He did train me in magic but he wasn’t exactly a stand up guy, being the Prince of Hell and all,” He paused, “Doesn’t necessarily make you the good guy, part of me thinks that you might be the villain in whatever story you came from, but I can understand that being treated in such a way deeply impacts the way you behave. Happens to the best of people.”

“Well the merge itself isn’t exactly pleasant, one of us was ultimately going to die so the worst thing that could have happened was that we both did. It did, I became the leader of the Gemini coven and still hold that title to this very day.” Kai chuckled slightly before shrugging, swirling the liquid around in his glass, “Well Prince of Hell and Employee of the Month don’t exactly go hand in hand now do they.” Kai smirked at the others words, taking a sip from his glass before leaning forward on the bar, “What makes you think that little ol’ me would be the villain and even if I was, my story had lot’s of villains- many worse than me. Such as Micheal, talk about a nasty piece of work. But I appreciate your words, there’s not many that see me that way and it’s truly refreshing.”

“Your younger brother? If you had to be twins to merge, how did that work?” Magnus didn’t approve much of killing. It was a tradition and he respected those but that was a little far. He laughed bitterly and shook his head, “Part demon. That’s how warlocks are made in my world. My father was from hell and I spent some time there. It was a long time ago but it was one of my finest moments,” He sighed, “I suppose you’re a victim of circumstance then,” He could understand that but he also believed that he wouldn’t have ended up like this if a part of him wasn’t already a sociopath.

“I’m not really sure of the mechanics of it all, but it did in fact work. We went into it not knowing what the outcome would be. Turns out as long as you’re a twin and part of the bloodline you can merge.” He shrugged, it was complicated and messy but Lucas wanted to merge with him to save Olivia and Jo, it wasn’t his fault that he was the stronger of them both and ultimately won. “Talk about your Daddy issues.” Kai commented with a small scoff as he took another drink out of the glass in front of him. “Yes, you’re right. I am a victim of circumstance- thank you.” Because he was the first in a while to see him as a victim and not the evil.

“All twins? That’s a hell of a lot of family,” Magnus replied and then his eyes widened when the other guy talked about the merge, “No offense to your traditions but that’s a little messed up. You killed your twin?” He exhaled a puff of air and began cleaning the counter. Normally he’d wave his hand and it’d be done but now he had to do it manually, “You’ve lived quite the life. Vampires sound a little different in your world too but hell is something I’m quite familiar with. It’s umm… Well, it’s where I’m from,” Magnus sighed and shook his head, “That’s not right. In my world, every warlock is different. They have a feature that makes them not quite human. Horns, reptilian skin, extra body parts or differently shaped ones. I had cat eyes and no navel. But we weren’t seen as abominations to our own kind.”

“I guess so..” He agreed, deciding to leave out the part where he had killed most of his in order to become the leader and live up to his abomination name. “None taken, it was entirely messed up and sort of... I mean I did kill my twin. But I actually merged with my younger brother, another twin- just not mine.” And the merge had worked, though he had taken part of Lucas’ soul with him and got a bad case of empathy that he couldn’t shake. “That’s not even half of it, don’t get me started on the prison worlds I was trapped in. You’re from hell? No offence but I don’t exactly see it as a prime place for property.” Kai listened to the others words and couldn’t help but think that the place the other warlock was from was a little too good to exist, “Well I guess that’s family for you, born different, treated badly, ended up a sociopath. Thanks Ma and Pa.”

“High Warlocks are ore often than not elected based on seniority. Would it be a correct to assume that it works differently in your world?” Magnus asked. He raised a brow, “Killed three times? Do they have resurrection where you’re from?” He paused and thought about the concept for a moment, “I don’t believe we have that kind in my world though the concept is interesting. I imagine they’re not highly looked upon by fellow witches who can generate magic themselves?” Magnus grinned and bowed his head a little, “Thank you.”

“A little, or for my coven it was. We’re all twins and when we’re twenty two we take part in a ritual called The Merge. Whoever is the strongest out of the twins gains the others power, doubling the strength they had, the losing twin dies but part of their soul lives on with the new leader.” It was hardly ethical and he would have thought as time went on they would have changed the rules, but apparently to them tradition was the only way. That and the coven sort of died out with him, apart from his sisters brats. “Not exactly, the times which I was killed in my prison world didn’t count, you couldn’t die in there. The second time was self inflicted because I had vampire blood in my system and when I came back, I was a new kind of hybrid. The third was decapitation, that sent me to hell for a while  but then the doors sort of opened for a brief moment and I managed to escape. I guess my ways of staying alive were through loopholes.” Kai shook his head, taking a long sip of his drink as he did so, remembering the words that were used against him as a child by his own family. “No, they were seen as abominations and things that should be taken care of.”

