listen, catras mask has powers. (my theory)
I was watching the 80’s She ra and there’s this one episode (magicats ep.62) but basically
• Catra comes across a hidden cat kingdom and they see the stolen mask she’s wearing that used to belong to their old queen and so they think catras they’re long lost queen.
• She takes advantage of this but then she ra comes and is like “she’s a fraud” and the cat citizens are like “if she is truly our queen then she can prove it by demonstrating the powers from her mask because only the queen can use its powers”
• and somehow catra figures out how to use the mask even tho she had no idea it had powers till like 2 seconds ago and freezes she ra.
• then you know she ra finds a way and defeats catra and eventually tricks the horde into returning their true queen and they’re safe in their hidden kingdom
BUT this is when I realized something
• so in the episode catra mentions that she didn’t always have the mask but hordak gave it to her after taking it from one of his prisoners (the queen) because he deemed it useless
• I noticed that when we saw those memories of catra she didn’t have the mask until we see her in the present now, probably because like the 80’s reboot, it wasn’t given to her (stolen from?) until later
(I spent like 2 hours looking for these pictures)
• if the reboot is following the same story line of having catra receive her mask later, that leads me to believe that the mask will have some sort of importance in the show
• I also think that the real queen is going to be in the reboot as well because in this picture, a lot of people thought that this was catra
• when it’s honestly more likely that this could be the true queen of the cats being portrayed as the orange one
• I also feel as if catra will actually have some connection to this cat kingdom because of the fact that she has more cat like features, unlike the original where she was just a human with the magic ability to change into a cat, so she could impersonate being one of them
In conclusion? Catras a princess who’s possibly related to the cat queen and her mask has powers, originally the cat queens until hordak took it and imprisoned the queen and took away catra after the horde invaded their kingdom and eventually gave the mask to catra
