natural," she answers. "More harsh, and less telling of someone who grew up in New York. I'm closing the files now."

Meanwhile, the elevator is opening on the avengers floor, and Peter steps out. He begins to look for the room he needs.

Katie hides as she sees Peter, whoever this person is, get out of the elevator and starts looking through the floor. She tries her best to be quiet, she can't risk him getting suspicious.

Peter doesn't notice Katie yet despite his enhanced hearing, too busy trying to complete his job. He finds the room and lets himself in, then begins to comb through some of the analog files. FRIDAY automatically locks some of the filing cabinets, but he doesn't question the sound of the locks sliding into place.

Katie peeks into the room, trying to see what's happening. It's obvious whoever this is, came in here looking for some information, she just needs to figure out what and how, and where her brother is. She can do this, hopefully. Unfortunately luck was not on her side as she bumps into a cabinet.

Peter spins around to face her, his surprised look turning to an annoyed glare when he sees her. "What're you doing in here?"

[katiestark]

"I...umm...I wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out? I am bored. Umm ya."

[smarterthantonystark]

"I'm busy," he half-snaps, turning away again with an annoyed huff. "Just... give me an hour, okay?"

[katiestark]

Katie quickly hides the gun behind her back, she does not need this guy to get any more suspicious.

"What're you doing?"

"Looking for a file," he answers simply.

[katiestark]

“Oh what file? I can help you look.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Uh, I can do it myself, thanks."

[katiestark]

"Oh are you sure? I mean I know you can find it yourself, but I can help. Besides I have nothing better to do."

He looks away, swears under his breath, and looks at her again, firmly. "I'm sure. It's classified."

[katiestark]

“Oh come on, when has that ever stopped you? Or dad for that matter? You guys always tell me all the fun stuff.” Katie smiles trying to act normal.

Peter holds back a sigh, knowing he can't get out of this. He'll have to dispose of her some other way. "Okay, then look over there." He gestures vaguely to a far corner.

Katie nods as she goes over there and starts to pretend to look but is instead trying to look at what he’s doing. “Sooo, what exactly are you looking for?”

"A SHIELD file. One for the winter soldier project," Peter answers, trying to angle himself so Katie can't see him. If he can just knock her out and tie her down, he can get out of here soon.

[katiestark]

"Why do you need that?" Katie sees the guy look away and takes the chance to pull the gun out and slowly make her way behind the guy pointing the gun at him, hoping he doesn't notice until he's trapped.

"A project," he answers simply, not noticing that he's behind her until he turns around. He's cornered here, without somewhere to go, and his eyes widen ever so slightly. Spider DNA wasn't included in his making, so he wouldn't be able to avoid a bullet. He mutters a swear in Russian.

"Uh huh, is this project include impersonating my brother, because you sure seem to being doing that?"

[smarterthantonystark]

He scoffs, trying to act like he's not scared. "I'm not impersonating anyone," he lies. "Now could you put the gun away?"

[katiestark]

"Ya right. Who they hell are you? Where is my brother?"

[smarterthantonystark]

His shoulders drop a little. "...you're not going to buy it no matter what I say, are you? Well, either way, that's classified."

[katiestark]

"Ya you see I don't really give a fuck about what's classified when a random ass dude is in my home pretending to be my brother. So either you tell me what the hell is happening, or I shoot you and figure it out myself."

[smarterthantonystark]

He seems to level his options for a second. "...you wouldn't."

[katiestark]

"You wanna try me? Cause you just infiltrated my home, probably to try and kill my family and kidnapped my brother. You should be lucky I'm giving you a chance to talk instead of just getting rid of you for hurting my family."

He rolls his eyes. "This doesn't exactly feel like a chance to talk... But I'm not here to kill your family. I'm here for information."

“Trust me it’s better than the alternative. What information? And where the hell is my brother?”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Company secrets, and I'm not telling you that. If I tell you, you can just kill me."

[katiestark]

"Who are you working for? And honestly it's funny you think you're running the show, because you're not. Make my life easier and tell me where my brother is and maybe I'll convince my dad to let you live, or don't tell me I shoot you and as you slowly bleed out my friend FRIDAY will call all the avengers and trust me they won't be as nice as me."

"...Hammer."

“Hammer? He’s behind this? Fucking hell does he never learn? Where is he keeping my brother?”

[smarterthantonystark]

"...warehouse. West side, midtown. Hell's kitchen."

[katiestark]

“See now was that so hard. So here’s what’s gonna happen, I’m gonna call my family and they’re gonna talk to you and go rescue my brother and you better hope they’re in a good mood for your sake. FRI let everyone know what’s happening please.”

"They've been alerted, Miss Stark," FRIDAY confirms.

Not-Peter, in the meantime, is still eying the gun. "And what is it you're planning on doing?"