“wow, gee thanks.” slamming down harder on the table than she should have but was this guy for real? who did that? “i did realise stranger germs came as an extra with my meal.” sarcasm thick in her tone as she took the seat opposite him, her fingers playing with the wrapper of her useless burger. “maybe because some people don’t like to eat meat and it’s not all about you?” in answer to his question that before she had been to irritated to answer, not that her mood had improved much as she pulled her soda closer to herself. “yeah, well get your own.”

“You’re welcome, I’ve just saved you from a miserable eating experience.” He commented, opening the can of soda he had taken to his lips to try and wash the bad taste away. “I know right, you’d think you’d have to pay extra for that added bit of zing.” He continued to tease, just watching the small woman become more infuriated in front of him was entertaining enough for him to continue. “But we’re carnivores, we’re made to eat meat- but it’s the closest thing I’ve got to blood, still getting used to not drinking that, but glad to be able to eat food again and for it to taste good. You know there was one time when I got back from hell that my taste buds just didn’t want to work, everything tasted like cardboard, it was a waste.” Because he loved food, when you were stuck with the same stuff in the same supermarket for eighteen years you tended to appreciate new food. “I would but see I left my wallet at home, this way seemed like my best option to still get fed, clearly I picked the wrong person’s food to steal.”

“Glorified babysitter could be an accurate albeit slightly patronizing description, yes. It’s like being the head of a coven I suppose. I represent all the warlocks in Brooklyn and occasionally my kin might use magic thoughtlessly. There are other duties but I hate to bore you with the details. What you need to know is the warlocks - and sometimes other lost supernatural creatures - are my people and I look out for my people,” Magnus furrowed his brow at the mention of siphoner, “No, I don’t think we do. I assume that means someone who siphons magic. Do they not have magic of their own?” He smiled smugly, “I’m not one to brag unless it’s true. I said best cocktails in Wintervale for a reason.”

"I’m the leader of my coven, but I wouldn’t call what I do babysitting. I tend to be the one using magic thoughtlessly, but I’m too powerful for anyone in the coven to take down permanently. You know I’ve been killed at leas three times now, none of it has stuck.” He had always managed to find a way to come back, from death and from imprisonment, there was no getting rid of him. He couldn’t say he related to this guy much, even if he did describe their status as being similar, but then again, he never really took the traditional approach to being the coven leader in the first place. He was only in it for the power. “No, they can’t generate it themselves - so they have to use magical or supernatural sources to harness it.” Kai had to give this guy credit where it was due, it was a great cocktail, “Well congrats on getting the people of Wintervale drunk in a delicious way.”

Lincoln fell silent again, trying to analyse this person. He was arrogant and not phased by Lincoln’s mass. It seemed he could only speak of murder as if it were a game- a sick joke played on whoever would not play along. “Jus drein, jus daun.” He spoke, his voice as stoic as his body language. He knew the other male wouldn’t know what it meant but still, he believed in it again. Those who spilled blood deserved to have their own spilled in return. He once fought against such motto, but a bullet to the brain can really make you think twice. “Are you a murderer?”

Kai tilted his head at the other, scrunching his face up at the odd language he seemed to speak, “Gesundheit?” He simply replied, an amused smirk on his face as he continued to observe the strange specimen in front of him. “I’m not quite sure that summons me up...” He answered when the other asked if he was a murderer. “Have I murdered people, yes. But that’s not all I am- a better word to use is sociopath.”

Once he was done, he placed the glass on a coaster in front of the man, “I’m sure you’ll be pleased.”

“Why? Are they incapable of using magic thoughtfully or something? I mean you make it sound like your some sort of glorified babysitter.” Kai pointed out, kind of glad that he wasn’t whatever this guy was, he liked being a leader because a leader meant power and ordering. Watching over warlocks sounded like making sure that others didn’t set people on fire. “Do you have siphoners in your world?” He felt the need to ask, out of curiosity and honestly sometimes he hated feeling like an outcast. Kai eyed the drink for a moment before bringing the glass to his lips and taking a sip, “Not bad, not bad at all.”

“And yet it is perfectly okay for him to take over the governing of a planet?” Though of course, it was one where he was accepted as King but that was a minor detail in Loki’s opinion. “I feel you lack any determination to do well if you’d give up at the first hurdle.” Loki informed him, sounding a little bored with the conversation now. “Oh really? That sounds… awfully thrilling and dramatic.”

“Hey, I don’t know your world’s politics, I don’t know who this guy is or his platform. All I know is that your plans sound a little evil.” Kai pointed out as a matter of fact, holding up his hands in defence. “I don’t lack determination, I have plenty of it where it counts. If it’s a specific goal I’m after, I normally succeed. If it’s not something I’m bothered about, I’m quite happy to half ass the job.” Kai blinked at the other, crossing his arms over his chest, “I know it does, hey how about we sit down and I talk you through my life for the next four to six hours.” His tone serious although he was joking, only saying what he did from detecting the bored expression coming from the other.
