her name was freddie oversteegen!
Freddie Oversteegen, Dutch resistance fighter who killed Nazis through seduction, dies at 92
The Dutch resistance was widely believed to be a manâs effort in a manâs war. If women were involved, the thinking went, they were likely doing little more than handing out anti-German pamphlets or newspapers.
Yet Freddie Oversteegen and her sister Truus, two years her senior, were rare exceptions â a pair of teenage women who took up arms against Nazi occupiers and Dutch âtraitorsâ on the outskirts of Amsterdam. With Hannie Schaft, a onetime law student with fiery red hair, they sabotaged bridges and rail lines with dynamite, shot Nazis while riding their bikes, and donned disguises to smuggle Jewish children across the country and sometimes out of concentration camps.
In perhaps their most daring act, they seduced their targets in taverns or bars, asked if they wanted to âgo for a strollâ in the forest â and âliquidatedâ them, as Ms. Oversteegen put it, with a pull of the trigger.
âWe had to do it,â she told one interviewer. âIt was a necessary evil, killing those who betrayed the good people.â When asked how many people she had killed or helped kill, she demurred: âOne should not ask a soldier any of that.â [âŠ]

Love, Simon + Book Quotes
Tragedy to Bliss
Poems of 2018 written by me, Kay
1
His hand slowly crept up her thigh
She bit her tongue, she wouldnât cry
She recalled the years of doing what everyone else wanted
All those years are what kept her haunted
The memories of changing her personality to fit the needs
Of people who never would repay the deed
Her mother would constantly yell at her
Youâre never enough, the woman would slur
Her grandmothers consistently corrected her
From how she spoke to what she wore, their commentary would never blur
The girl took a knife to her wrists
She wrote down many lists
The lists were written on how she could improve
However, the scars she left on her skin arenât ones to remove
They represented a darker time
One where the girl thought every action she took was a crime
But sheâs done with that now
Never again will she bow
Never again will she stand submissively by
Never again will she let someone else make her cry
Sheâs changed
She reminds herself
Sheâs no longer caged
She reminds herself
Sheâs the woman sheâs always dreamt of being
Outspoken and confident with each and every word
Sheâs the woman who quit fleeing
Fleeing from every criticism she heard
Then, it clicked
She grabbed his hand and removed it
She wouldnât let him go through with it
She stood and firmly swept her hand across his face
I have changed, she knows.
And walks away from him with a newly found grace.

She fell in love with him for he saw her
He saw all of her unlike the rest
The rest would fall in love with a piece of her
The innocent side of her, the funny side of her
But then there was him - him who saw all of her to be the best
He embraced the witty side of her, the gritty side of her
He saw the brave her, the broken her
She had given him each and every test
But he never ran from her
He never abandoned her
He became her best friend and she felt truly blessed
He would never lose her
He would never hurt her
Thatâs why they had to be best friends
He wanted a relationship where neither of them ever had to see it end
Little did he know that she had the same secret and guarded it just as well
The secret that she loved him and didnât want what they had to become hell
Yet as years passed, that secret became harder to keep
They graduated high school and neither said a peep
But when they moved in together the challenge grew harder
The tension was apparent and he was ready to sign for his own martyr
Then one day the girl came to his room saying she had a secret she needed to confess
He said he had one as well and that if he didnât tell it his thoughts would remain a mess
On the count of three lets tell our secrets at the same time, said the girl
Okay, said the boy, his stomach in a whirl

âI wish it could always be like this.â
âYouâre always there for me.â
âThe stars are the only thing that makes sense.â

âBut why would they abduct cows?â
âWeâll all be dead soon enough anyways.âÂ
âI wish we didnât have to sleep.â
âWhat do you believe in?â
âWhat happens after we die?â
âSeems like a silly thing to say, donât you think?âÂ
âAnd whatâs your excuse?â
âYouâll get it together soon.â
âSometimes I feel like Iâll never have it together.â
âItâd be better if people werenât so afraid of their feelings.â
âYou keep quiet and we both lose.â
âI wish I could save this forever.â
âWhen did you realize you were in love with me?â
âThe rooms spinning.â
âI loved you long before you knew.â
âIâm not afraid of death, I think itâll be peaceful.â

âDo you think weâve met in other lives?âÂ
âIâd come back to haunt you.âÂ
âWould you come back to haunt me?â
âWhatâs alternate universe you doing right now?â
âTell me a secret.â
âWhy havenât you told anyone?âÂ
âI wish we knew each other sooner.â
âYouâre a game changer.âÂ
âIâm a game changer.â