[katiestark]

“Keep you here till my dad can deal with you. How did hammer do this anyway? You look, sound act like my brother. How’s that possible?”

[smarterthantonystark]

He shrugs. "I didn't ask. Probably wouldn't be my place to."

[katiestark]

"Really? Someone completely changed the way you look and you don't care? Why'd you do this anyway? Is money really worth it?" Katie tries to think about the situation, she needs to know what's happening. She knows her dad will be here soon and he'll find Peter but right now she needs to get as much info out of him as possible in the few minutes left, for the sake of her own mind, because she knows as soon as the avengers show up, she won't be kept in the loop at all.

"You think they just changed my appearance and stuff? No, they made me. Got that kid's DNA at the stupid Stark Expo thing."

Meanwhile, the real Peter's still trying to break out of the warehouse. He's been going through a cycle of ramming into things, pacing, and tapping out morse code on the pipes for the past week. He goes alert at the faint but unmistakable sound of repulsers, though, knowing rescue's finally coming.

"They made you? What, how?" Before Katie can answer her Dad rushes through the doors, a few of the other avengers following him.

"Katie!" Tony exclaims as he rushes towards her making sure she's ok before turning his attention towards the fake Peter.

"Where's my son?" Tony asks his voice dripping with anger as he glares at the clone. Katie finally puts the gun down, knowing that everyone else can handle it now.

"Already told her, a Hammer warehouse in Hell's Kitchen. He's probably just fine."

[katiestark]

"Ya well probably doesn't really work when you kidnap someone's child." Katie says, before turning to Tony.

"Dad, please go get Peter back. He already told me that he works for Hammer and how Hammer wanted some company secrets or something."

"Don't worry Katie, I'm going to get Peter back, just go to your room and stay safe alright? I got it from here." Tony replies still glaring at the clone.

"Wha? Dad I can help..." Katie starts to protest before sighing, she knew there was no way her dad would let her help.

"Fine, but I wanna know as soon as Peter's safe!"

All the clone does is stand there, glaring between the two of them as if he has authority. Tony glares right back, turning on his heel with a huff and rushing out of the room. Katie and the clone are left alone again.

"You know you're acting real cocky for someone who managed to piss off all the avengers." Katie glared at the clone.

"Am I? Maybe I'm proud of that."

[katiestark]

“Sure, if you wanna die then great job, you did amazing.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"I don't care if I die. I wasn't supposed to exist anyways."

[katiestark]

“That’s fucked up on so many levels. Dude, you know you don’t have to do whatever Hammer makes you.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Yeah, no, that's definitely wrong. My purpose is to do what I'm told, and I was doing it well until you got in my way. Now somebody's going to kill me, whether it's you or Hammer."

[katiestark]

"If you cooperate which you are, no one here will kill you. Well as long as what you said is true and my brother is safe."

[smarterthantonystark]

"He's probably fine. It's not they were going to dissect him or anything. So it's hammer that'll kill me."

[katiestark]

“That’s assuming hammer actually gets to you, which he won’t because you will be going to prison for a long time.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Prision? If anyone should go to prison, it should be him!"

[katiestark]

"What makes you think he's not? He'll be lucky if all that happens to Hammer is prison after dad's done with him."

[smarterthantonystark]

"...That's reasonable," he mutters. Outside, the real Peter's being taken home.

[katiestark]

“Look, I do feel bad that Hammer fucked you over and I’m sure if you cooperate then you’ll get some leniency. FRI can you please send someone to escort the fake Peter to the cells.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Someone will be here to collect him in a moment," FRIDAY says. Tony and Peter are almost back to the tower.

[katiestark]

"Thanks FRI, and please let me know when Peter's back. I need to see him." Katie says before looking over at the fake Peter.

"This is it I guess, fair warning if there's a next time you come into my house and pretend to be my brother I'll kill you."

[smarterthantonystark]

"There won't be. Hammer won't try the same thing twice." He shrugs, leaning against a wall and accepting his fate. Bucky's on the way to collect him.

FRIDAY speaks again. "He and boss are touching down on the launching pad."

[katiestark]

“He’s here?” Katie gasps and rushes out to go see Peter as soon as Bucky gets there. “Peter!” Katie exclaims as she sees him.

[smarterthantonystark]

Peter shakily grins when he sees Katie, limp-running forward to hug her. "Hey, Katie. Miss me?"

[katiestark]

"You're ok, you're ok, god I'm so sorry. I should've noticed. I'm sorry. Are you hurt? What did they do?" Katie runs forward and wraps Peter in a hug.

[smarterthantonystark]

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm okay." He's got a lot of bruises, scrapes, and cuts, mostly around his wrists and ankles, and his clothes are half-shredded, but he's not too rough otherwise. "Nothing serious. I tripped on the way out. I was knocked out for a few days, they ran out of drugs four days ago and I hung out in a cage for a little bit. No big deal."

