heyo! this is a repost from my main blog since i just decided to open this one up. dragons rising season 3 pulled me back full force into the realm of ninjago and the obsession has been evolving since then. i've been a fan of the show since mid-2010s a little before possession came out. i was never too obsessed until dragons rising and i imagine that love's not gonna die any time soon, so i decided to bring on another blog o7
i love love LOVE the young ninja. sora is my favorite especially but the entire group is just too cute. i have a lot of incorrect quote templates saved so i figured i'll start with a dump of a bunch of them

Sora: A pessimist sees a dark a dark tunnel.
Arin: An optimist sees light at the end of the tunnel!
Frak: A realist sees a freight train.
Wyldfyre: The train driver sees three idiots standing on the tracks.
Lloyd: For self-defense reasons, Frak is going to pretend to be a burglar and you guys have to react wisely.
Arin, Sora, Wyldfyre: Okay.
Frak: If you don’t want to die, give me all your money!
Arin: Bold of you to assume I have money.
Sora: Bold of you to assume I don’t want to die.
Wyldfyre: Bold of you to assume I can die.

Wyldfyre: I learned some valuable lessons from all of this.
Arin: I’m guessing they’re all horrible distortions of the lessons you should have taken away from this?
Wyldfyre: Death isn’t real and I’m basically God!
Arin: Yeah, that’s so much worse.

Frak: What do you think butterflies taste like?
Wyldfyre, immediately: Bad
Frak:
Wyldfyre: What? I answered your question, didn’t I?

Sora: After you.
Arin: No, no, after you.
Wyldfyre, pushing past them: After me.

Frak: If you found out you only had one day left to live, what would you do with it?
Arin: Say goodbye and mend all my relationships.
Wyldfyre: Something illegal.
Sora: Accept my fate.
Frak: I’d message ten people saying that if they didn’t forward my message to ten other people, I would die tomorrow.
Sora: What?
Wyldfyre: That’s awesome! Can I change my answer?

Sora: *sneaks into the monastery with a large coat on*
Arin: Sora? Why are you wearing that?
Sora’s coat: *kitten noises*
Sora: Drugs.

Wyldfyre: There’s three ways to do things. The right way, the wrong way, and the Wyldfyre way!
Arin: Isn’t the Wyldfyre way also the wrong way?
Wyldfyre: No, it’s the right way. It’s just faster and more explosive.

Frak: So… are you into cars?
Sora: It was alright, I guess. Arin could’ve picked a better movie.
Frak: No, I mean… are you a car person?
Sora: I’m an engineer, idiot.
~*~
Frak: Is stabbing someone bad?
Sora: Not if they consent to it.
Wyldfyre: Depends on who you’re stabbing.
Arin: Yes?!
~*~
Arin: Let’s make a birthday cake together!
Frak: Isn’t your birthday in a few months?
Arin: Yeah, but the cake doesn’t know that.
Frak:
Sora: Well, we can’t argue with that logic, can we?

Sora: Next, beat three eggs…
Wyldfyre: At what? Hand to hand combat?
Sora: Maybe??
Arin: Alright, out of the kitchen, you guys! Let me do this.

Arin: We’re playing Scrabble. It’s a nightmare.
Frak: Scrabble? Scrabble’s great!
Arin: Not when you’re playing with Sora, she puts words like “sesquipedalian” and I put “dog.”

