I can also recommend this video to anyone who isn't caught up on the situation, hasn't seen all the context and screenshots, or is interested in what happened with gooseworx and/or funkyfrogbait.

And I wanted to retract something I've said earlier. While I originally didn't think what funkyfrogbait did was a microaggression, I agree with Dankyjabo that, at worst, it could potentially be one.

That being said, as a reminder, please form your own opinion about all of this; don't just believe whatever someone on the internet tells you. Go watch Dankyjabp's video, or find the clips and screenshots elsewhere, and draw your own conclusions.

We need to stop bringing up George Floyed whenever a white person dies.

The entire case of Henry Nowak's death is a tragedy. An 18 year old boy died because of the negligence of police officers. But this has NOTHING to do with George Floyed. If you want to talk about the current state of the UK police you are more than welcome to, and you should! But screaming and crying that people aren't upset about this is at best insensitive and at worst downright malicious.

People are upset about Henry's death and we are very much upset that the officers on the scene were dismissive of his injuries.

Unlike with the George Floyed case and many similar ones, the murderer of Henry Nowak is facing life in prison (with a minimum of 21 years). Although this very much is a good opportunity to talk about how the UK police are massive wankers with no regard for the people they're supposed to be helping and protecting, this is NOT the time to start comparing struggles and complaining that people don't care.

torrents work like this

i have a file or folder on my pc that i want to share with other people. let's call it gayshit.mp3

unfortunately gayshit.mp3 is 750mb and im not paying for discord nitro so i need another way to send it

i put it into qbittorrent and it makes a torrent file. this is essentially a very small file that points to gayshit.mp3 so other computers can find it. kinda like a treasure map

i send this tiny file to my friend, who loads it into qbittorrent. their computer takes a moment to find mine over the vast expanse of cyberspace and then (as long as my pc is running and the file is still where it should be), it gets copied from my hard drive to theirs

this is the cool part: if somebody else loads that tiny file, they can download it from both of us. if i'm offline but my friend is on, the third person can still get it. this also means that if two people have separate halves of the file, they can download the other half from each other. as long as some combination of people have the pieces between them, they can all have the whole thing.

crucially this does not require a server!!! you can just upload the file to a few people and as long as they keep it, it's still accessible. as long as somebody, somewhere is still connected, it's available forever. the only way it goes away is if everybody disconnects from it.