“Cage?” Katie whispers as tears flood her eyes but she keeps herself from crying. Peter looks terrible and it’s breaking her heart seeing him like this. “We need to get you checked out.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Yeah..." Peter quickly shakes his head. "No, no, I'm fine. No doctors."

[katiestark]

“Peter no offense but you look like shit and you just told me those assholes kept you in a cage, you need a doctor.”

[smarterthantonystark]

Peter stares at her for a second, hoping she can draw some understanding about what exactly happened. "Please? Just... Just give me a few hours, and if you really need it we can go see Bruce in our workshop. Just no real doctors for now, and not the medbay."

[katiestark]

Katie nods when she finally gets a good look at Peter’s face.

“Ok ya, I’m sorry we can, that’s a later problem, we can ask Friday to run a scan and if need be we can get Bruce to check you in, but I won’t make you go to the medbay.” Katie nods running a hand over Peter’s cheek.

“Fri run a full scan for Peter please.”

Peter leans into Katie's hand with a small sigh.

"Peter's heart rate is slightly elevated, and his ribs seem to be bruised. He has a twisted ankle as well, as well as minor lacerations and slight malnourishment. He'll be okay with rest and food."

"Ok, ok we can handle that. Let's get some food in you, and then you can sleep."

"Yes, please," Peter says, voice not far above a whisper. He starts limping towards the door.

Katie helps Peter walk as they make their way over to the living room and Katie helps Peter onto the sofa. “Why do you want to eat?”

Peter practically collapses on the sofa. "Uh, whatever. Peanut butter sandwich?"

“Coming right up.” Katie smiles before putting a blanket over Peter and going to the kitchen to the make the sandwich.

Peter leans on the kitchen counter in the morning, waiting for some slightly-rubbery scrambled eggs to finish cooking while he scrolls on his phone. Everything's perfectly normal beyond a slightly off-looking lamp in the background, which he hasn't noticed. This is just another morning. He raises his line of sight from his phone when he hears someone approaching, and smiles at them. "Good morning!"

In reality, Peter lays on a cot in the medbay, where he's just arrived. He has a concussion which has sent him into a coma, in addition to a multitude of other injuries that are trying to rapidly heal themselves. Doctors are swarming him, desperately trying to get him stable.

"Good morning! What're you cooking?" Katie smiles as she comes up and peeks at the stove.

It all happened so fast, Katie doesn't even remember much, it was all a blur. All she could see was Peter still. Even now that was all she could see as she sat at his bedside holding onto his hand. It didn't feel real, or maybe it hadn't hit yet because she felt numb.

"Eggs! Well, trying to." Peter walks over to the stove and pokes at the eggs, then whisks them again.

A doctor hooks a monitor up. It's showing a level of brain activity, which is a good enough sign.

“Just be careful not to burn the kitchen down.”

Katie stares at Peter face before slowly running her hand through his hair.

“Wake up Petey, please.”

"Yeah, yeah, I won't." Peter laughs, sprinkling some cheese on top and whisking it again. "It was your fault last time it almost burned down, for the record." He feels faint pressure on his head, but ignores it.

Peter lays there, an odd sort of relaxation to his stillness. He's usually never truly still, even in unconsciousness.

"It wasn't my fault! It was yours, you're the chemistry guy!" Katie reaches over and ruffles Peter's hair before sitting down on one of the stools.

"You know this is getting kinda old. You had your fun, now you have to wake up. I'm so beyond bored without you annoying me, it's crazy." Katie chokes out as tears start streaming down her face.

"Sure, but you're older!" Peter laughs, gently batting Katie's hand away.

Peter's hand twitches slightly, but he doesn't wake up.

“That doesn’t mean I know how to bake!” Katie laughs.

Katie feels Peter’s hand twitch and hangs onto that movement because it means her brother is still there.

"You should know better!" Peter laughs, too, then passes a plate of eggs over.

Eventually, Peter's head lolls to the side. The respirator is doing less of the heavy lifting, now.

Katie rolls her eyes as she takes the plate and starts eating the eggs.

"Thanks, these are suprisingly good, did you learn how to cook overnight?"

Katie gasps at the movement and squeezes Peter's hand.

"Come on Pete, you gotta wake up, please. I can't handle all of dad's fussing alone, you know that."

"Really?" Peter grins, but the dream blurs a little at the edges. That's not realistic, and this of all things seems to jog his brain to know that.

Peter's hand twitches gently against Katie's.

“Ya these are good…you have to wake up.”

“Peter you have to wake up. Who’s gonna annoy me and make me lose my mind if you're like this?”

"Wake up? What do you mean wake up?" Peter furrows his eyebrows, and the dream vanishes. His eyes flutter open in the medbay.

Katie gasps and lets out a sob as Peter finally opens his eyes.

