Finally got to see this beauty in person. Kind of bitter I couldnāt just reach out and open some of the books. The binding is so beautiful. Ā

Autumn is at university! Spending my saturday drinking coffee and catching up on reading š
Books & Tea
hey guys! itās currently spring break for many, although most peopleās spring breaks have already passed. i scheduled this post, so right now iām on vacation in washington dc!Ā
i travel quite a lot so here are my tips for how to study while you are traveling. keep in mind that these are for your average vacation trip, not heavy duty travel like backpacking.Ā
this is legitimately the hardest thing in the world. if youāre not a stationery addict, you can skip this part. (although i hope you keep reading!)
condense your giant pen collection into a small bag and include only these things:
1 mechanical pencil & graphite for it
an eraser
1 black pen for writingĀ
2-3 colored pens and 2 highlighters (in one color scheme)
if you need other supplies for a specific subject (like i would need a protractor because i have geometry) bring that too.
this probably seems self explanatory but itās really really reallyĀ important. make sure you have chunks of time set aside to do schoolwork, most likely in the evenings after you return from whatever fun activity you did that day. if youāre a morning person, try working in the early morning! i find myself to be more focused and alert right after breakfast.
if you need a planning system, perhaps bullet journaling? [my bullet journal tag] you can also use printable daily planners which can be found in my printables tag.
if you have online versions of your textbook, use those instead of lugging around a ten pound deadweight. chances are, youāre not going to use that whole thing. scan in the pages you think youāll need, or even the whole book if you want to be extra prepared.
make sure you also have what you need on your phone.
a white noise app [ noisli | relax melodies ]
download study music [ my study playlist on spotify ]
bring earbuds or headphones !!!
bring earplugs if you need them
make sure youāve brought your phone charger
you can easily find a general packing list on google, so iām not going to include one. here are some specific things you may need for studying:
book light - you donāt want to drain your cell phone battery because you need its flashlight on to work in the dark
clipboard - if youāre outside or somewhere else without a flat surface to write on, this will save your work
loose leaf paper - not a notebook! too much unnecessary poundage
i would consider myself a seasoned traveler (not really, but iāve traveled more than the average person), and here are some tips for traveling.
wear a cross body bagĀ and keep it in front of you to prevent being pickpocketed. if you must, bring a high quality backpack. (i have a vendetta against jansports and their zippers so i donāt recommend those.)
drink lots and lots of water - overstated but so incredibly important in keeping you healthy and preventing severe jet lag
have fun at your destination! youāre out there to do what there is to do, not study all day! you can study at home.

[17/10/16] A quick photo of my economics notes on devaluation today hope you enjoy āØš
Doing some seminar prep work which is due tomorrow (whoops) I need to start being more organised but Iāve been too tired and unmotivated. Iām determined to get back on track once again!
I need to cut down on my Netflix hours because Iām pretty sure Iām watching more Netflix at uni than I did at homešš
Feeling the blue vibes today~ life is looking up for me and mine and I am so thankful.
I keep changing my bullet journal layout, Iām trying to find the perfect setup for me and itās been a process! But Iām almost there, I think. Today Iām working on Baldwin and creative writing, being very productiveāØš
Back at it with the American Constitutionalism notes āļø finally got my mildliners and I am obsessed Hopefully I can get a really good grip on uni this year and keep on top of all my work āļø
hey so you know that vicious cycle of mental health making you unproductive which makes your mental health worse? donāt worry friend I am here with something that can help
just get one thing done. break the cycle. it doesnāt have to be some big task. in fact itās better if it isnāt.Ā decide on something that takes five minutes or less. keep it tiny and manageable - the key is to feel like youāve accomplished something, so when your brain is all, you canāt even do a single thing all day except lay in bed being useless, you can be like, oh but I did do something, brain, suck on that. it might not seem like much at the time but it helps a lot to have something tangible you can point to
do you have dirty dishes in your bedroom? get rid ofĀ āem. you donāt have to wash them, just put them in the sink with soapy water. done. easy.
do you have a pile of empty water bottles sitting there? good for you staying hydrated. but you donāt need a mountain of plastic reminders. throw a few in the trash or in recycling. donāt worry about chasing down every single one, just pick a number. get rid of 5 or 10. easy, manageable even if you feel terrible. done.
do you need to do something early tomorrow? get something ready now. just one thing. lay out an outfit. fill the coffee maker so you can just press a button tomorrow. pack your backpack or purse. bonus benefit, future you will have an extra few minutes to breathe in the morning.
do you have a pet? spend 5 minutes with your pet. cuddle them. play tug of war. make baby noises at them. your pet loves you. I bet they miss you when youāre sad. youāll both feel better.
has it been 3 weeks since you did laundry?Ā pick your clothes up off the floor and put them in a laundry basket. donāt actually wash them or even take the basket anywhere. just collect the clothes for later so they arenāt spread all over. itāll make actually doing them that much easier when you have more energy
did you manage to wash your clothes but not put them away? fold something. fold another thing. and one more. put them away. three things. you got this one.
did you do your one thing? good. Iām proud of you. even if it didnāt make you feel better, guess what? you did a thing. you got something done, you can be done now. you can go back to bed if you want.
I have learned from experience that doing nothing generates its own momentum. The longer you sit on the sofa doing nothing, the harder it is to get up. The best way to break the cycle is to get up. Just get up and do something small, the tiniest thing, it doesnāt need to be important. Some of the best things to accomplish are drinking a glass of water or going for a short walk and getting some fresh air.
4.10.2016 Studying in my new room and trying out some new writing styles. This year is my last bachelor year, after that two more years before graduating. Iām excited for the things to come
