Hi I’m Asrik! I like analysing and post random headcanons about ninjago, which this page is mostly about!

Fave character is indeed Morro I’m unhealthy about him

A bit more about me: I’m muslim and i am also Pakistani, born and raised in the uk though. I’m a tad bit sarcastic or blunt sometimes so please know everything I say is in a lighthearted or silly tone.

I do actually find it funny how they gave the two elements defined as gentle and calming and cool with small moments of aggression/violence to two of the most temperamental characters of the show

Though i do have to admit, their DR version is actually great character development for them both, because their elements are actually very naturally aggressive in real life, so it takes a certain level of control and wisdom to learn how to be calm and gentle and understanding, something both of them are in DR.

Zane’s writing might be so bad sometimes it makes us all lose our mind BUT the show never fails to show how much the ninja love him.

There are two seasons in the series dedicated to saving Zane no matter the cost, the Tournament of Elements and the Ice Chapter in season 11. Both show the ninja willing to drop everything to go save him as quickly as possible the moment they get a chance.

And even if you ignore that, all the ninja have such unique bonds with Zane its crazy

Kai got to the point of betraying everything he was the moment they lost Zane. He fell in to drinking and illegal fighting that led him into an even deeper round of depression over losing Zane.

Lloyd was so determined in finding and hunting down Zane he spent who knows how long trudging through miles of snow to find him, and almost immediately recognised who the Ice emperor was despite the giant mask covering his face.

Jay holds so much care for Zane too, with how often he spends time helping him out in fitting into the world and understanding things he doesn’t know. It’s so sweet seeing how Jay spends so much time bonding with Zane and trying to understand him.

Cole always gets the biggest grin whenever he sees Zane, not matter if it’s in a cage or not. You can tell how much he adores having Zane around as someone he can rely and depend on with how relieved he becomes with him around.

And whilst there is, unfortunately, not many Zane and Nya scenes, it’s easy to understand that the two have many similarities that make them so comfortable with each other. They were both classified as different from their teams in a way that was hard for either of them to overcome without betraying their true selves, until they both embraced that. Not to mention, Nya has always held a fondness for Zane from the small comments shes always made.

Hell, even Wu adores Zane so much as someone who is similar to Wu himself to the point a magazine calls them “(Almost) father and son!”, appreciating Zane’s discipline and care.

Man, if i wanted to i could even say characters like Skylor might’ve visited Zane often when he was captured by Chen, Pixal literally dismantled herself and lost her autonomy all so she can have Zane back, and there is a REASON so many fanfics depict Zane as one of the people who pay attention to Morro and his needs in resurrected fanfics.

There’s something so uniquely special about Zane that connects him to so many people that they feel a softness around him they can’t ignore. If i wanted to link it to qualities in real life that may make someone like that, it’s probably Zane’s lack of judgement of others and overall empathetic nature that aims to understand others.

Also just to add, none of this is to say that the ninja and co don’t hold an unfathomable love for each other either. Wu holds all the ninja so dearly close to his heart as his family, all of them so special to him that he’d probably lose it if they died and left him. Zane equally holds so much adoration for the ninja with how often he sacrifices everything he is and could be and feels so they would all be safe and protected and happy. The ninja have all similarly shown so much pain when losing each other. They were all so willing to lose their elements, something so deeply connected to their very beings, to save Lloyd. You also can’t ignore how they lost it when Nya ‘died’ too, with even Lloyd quitting being a ninja this time. Pixal also has such a significantly close bond to the other ninja that is just never explored enough on the show, similarly to Skylor too actually.

Mute Morro who becomes selectively mute because he doesn’t remember how to actually talk or use his mouth in any way to form words.

Dissociative Morro who, once resurrected, constantly feels far from his body because it’s not truly his body and its not a state he wants to be in. That, and the added ‘If I’m not the green ninja, who am i?’ He’s probably going through.

Chronic pain Morro because his body is no longer healthy and has went through death. So he has to face the consequences of all the stress and physical trauma he’s been through.

Constantly asleep but not in a way thats healthy because he’s also got insomnia Morro because seriously can you imagine the guy who is not only very likely a workaholic, but also someone who hasn’t needed to sleep for decades, have a normal sleep schedule.