"You're up, oh my god you're awake. You're ass is so grounded, I'm not letting you out of my sight ever. Are you ok? Does it hurt?" Katie rambles as she continues to cling onto Peter's hand.

[smarterthantonystark]

"You can't ground me, you're not Mom or Dad," Peter slurs. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. What happened? Why's my head hurt? I'm hungry."

[katiestark]

“Sure I can, you almost died I think that lets me ground you. Your head hurts because your dumbass was in a coma. I’m gonna call the doctor to check on you.” Katie presses the button to call the doctors before moving back to Peter, checking over him like he might disappear.

"I didn't almost die," Peter protests, though he really doesn't know if that's the truth. "Wait, coma? How'd I do that? And I don't need a doctor, I'm fine. A bag of ham and a nap will fix me."

[katiestark]

"Ya right, you're not leaving the medbay unless the doctor gives the all clear, you're stuck here. And you did almost fucking die seeing how you were in a goddamn coma, so don't give me that bullshit. You have a concussion and so many more injured, and if it wasn't for your powers, god I don't even wanna think about it."

Peter groans, falling back into the cot. "A coma isn't the same thing as almost dying! A little concussion is no big deal." He's been slurring half this time. "And I can't even feel anything." He's on a ridiculous amount of pain medication. "And my powers are stitching me up, so it's fine!"

The doctors have certainly taken note that Peter's awake seeing as his drowsy speaking is getting increasingly passionate, and a couple come over to check his vitals and all that. He barely addresses them, focused on Katie.

“Lie the fuck down or I swear to god you’ll regret it. A coma is terrible and you sure as hell know it, and you’ve been slurring every single world like you’re drunk so I don’t wanna hear your bullshit about being fine!”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Sure, a coma isn't great, but... I'm still okay!" He hesitantly lays down, though.

[katiestark]

“Barely, so please just let the doctors check on you. I’m begging you.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"...Okay." The doctors work around them, Peter tracking them with his eyes every step of the way. They finish up and Dr. Cho says, "we're going to keep him for observation for a little while, but he seems fine. His healing factor did its job."

Katie lets out a breath she didn’t know she was holding.

“Thank you, thank you so much.” Katie wipes the tears off her face as the doctors leave. She turns back to Peter and just holds onto his hand. “You have no idea how relieved I am.”

Peter squeezes Katie's hand firmly. "I'm glad you care, at least."

"Of course I care. You're a dumbass sure, but you're my baby brother. I love you Pete.''

"I love you, too." Peter blinks at her slowly. "Can we get cheeseburgers?"

"No, you're in the medbay after a coma, you're not eating cheeseburgers until the doctors clear you."

“Ya that’s exactly what it is and not the fact you’re hurt and your body needs something light that’s easy to digest. FRIDAY can you ask someone to bring over some food for Peter.”

Peter's been dating Flash Thompson for a few months now. He thought it'd be fine, that all that bullying and stuff was behind them and that they could have a real, healthy relationship. That wasn't the case. He hits him, gaslights him, and holds the fact that he knows both of Peter's secrets as reasons why Peter can't break up with him. Besides that, it's better if Peter's the one getting hurt than someone else, right?

So he stays. He hides the bruises until they heal, and he keeps his feelings bottled up. No one sees him cry, and no one seems to notice the less than good effect Flash seems to have on him. He's getting home after a date one night, a bruise already forming around a reddened eye, and runs straight into someone. "Uh... Hi."

"Hey, where are you running off to Peter?" Katie smiles before noticing Peter's eye.

"What the hell Peter! How'd that happen?" Katie ask worriedly as she takes Peter's face in her hands, checking his eye.

"Just coming in from hanging out with Flash," Peter answers a bit too quickly, letting Katie check him. "It's from patrol."

“Patrol? But if you were with Flash when did you go on patrol?”

"Uh... Before that?"

"Before that? That makes no sense, if you got hurt before it should be healed by now, or at least starting to heal. Peter what are you not telling me?" Katie backs away from Peter a bit, before looking him up and down trying to figure out what's happening.

"Uh... Nothing important." Peter steps past her, heading for the living room.

“He come on you can’t just come home hurt and not tell me what happened! Peter what’s going on?” Katie asks concern shining in her eyes as she grabbed Peter’s arm to stop him from leaving.

Peter stops when she grabs his arm, sighing a little as he looks back at her. "Someone punched me, that's all. It's okay."

"Someone punching you is never ok! Who the hell was it? I'm gonna go give them a piece of my mind."

"No, no, don't, it's not his fault that I messed up!"

"You messed up? I highly fucking doubt that, but even if you did that doesn't mean someone gets to hit you!! Who the hell is is?" Katie asks barely containing her anger.

"Wait, is it Flash?"

"Uh... Yeah," Peter admits, slow and quiet. "But I was late!"

“He hit you because you were late? I’m gonna kill him.” Katie says as she starts walking towards the elevator to go to her car.