Lloyd: Where’s Sora?
Frak: Doing stuff.
Lloyd: I’m not sure I like the sound of that. Where’s Arin?
Frak: Trying to stop Sora from doing the stuff.
Lloyd: And Wyldfyre?
Frak: Trying to stop Arin from stopping Sora from doing the stuff.
Lloyd: …and what about you?
Frak: I’m supposed to stop you from stopping Wyldfyre from stopping Arin from stopping Sora from doing the stuff.
If theres one thing i enjoy about Wyldfyre’s writing, its how they balance her chaotic stupidity with how down to earth and observant she is. All because of how she was raised.
In DR s4, Wyldfyre was the ONLY human ninja between her, Sora, and Frak to keep her awareness and logic. In the tournament, she recognised suspicious traits in Bleckt.
That’s because of how she was raised. Sora and Frak were both raised in normal environments, they grew up in normal towns, with normal parents, they got to develop wants and needs and received them whenever. Because of that, their mentally more susceptible to ‘mind control’ and less likely to pick up ‘danger’ signs.
Wyldfyre grew up in the Wyldness. By a dragon. Essentially, she has the instincts and will of an animal. She’s good at picking up possibly dangerous signs in others, the way prey and predators would. And similarly to a predator, and the leader to other predators, she is able to recognise signs of danger in her environment, keep a strong grasp mentally, and be focused on the main goal without distraction.
All because she was raised like a wild dragon.
And thats not to say Sora and Frak are therefore weak to their desires and can’t do those things, because we saw them both logically come to the conclusion to find the ninja at all costs and take paths that would be worth it, but their mental strength does not hold up to Wyldfyre’s because they weren’t raised in a ‘rely on yourself, protect what you care for at all costs’ mentality.
They weren’t raised without a house/built shelter, taught how to fight and defend, how to find food, to survive, to let go of desires and wants when needs were on the line like how she was.
Idk I just find that really neat that she’s genuinely so reliable when she needs to be shes so silly. There’s probably other things that show how she was raised by dragons in the wild but yknow. I don’t have THAT great of memory.
I finished my cosplay just in time! I’m so happy with how it’s turned out—I even learned to sew just for this project. The only annoying thing is my wig is too small and I don’t quite have the skillset to make adjustments. This my second actual cosplay and I’m so very happy I got to invest in it so thoroughly. Sora (and the young ninja by extension) has quickly become one of my favorite media characters ever in such a short amount of time; I only picked DR back up earlier this year and it’s completely turned into a new obsession.
hihi, i’ve been building up a sora cosplay and i just got the mask today, the duct-taped ears are a temporary solution and i’m hoping to get velcro or something to attach them properly. i also need to get volume on the bangs and maybe thin them out which i’ll figure out at some point. other than that i now have the biggest parts done, time to move on to the outfit🙌🏽

frak i love you but how do i draw a snake. the many attempts vs the one i actually like
this scene is genueinly one of the most special scenes EVER in dragons rising to me. it was so soft and intimate and the way you could just FEEL all the emotions in this scene, the guilt the grief the everything, and the hug at end?? god. 10/10 scene 10/10 episode I will love ep8 forever and ever
Sora: A bit of a truck princess. She’s usually on self-assigned thermo duty and once finding the ghost room, will set up cameras at every angle and then observe from the truck, giving sanity, activity, orb/evidence, and hunting callouts. Frak taught her the EMF 5 chart reading trick but she only trusts the evidence and the journal; she never trusts anyone’s word alone on the ghost behaviors. If 2 of them die she’ll lock in and go inside. Unfortunately she has super bad luck and usually dies immediately but hey, at least she tried.
Arin: Equipment provider. Being the master detective he is he usually takes the lead and is on top of the investigation, except when he has to babysit Wyldfyre and make sure she doesn’t kill them all (he tries to take or hide the cursed object as quick as possible). He’s basically the only one who plays normally, but he also won’t leave until they get a perfect game. If they can’t figure out the ghost he willingly sacrifices himself in the name of science, or if someone else is about to die he’ll lure the ghost to him instead. He’s also on photo duty.
Wyldfyre: Screams at and insults the ghost the entire time while simultaneously being its best friend by triggering cursed objects and leading her friends to death, especially if they take the items she wants. She has no fear and will run around yelling during hunts; she’s actually a master looper without even trying. That being said, they cannot play Nightmare mode or above because she ends up getting them all killed in one hunt.
Frak: Know-it-all. He’s pretty knowledgeable on the ghost behaviors and tries to copy the 1000+ hour streamers, looping and all. Except for the fact he jumps at every noise and movement and when the ghost is actually in his face, he’ll scream and run out of the house or hide. He brings all the equipment to the door at the beginning so they don’t have to go back, but he hoards all the incense and accidentally burns them during ghost events.