Weak grip Morro post resurrection. He cannot he trusted with knives or any other sharp objects, because no one wishes to almost lose a toe again.

i don't remember if jay told others that he's adopted (i mean he told them in skybound but time got reversed and all those things actually didn't happen so like him telling other ninja he's adopted also got reversed??? you get me right???) so i got this idea for a short comic

well i'm pretty sure he could just say he's adopted behind the scenes or smth but ANYWAYS

Come to think of it, it really is insane that my entire country is burning alive and literally no one in the rest of the world cares. Sometimes I think about how good Wu seeing Morro as a son is for angst potential, not because I remotely care about their relationship let alone Morro, but like, Wu tried to save Morro, what would have been next? Is he going to have Morro stick around? Does he just expect the ninja to be okay with playing house with the person who’s been trying to destroy the world and trying to kill them and has been holding their brother prisoner for weeks and forcing them to fight him like. What was the plan, Wu. I feel like the emotional war zone that could have followed is fascinating.

See i get why so many people paint Morro in the movieverse as a reliable older ninja cousin to Lloyd, but also i just can’t help see him as a weird 16 yr old hermit who lives on their roof and the only person who knows that is Wu. Everyone else thinks Morro is dead or missing and everyone blames Garmadon.

Just imagine post-movie, Garmadon approaches Wu all solemnly.

Garmadon: Wu, whilst I have apologised to everyone else for, y’know…trying to destroy the city and neglecting my son whilst I was at it, I really feel like I should. Uhm. I should…apologise. For something……

Wu: *raises an eyebrow*

Garmadon: A-about-ah…. About…uhm…Morro….

Wu: *both eyebrows are now raised*

Garmadon: *visibly sweating* Listen, I have no idea what happened to him, but I am so sorry that whatever did happened in the first place? I-uhm- I don’t think I could ever move on if anything happened to Lloyd like that *sniffle* s-so, whilst I know it won’t fix anything, I swear- *fans the very guilty fire tears from his face* I swear I’ll do what i can to find him.

Everyone else is hiding behind a door, listening closely. They’re all here for moral support, and possibly calm any world ending battle down after this, because seriously what do you do after the guy who possibly killed your kid comes to apologise, and none of them are totally ready for what might happen. Will Wu cry? Will he, for once, yell at Garmadon? Will he lose it? The ninja and Koko are gripping anything they can at full strength, and Lloyd is five seconds away from breaking in. Everyone should be happy Garmadon only cries fire, and doesn’t sweat it.

Instead, he blinks, both eyebrows now raised to be hidden under his hat, and responds very confusedly:

Wu: I…see. Then, would you mind getting the ladder, he’s hidden away in a small space in the roof again and maybe your four arms will be more useful than my flute.

And then, in complete bafflement, they watch Wu grab a ladder and start yelling up at the ceiling.

Wu: Morro! If you don’t get down and interact with your uncle at least once this month I will put all your favourite books into a safe for the next week.

And Lloyd, Koko, and Garmadon look just about ready to faint when a voice, deeper then they remember but still that of a child’s, responds

Morro: You wouldn’t.

And Wu, who is supposed to be grieving a son lost long ago, says

Wu: I will.

At least Jay’s stories about a scary ghost haunting their secret base at night was true. He always did swear he heard scary chuckles whenever staying over a bit longer at night. Turns out thats just how Morro sounds when watching Ninja fail videos.

It’s really sad if you consider the fact that if Lloyd DID know about Garmadon’s ability to use shadow puppets/talk through shadows, that means he never bothered to use it to visit Lloyd, and Lloyd knows that. He never bothered to go see him the same way Misako never did, despite them both having the option to do so if they tried hard enough. Except they didn’t.

They both worried so much about the harm that may befall Lloyd if they didn’t leave they never realised just what they left behind. A boy who just wanted to be seen by the people who were not only supposed to love him unconditionally, but also be there with him. They both loved him so much that it hurt him in a way he likely can’t forget, no matter how much he longs for their arms around him, hiding him away from a world too big for a child unprepared.

But also, just imagine Lloyd, significantly younger than just his child ver, talking to shadows in hopes his father would respond. Because surely the monster under the bed needs a friend too, right? Wouldn’t they be under his bed too?

Yet the monster, in its love for the boy, refused to come near. Leaving a foolish child to babble at walls and doors and floors like maybe it would listen, and maybe it would respond.

It would be really cool if Lloyd talked to himself because of that guys do you hear me screaming

I like to headcanon that whilst Zane is physically way older then the ninja, after his memory switch was flipped it was like his age also reset to the age he was made as, a teenager/child.

Thats the only explanation for me when I remember he’s likely physically really old but he doesn’t act like it in early seasons, and now he does act like an adult??

And if we’re talking about my headcanons about Zane’s age I don’t CARE if it makes zero sense he’s mentally the youngest in the core four. Kai, Cole, and Jay just kinda look at him and think “there’s no way this guy is older than us.”, Look at each other, and decide he HAS to be the youngest.