"Nope, nope, no killing people!" Peter follows her and grabs for her wrist to stop her.

“He hit you! I don’t give a fuck what you say, I’m gonna kill him!”

"You don't need to! It's fine!"

“It’s not fine! In no universe is this fine! Was it fine when Chris was hitting me? Because you were very opposed to that.”

"He's blackmailing?!? That asshole, god I'm gonna kill him. Who does he think he is? Why didn't you tell anyone? We could've helped Pete."

“Pete, I’m always going to worry about you, that’s never going to change. But you can’t hide things like from me.” Katie goes over and pulls Peter in a hug.

“I’m sorry I didn’t notice before, I should’ve but you can’t stay with him.”

Peter slowly hugs her back. "I just told you why I can't."

“Peter I won’t let him expose your secrets. Trust me, and even if that was the case, your well being is more important than anything else in the world. But Peter I won’t let him do anything, I promise.”

Peter's hesitant, but... he trusts Katie. "...how am I supposed to break up with him?"

“I know it’s hard, trust me I know, but you should do it however you’re comfortable. You can call him or meet with him, I’ll go with you, and you just need to tell him that this relationship is over.”

"I'll... I'll meet him. It's better to do it in person, I think."

"Ok, ok whatever you're comfortable with, but I'm coming with you. You're not seeing him alone."

Peter's 14 when it all starts. He's living a relatively normal life—well, as normal as he can when he's Tony Stark's secret son who lives in the penthouse of a tower that's home to Earth's mightiest heroes—the June after freshman year of highschool at Midtown Tech, helping his dad in the lab and volunteering with his aunt at FEAST twice a week.

One day, he's in the lab, casually sitting next to a box of who-knows-what that'd originally been in Bruce's lab. He doesn't know why they're in here now, but they are, and he's too focused on his science project to notice when a spider crawls out of the box and bites him on the back of his neck. He goes to bed that night with no problem, except for a weird itching sensation that he quickly writes off as a rash.

When he wakes up in the morning, though, something is definitely different. For one thing, he can see just fine without his glasses. For another, he's on the ceiling. In his alarm, he falls down from it and back onto his bed just as he hears a knock at the door—and the breathing of whoever's behind it.

"Peter? What the hell was that? Did you fall off the bed or something?" Katie opens the door and walks into the room, looking around and noticing the panic on Peter's face.

"What was that noise? You look like you saw a ghost."

"Um- I don't know," Peter answers, scrambling to sit up. "But I didn't fall off my bed! And, uh, it's fine, I'm fine, just... Weird dream, I think."

“Right, but that still doesn’t explain the noise. Anyway whatever, you sure you’re good though?”

Peter rolls his eyes good-naturedly, then nods. "Yeah, I'm sure." He scratches at the bite at the base of his neck.

"Oook, I guess. Get up then, let's go have breakfast." Katie scans over Peter again, something was definitely off, but she decided to let it go for now.

"Okay, yeah, just give me a second." Peter hops off his bed and heads to the bathroom, reaching for the handle to open the door. It comes off in his hand. "Uh..."

Katie’s eyes widens as she sees the door knob in his hand.

“What the hell? How the…what? How did that happen? Did you listen it up to prank me or some shit?” Katie looks between Peter and the doorknob incredulously.

"Uh, no, I didn't." Peter stares down at the doorknob, unblinking. It's got dents where his fingers are. "That's... Really weird, right? Not supposed to happen?"

[katiestark]

"No Peter it's completely normal for your weak ass to dent fucking metal. What the hell is going on? How is this even possible?"

Peter squeezes the doorknob a bit and its shape deforms further. He stares at it. "I- I don't know," he says slowly. "Maybe it's the doorknob. Give it a try." He hands her the doorknob.

[katiestark]

Katie takes the doorknob and puts in all her strength to see if anything happens the doorknob is not affected at all. “Holy shit. How the fuck did you do that? Are you using some tech or something?”

Peter watches her, bewildered. "No? I don't think so?" He looks at his hands with furrowed eyebrows.

[katiestark]

“There’s something wrong. Even cap can’t do that so effortlessly. We need to go to a doctor or something.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"A doctor? For this? What kind of doctor would know about this?"

[katiestark]

“I don’t know, maybe Cho, or if we’re desperate Bruce. But we need something. This isn’t normal.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"It's not normal, but it's not like I'm coughing up blood or anything. I feel fine!"

[katiestark]

“Really Peter? That’s the bare fucking minimum. We’re getting you checked out and that’s final.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"But that's a waste of time that'd better be spent running tests in the lab."

[katiestark]

“But what if something’s seriously wrong and you need medical attention? Besides we have no clue what’s happening and how, where would we even start in the lab?”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Uh... I don't know." Peter scratches at the bite at the base of his neck, then sighs. "Fine, we can go see Dr. Cho. But I'm going to be really annoyed if it's nothing."

