I had the pleasure of covering the Special Olympics World Games Opening Ceremony along side Times Staffers Wally Skalij and Luis Sinco. I had a more elevated view, but it was pretty spectacular. Check this gallery for all of our pictures.

Job posting: Morning Mix Photo Editor
Do you crave the independence to tackle the most interesting and provocative visual stories of the moment, every day? The Morning Mix, The Post’s must-read early day news source, has an opening for a creative, energetic photo editor. We are looking for someone who is are ready to expand his or her horizons and try new ways of telling compelling visual stories about the biggest breaking events from around the globe on every subject— including culture, entertainment, science, the weather, business, sports, technology, war and peace, foreign and domestic, and everything in between—as well as small gem-like features that crop up every day yet remain unharvested.
You will be expected to bring ideas each night, produce several visual stories per night, most of them of your own design, others assigned. The only demand is that the stories be interesting. There are no “duty stories.” You’ll have two good editors to help you develop your talents in a small group setting where individual attention is central. If you do it right, the exposure is limitless, as is the fun. The hours are 10 pm. to 6 a.m. Sunday night through Thursday night. The ideal candidate should have at least several years of photo editing experience, including the ability to build galleries and write clearly. A proven record of versatility and ingenuity in devising story ideas is welcomed as well. Those interested should contact Tracy Grant ( [email protected] ), Fred Barbash ([email protected] ) or MaryAnne Golon ([email protected]) by July 31.
The Washington Post is looking for a picture editor of The Morning Mix.

In February, I was commissioned by BILANZ, to photograph legendary Hollywood Talent Manager Shep Gordon. Photographing Mr. Gordon was pretty surreal. Writer Sophie Crocoll and I drove to the end of South Kihei Road where we found Mr. Gordon’s house. He graciously invited us in, and opened his life up to us. He was just a joy to photograph, and didn’t seem to mind me asking him to stand here, stand there, look one way, look the other way. He’s really nice, he’s got a super rad house, and from what I hear, he’s an amazing cook too!
Mr. Gordon is also the main feature in Mike Meyer’s directorial debut – a 2014 documentary, Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon.
