So this happened. 💇
I want to permanently deactivate my Facebook if it weren’t for the fact that people seem to forget my existence when I’m not on there. I’d very much like to keep existing if I can help it.

The process for this was: It was the strangest week in L.A. it rained every day I was there. It had cleared up a bit but not enough to keep us from losing the light early.
I love working with Kathleen, so we kept things going trying to do the best we could with truly deplorable lighting.
This was the last thing we did. It was just an notion: a figure behind the glass casting a shadow–I’d been thinking about the opening to the Pang Brothers’ The Eye (it’s extremely well done).

I was pretty stoked to go to #BigSur. (à Big Sur, California)
I'll always be the girl at the party reading a book in the corner.
My week-long artist residency and retreat by #BuoyRR was so energizing, inspiring, and powerful for me in so many ways that I can't even properly articulate all of my feelings. I am so thankful for all the beautiful, creative souls I have met and with whom I have collaborated these past seven days. To @marissalynnla, thank you so much for taking a chance on me and helping me get there. 💕 And thank you to @olimpiadior for taking this photo and for your magical presence and support. ✨
I’m quiet, but typically because I’m trying to listen or be present.
I’m inarticulate, but typically because my brain moves faster than my mouth.
I’m impulsive, but only because I want to live my life without regret.
I’m clumsy, but only when it comes to material things.
I’m depressed, but that doesn’t prevent me from pursuing happiness.
I’m furious, but that doesn’t prevent me from trying to change things.
I’m patient, but that is not to say that I don’t have limits.
I’m forgiving, but that is not to say that my wounds disappear.
I’m nurturing, but I recognize when my efforts are taken for granted.
I’m loving, but I recognize when I deserve better.
I can't discern whether my ability to detach from people easily is a form of self-sabotage or a defense mechanism.

My last trip out to L.A. was pretty much a cluster fuck of truly epic proportions. The highlight of the trip though was meeting and making photos with the angelic and thoroughly intriguing Kathleen Truffaut.
(An extra special shout out to @jacsfishburne–without whom the above would not have happened.)

What do you do when you have to choose between function and feeling? Sanity and sensation? Perception and pleasure?