“Thank you, and you can be as annoyed as you want to be, but this isn’t normal, and we need help figuring it out.”

"I could trial and error it out," Peter protests, "but yeah, let's go." He enters the hallway, twitching his leg slightly at the sudden new muscle mass on it but continuing to the elevator nonetheless.

They make their way to the elevator and Katie pushes the button for the medbay floor when they walk in.

"Anything else feel off?" Katie asks looking worriedly at Peter.

[smarterthantonystark]

"Uh..." Peter thinks for a second. "Everything's kinda loud. And high-definition. I think I can hear dad's arc reactor, he's in the kitchen. And this shirt wasn't too itchy last night, but it is now. And my breathing's not weird anymore for some reason."

[katiestark]

"You can hear dad's arc reactor? What the hell? How's that even possible? And your breathing's always weird."

[smarterthantonystark]

"Exactly, that's why it's weird that it's not." Peter rubs at one ear as the elevator dings, opening to the medbay. It's a slow day, and Dr. Cho immediately raises her head from a table she's sitting next to.

“Hey Peter, hey Katie, everything ok?” Dr. Cho asks as she stands up. “Not really, well kinda, it’s hard to explain.” Katie glances over at Peter, how was they supposed to tell the doctor that Peter suddenly had super strength out of nowhere.

"Uh..." Peter cracks a sheepish smile. "This is going to sound ridiculous saying it out loud, but, um, we think I might have superpowers. Because I crushed a doorknob. Plus I don't need my glasses when I'm usually, like, completely blind without them."

[katiestark]

"You think you have superpowers? Ok, that's a new one. How about you start from the beginning and tell me what happened? And we can do some tests to figure out what's going on."

[smarterthantonystark]

"Okay, uh, yeah." Peter thinks for a moment. "I had a weird dream—well, I think it was a dream—where I was on my bedroom ceiling, and I have this bite on the back of my neck that I got yesterday. When I woke up, everything was really loud and I didn't need my glasses and I broke that doorknob. Plus, I have actual muscles. And that's up to now."

"On the ceiling? there's no way that's not a dream." Katie says looking at Peter.

"That does seem unlikely. Let's examine that bite you were mentioning Peter. What bit you?" Dr. Cho asks as she puts on gloves.

Peter nods at Katie's words. "Probably unrelated."

"Uh, I'm not sure. Some sort of bug, I think. A spider?"

[katiestark]

“You got bit by a spider? Where?” Katie exclaims as she shudders at the thought.

[smarterthantonystark]

"Uh... The lab, I think."

[katiestark]

“There was a spider in the lab? The very sterile lab that has no bugs?”

Dr. Cho comes up and looks at the bite.

“Ok so the bite doesn’t seem to be infected which is good. Let’s just run some tests to figure out what’s happening.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Yeah, pretty much."

Peter nods. "What kinds of tests?"

[katiestark]

"We're gonna start with just getting your vitals and some basic blood work and see if there is anything off with that. Since you also said that you think you have enhanced strength we can try and test that out as well." Dr. Cho said as she checks Peter's vitals before preparing to get a blood sample.

[smarterthantonystark]

"Okay, sounds good," Peter says, glancing at Katie with slight nervousness. He's never been a fan of the medbay.

[katiestark]

Katie takes Peter's hand and squezzes it, as Dr. Cho starts taking the blood sample.

"Don't worry, it's gonna be ok."

[smarterthantonystark]

Peter hisses slightly as Dr. Cho takes the sample, squeezing Katie's hand back a bit too tightly. "Mhm, it'll be fine." He watches Dr. Cho finish taking it.

[katiestark]

“Fuck Peter, do you wanna break my hand? God!” Katie winces as she pulls her hand out of his grip.

[smarterthantonystark]

Peter startles slightly, pulling back. "Sorry! I didn't mean to."

[katiestark]

"Ok something is definitely going on Dr. Cho, because there's no way his weak ass almost broke my hand." Katie rubs her hand trying to soothe the pain.

[smarterthantonystark]

"I'm really really sorry."

Dr. Cho just hums, glancing at the blood and the poke site. It's already closed. "That's odd... I'll test this and make sure it's okay." She leaves to prepare the sample.

[katiestark]

“How the hell did this happen, this makes no sense?” Katie looks worriedly at Peter, something was definitely going on.

[smarterthantonystark]

"I don't know..." Peter answers, looking back at her. "That crate of spiders was from Bruce's lab, maybe he was messing with them."

[katiestark]

"You got bit by Bruce's science experiment and didn't tell anyone? Are you crazy?!?"

[smarterthantonystark]

"A little bit, maybe. But I didn't know!" In the background, Dr. Cho is working with the blood test.

[katiestark]

“You didn’t know that maybe there could be something off with spiders from the lab of a literal genius who works with radiation!” Katie exclaims before Dr. Cho comes back with the results of the blood test.

