Dinner Pasta Recipes to Try
Pasta is great for serving a large family or group of friends. It's easy to serve a large group without breaking the bank--and leftovers are easy to reheat.
Here are 12 pasta recipes to give a try. Foodie.com has partnered with KeepRecipes.com to promote this collection. Each recipe contains a type of pasta.
Any of these dishes can be made with a raw zucchini pasta or gluten-free pasta. While some may say that pasta is unhealthy, it's often the case that diversity and portion control is really more important--these can all be eaten along with a side of steamed spinach or broccoli.
We hope you enjoy cooking pasta for dinner and eating with a large group.

Peaches and Cidre: An Autumn Special
One of my favorite things to do around Labor Day in the Northeast is go peach picking. I'll grab the nearest niece or nephew and head to Silverman Farm in Easton, CT.
One of the funner things about peach picking as that you get to tasted as you go--it's even encouraged by the farmers. Picking a fruit from the tree and eating it right away just feels so natural. The other nice thing about sampling as you go is that you can find your favorite branches and trees--and make sure that what you're picking is great.
Once we have filled our bags and picked over 60 peaches, it's time to relax. Only after relaxing for a day or two can i think about cooking.
Some of the most attractive recipes for peaches I've seen are:
* Peach and Almond Toffee Tart
* Chilled Peach Tomato Bisque
* Peach Galette
* Vegan Peach Crisp
* Peach and Arugula Tart
Recently my wife made the pictured peach cobbler.
I decided to pair it with Stella Artois Cidre, which I was encouraged to try by Glam Media. It's Cidre, not cider. It tastes like a carbonated apple cider. Along with the peach cobbler, it really made me feel like I was tasting the fall. Many thanks to Stella for the experience.

Hanging With Friends & Lamb Ragu
Having friends over? The last thing you want to do is spend time in the kitchen and NOT with your friends.
One trick is to make a dish that doesn't require close monitoring. With any roast - roast chicken, roasted leg of lamb, roasted pork tenderloin - I find I'm checking the oven every 5 minutes for the last 20 minutes it's cooking.
A pasta sauce, however, can simmer for hours. Making pasta for 8 only requires a few minutes of attention when your guests are over.
1. Make the sauce before the first guest arrives, and leave it to simmer at a very low temperature in a thick pot with a top on to stop splattering and keep in moisture. When making the sauce, leave out half of the fresh herbs; to add back at the end.
2. Boil a massive pot of water before the first guest arrives. Leave the pot on the stove, with the stove of.
3. When it's time to eat, boil the water, and cook fresh pasta which takes < 10 minutes. With 2 minutes to go, add the herbs to your pasta sauce.
You'll have a dinner for the friends during which you only spent a few minutes in the kitchen.
I have to thank BlueApron.com for clueing me in to a Lamb Ragu recipe. I'll post the recipe once I have their permission.

Backyard Bash? Dial Up the BBQ
I cooked Barbeque Thai Chicken Legs--and they were delish! They'd be be perfect for the next time I entertain. The recipe involved two of my favorite things: a mini blender and a chicken rub.
The trick to this dish was making an awesome rub that goes under the skin of the chicken. The stars of the rub are lemon grass and lime. I asked for help at Whole Foods and was able to find lemon grass.
Tip: The recipe calls for coriander--which apparently is just British for cilantro.
Tip 2: Burning the chicken is totally ok flavorwise. I found the burnt lemon grass tasted the best!
I can't believe I liked a Jamie Oliver recipe this much. Props to the Pink Slime Slayer.
If you make this recipe at your next backyard bash or pool party, let me know in the comments.

Summer is for Seafood Celebrations
Summer is about the beach. And when it comes to food, I thinking about shrimp, fish, lobster, oysters...and barbecuing. When hosting a celebration in the summer, you need a mix of things made a head of time, and made while guests are there.
one of the easiest things to make ahead of time is a shrimp salad that can be served cold, or in sandwhiches. And after having too much seafood, our sponsor can help you out.

Blueberries & Bourbon (The Killer Bee)
Frozen Blueberries + Bourbon = Love.
Most bourbon recipes add something sweet. A simple sryup. Maraschino cherries. 7-up. I think that sweet flavor can also come from fruit. I recently had some blueberries starting to go bad, so I froze them for a smoothie. And then I thought....why not add bourbon? Thus the banana blueberry bourbon cocktail. The 3B. The Killer Bee. See the recipe.

Regardless, I'm gonna keep making & drinking this tasty beverage. You can see more of my cocktail creations on Pinterest.

Perfect Cocktail Parties
The perfect cocktail party has one thing: lots of booze. It's just that simple. But to spice things up, I recommend all parties have a signature drink that is seasonally appropriate. The cocktail is what your guests will talk about for years to come--it's how you can remember the party. Just hear someone saying: "Remember the party where you served the Ginger Tequila drink? Or the Watermelon Mint Vodka drink?
Here are some tips for seasonally appropriate drinks:
* Fall / Winter: Use a bourbon base. Think of adding cinnamon, nutmeg, bitters, apple, pear, beet, and pumpkin.
* Spring / Summer: Use a gin, tequila, or vodka base. Think of adding watermelon, basil, mint, cilantro, sugar, or ginger.
Two super easy tricks:
Make a ginger syrup by peeling and dicing ginger, and heating water, sugar and the ginger pieces. Strain and cool to use in drinks
Make a fruit flavored vodka by putting chunks of fruit like Watermelon or Pineapple into vodka and letting it chill in the refrigerator for 48 hours.
Overall, just don't run out of booze....and put a cup in everyone's hand.
It probably goes without saying, but don't serve a garlic or onion based drink...else you'll need to give everyone gum.
