every single night i endure the flight of little wings of white flamed butterflies in my brain. these ideas of mine percolate the mind, trickle down the spine, swarm the belly, swelling to a blaze. that's when the pain comes in like a second skeleton, trying to fit beneath the skin i can't fit my feelings in. every single night's alight with my brain.

rose should have seen it coming— she was in a common room. but, c'mon, when a hungry two week year old baby is screaming louder than a dog whistle there isn’t much thinking to be done. so, naturally, rose just…nursed her child. even though she was completely covered, once someone walked in, she acted as if someone had just walked into her changing. “ uh— um, hey..h-hey youuu!!“ she squirmed, gently supporting her newborn’s head in an attempt to even cover up more.

kat can’t help laughing, before she puts her hands over her eyes. “ i’m here for my tutoring session with connor, rose. but, i’ll preserve your modesty while i wait, don’t worry, i’m not looking. ” she peeks one eye out from between her fingers and gives rose a smile. “ i hear breastfeeding is one of the top ways to lose baby weight. ”

“ hi!” liv said as she walked by with her hands full, trying to hold everything. “watch out! girl with a big guitar case and..a lot of other things that i’m about to drop coming through..” as she tried to move past the other person.

“ yeah —–  okay. i can pencil you in for a ten minute talk, but after that i have to get back to my senior project. it’s the most important grade and i don’t know where to start. ”

“ whoa, hey. alright, first off, i’m just here to ask if you have any notes to spare from your junior year. people helping people and all of that. i’m reluctant to admit it, but . . . i’m struggling in my sciences. and secondly, you must have some idea of what your project is about, at the very least. start from there and . . . well, spider diagrams help me out a tonne in the planning stages. ”

she’s been warned before, to not walk and look at her phone at the same time but this time she just couldn’t help it ––– it’s a snorlax!  sunny speed walks towards the area, not noticing the incoming until they were both bumping into each other. immediately strings of apologies leaves her lips, ‘ i’m so sorry, i wasn’t –– i wasn’t watching where i was going, ’ she confesses, her eyes casted towards the ground as she frowns even more when she notices her phone there. she looks back up to the other person, ‘ a––are you okay ? i didn’t hurt you right ? ’

There’s marking upon marking looming over me but there’s also the cast album of Hamilton screaming at me and how can I say no to Lin-Manuel Miranda? Right? I can’t. So instead I’m going to ignore my teaching responsibilities, buy a pizza and put on a one-woman show of the entire first act of Hamilton. Who wants to buy a ticket to the show? They’re selling fast.

the brunette rolled her eyes slightly. maybe she shouldn’t have been drinking in the middle of the day and it was a weekday. she was seventeen years old. wasn’t that what people her age were supposed to do? break the rules. “No.. i don’t need water. really, i’m fine!”

                 “ you are seriously twisted. ”  it’s a snide smile that appears on her face. she didn’t even offer her water. kat had tapped seriously into her sadistic side           watching somebody make a fool of themselves was her favourite past time.

I never did get why some parents feel the need to spank their child to discipline them. Try dancing and singing in public when you’re out with them, trust me that works far better and even works right up into their adulthood. It’s also a good way to get rid of them, it’s the quickest I see my kids move.