"I didn't know it was his spider! I thought it was a random spider!"

He turns to Dr. Cho when she speaks. "It appears that your... DNA has been mutated."

[katiestark]

“Mutated? Oh god is he gonna turn into a spider?”

[smarterthantonystark]

"That's highly unlikely," Dr. Cho chuckles. "But these new... abilities are the result of that. I can't tell for certain what else might happen," she admits. "But he's completely healthy as far as I can tell. Healthier than before, even."

Peter blinks at her, then at Katie. He's caught somewhere between being scared and wanting to test this all out. "So we're good to go?"

[katiestark]

“Yes, medically you’re doing great, but if you start feeling sick please come back.” Dr. Cho says.

Katie’s just staring in shock trying to process everything. “So you have superpowers, because a spider bit you? Ok ya that’s super normal, not weird at all.”

[smarterthantonystark]

"Yep, I will," Peter says quickly as he stands up. "It's one of the more normal things that's happened to us, really." He's bouncing on his toes, basically vibrating out of excitement to test all this. "Okay, uh, lab. Wait no, the gym. There's high ceilings there."

[katiestark]

“High ceilings? The fuck do you wanna do?” Katie looks at Peter suspiciously.

[smarterthantonystark]

"Um, don't worry about it." Peter smiles, his expression evident that she should be a little bit worried. "I'm just testing my body, let's go!"

[katiestark]

“I am gonna worry about it. You’re a dumbass, you’re gonna get yourself killed.” Katie sighs though she follows after Peter.

"No, I'm not," Peter says. Soon, the elevator takes them to the gym, and he immediately starts experimenting with the wall.

"Holy shit, what are you doing? You do know you're still a human right?" Katie says before pausing when she sees what Peter is doing.

"I know, I know." Peter pulls himself up, his fingers gaining traction on the wall before his toes do as well. "Awesome!"

“You’re…you’re…sticking to the wall. Is this a dream? What the hell?”

Open RP - Motorcycle

Katie has been dying for a motorcycle for as long as she can remember. Her dad always pushed it off, saying that she doesn't need it and they can buy one later, but when Katie stumbles upon an old 1999 Yamaha YZF-R1 she knows she has no choice but to buy it. One look at it and she's in love, so she wastes no time buying the motorcycle and getting it transported back to the tower. She can't wait to get her hands on it and start modifying it. Katie has just brought the motorcycle to the lab when she hears the door opening.

Open roleplay—Driving lessons

Mod: okay so this is really messed up within canon because 1. He drove Harley to the tower in their first real rp together and 2. That audi commercial with Spider-Man: Homecoming. Because of that I guess we're just going to say he's 15 and this is a prequel or something. If the characters didn't know each other then, he can be his usual 16!

Peter stands in the tower's garage next to one of Tony's more sensible cars. He's been procrastinating learning to drive for a while and by now, he definitely needs to. Technically, he does have a permit, but that's mostly been the result of pure luck and reflexes that've translated to driving a car decently, rather than actually understanding driving and road laws, because his driving instructor was surprisingly bad at instructing driving.

He turns his head to the elevator when he hears it open and smiles at the person who's taking him today. "Are we good to go?"

"Yep! This is going to be so fun, as long as you don't kill us, which you're not gonna because I am a great driver and an even better teacher."

"I won't kill us." Peter laughs, opening the driver's side door. "But yeah, it'll be fun." He gets in and stares at the controls for a moment. "Uh... How do I adjust the seat in this thing?"

“You don’t know how to control the seat things? You know what I’m not gonna say anything. There should be control on the side of your seat.”

"The side of my seat, okay." Peter leans over and sets the seat forward a bit. "Great. What next?"

[katiestark]

"Make sure you can see just over the hood, and makes sure all the mirrors are adjusted properly. Put your seat belt on and then we can move on to actually driving."

"Oh, right, yeah." Peter adjusts his seat and puts his seatbelt on. "Okay, so we put it in drive right?"

[katiestark]

“Well yes but you gotta start the car first, so hold onto the break and then start the car. Then put it in drive and slowly extremely slowly take your foot off the break.”

"Okay," he says, starting the car and putting it in drive. He brings his foot off the brake a bit too quickly and the car lurches forward.

“Stop, Stop, stop!!’l Katie exclaims staring at Peter with wide eyes.

“I said slowly!”

"I was going slowly!" Peter protests.

[katiestark]

"That was not slowly! You don't just take your foot completely off the break! You slowly take it off, like extremely slowly! Not whatever that was!"

"Okay, yeah, sure, I get it! Do you want me to start over?"

[katiestark]

“Yes, this time slowly take your foot off slowly.”

"I understand." He starts over, and this time, takes his foot off much slower.

