Pride Mothman vest has some new additions

My most recent finished piece. Another birthday present for a friend in July. I never noticed until I was nearly done that the colors on the cat nearly match the colors of the fabric 💀 the fabric is 14 count aida in a pinky cloudlike print. I was going for a vintage vibe to match the classic sweet and cutesy design of the kitten. The outline was somethin else, I'd never stitched something lined like that before and it was an interesting process.

After much struggle, I finally got a good picture of my pride quilt!!! The quilt top is an 86-inch (218 cm) square.

I really love how the quilt top came together! I didn't have a solid vision about which blocks I would use to complete this project. The binding fabric is going to the same batik used to frame out the LeMoyne Star blocks in each corner.

The majority of the border is made up of 12 inch Friendship Star blocks. I really fell in love with the Friendship Star block and will definitely use it again!

I will definitely be longarm quilting this project and just need to schedule a time to quilt it.

it needs washing and ironing and mounting in a hoop, but! I finished my rat.

Pattern is by StitchcraftRatShop on etsy. I have two other cross stitch projects on deck - plus I want to make one more big painted+embroidered patch for my concert vest before my mcr show - but eventualllyyyy I'd like to do this designer's halloween pumpkin rats pattern too

#the next cross stitch project is a mill hill kit with beads... it's a rainbow trout!!!!#I've never worked with beads before so the trout is 50% for love of fish and 50% practice before doing my first big kit #done on linen with lots of backstitch and metallic thread and beads etc etc #it's a really cool scarab and I want to do a good job!!! hence the bead practice round #cross stitch #embroidery

Pride Flag Quilt Top

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH EVERYBODY!!! I recently finished this pride flag quilt top, which I'll be displaying at my local pride event next week!

I wanted each block to be different and eye catching in its own way, so that you don't get bored looking at bland stripes. This project is a labor of love. I did the math on piecing nearly every block, save for the house block on the bottom right corner. That came from a book. I went through quite a struggle doing all the math to make the blocks that are split diagonally by color. Those were the ones that took me the longest to get through. The regular solid color rainbow blocks? I flew through those in two days, lol!