“Ok good, that’s good, now just keep releasing the break slowly and don’t press the accelerator yet, were just gonna drive a little like this before giving the car some speed ok. Just pay attention to the road.”

"Okay, yep." Peter releases the brake the rest of the way and they keep moving down the road. It's not long before there's a car behind them, honking because they're going so slow. He flinches at the suddenness. "That's not great."

"Ok, it's fine, just slowly press down on the accelerator and pick up some speed, don't let it get more than 20 mph though. It's New York people are used to others driving like idiots." Katie nods trying to not panic.

Peter slowly does as he's told, and the car's speed picks up. "But shouldn't we not drive like idiots?"

[katiestark]

"Crashing would be worse so I'll take driving like idiots, and see you're doing good. Just keep going straight for now, you see that stop sign ahead? You're gonna stop there for a second and then turn left. Put your indicator on."

"Got it." Peter flicks the lever down and the turn signal turns on. He does as instructed and turns left.

“That was great, ok now slowly pick up speed. Not a lot just a little.”

Open Roleplay

yes i'm aware his birthday was last week this is coincidental-ish. maneuver timelines however you need for your muse to fit. I know this is long im sorry.

It was Tony's birthday party. Specifically, it was his 38th birthday party, and less two weeks ago, he'd held a press conference shutting down Stark Industries weapons manufacturing division after he returned from Afghanistan. The arc reactor weighed heavily in his chest, in every sense of the word.

It was a surprise party. Tony hadn't known about it, he'd been going up to his home with Obie next to him. He'd been the one to organise it, and when Tony had immediately protested, he'd heavily slung an arm over his shoulder: "You're out of the business of war, my boy. You've got to keep your connections somehow. Time to get better at the business of partying." Like Tony had ever been bad at that. There's a look in Obie's eyes that Tony can't decipher.

And now he's half-tipsy. He hadn't planned to be - not ever again, actually, after 3 months brutal sobriety - but Obadiah had pushed whiskey into his hand and he never could say no to it. He's still watching him. Tony's trying very hard to get the two women tripping over themselves as they speak to him at the bar to leave him alone when someone else approaches.

“Daddy?” Katie looks up at Tony, she hated whenever he acted like this. She knew she wasn’t allowed downstairs when her dad had people over, but she had a nightmare that her dad was gone again and she needed to see him.

Tony frowns when Katie appears, immediately pressing the women away and scooping his daughter up, despite the strain it puts on his chest. "What's wrong, little miss?" He's a little drunk--

“I had a nightmare.” Katie mumbles as she hides her face in Tony’s shoulder, tears streaming down her face.

*They were working on some stuff in the lab and Tony had gone to get some food. They heard the door open and didn’t even bother turning around.* “I swear, if you brought anything with mushrooms, this wrench is gonna go into your head. Today isn’t the day to try me with that.”

“I hate mushrooms too, so great choice though I am very tempted to hit you with a wrench since you’re threatening me in my home. So how about you tell me who the fuck you are and what you’re doing here.

*They stiffen immediately, their fingers tightening around the tool in their hands and slowly turn around.* “I was working with Tony on the car, we met recently since I was adopted by Bucky and Sienna and apparently I need to make more friends. Who are you?”

“You were adopted by Bucky and Sienna? That makes sense, I’m pretty sure they have a problem and just adopt everyone. I’m Katie.”

*They snicker quietly at that.* “You’re not wrong about them having a problem and adopting everyone that they possibly can. I’m Anna.”

“Nice to meet you Anna. So you’re working on a car? What car? Where is dad anyway?”

“It’s an old model of a something that I keep forgetting. And he said he was going to get food but I have no idea if that means ordering or making food.” *They point towards the old, red car that they had been messing with for the past two weeks, looking towards her with a small smile.*

“That’s awesome dude.” Katie looks over before walking over to her own desk and pulling up her project.

“For the sake of humanity I hope he’s not cooking, he might burn the entire place down.”

“Hey dad! Happy Birthday!” Katie smiles as she runs over and hugs Tony.

Tony ssmiles and returns the hug. "Thank you, kid."

“How does it feel being ancient? Do you have any plans for the day? What’re you doing?”

"Everything aches," Tony replies dryly. "My plans are to eat a lot of cake. Beyond that, nada."

“Alas the side effects of being a super hero and getting old. But overall great plans.”

Tony sighs dramatically. "The sacrafices I make. And yes, I agree. Company would be nice."

"Good, cause I wasn't really planning on leaving you alone for too long anyway. Come on, what'd you wanna do? Let's do something fun."

Tony hums in consideration. "Mm, I think my daughter owes me at least some icecream," he decides.

Katie laughs softly shaking her head.

“How about some food and then we get ice cream?”

Another smile. "Sounds wonderful, kid. Lead the way.'

Katie smiles as they walk over to the elevator.

“You actually don’t have plans for your birthday this year?”
