PSA there's a scam going around where someone pretends to have accidentally reported your account and tries to get you to contact a fake tumblr support person on discord. Just happened to me and thankfully I saw the red flags and didn't follow through.
Update: I got another one of these, but it was interesting bc it came from an account that followed me a year ago and seemed very much like a real person when I checked their profile. But when I looked closely at their posts, I realized that all the random posts they'd reblogged were from exactly one year ago... And no visible activity since.
Makes me think that these scam accounts were all made a long time ago and are now being implemented for a higher chance of fooling ppl.
So like, can we stop saying that if a person is lonely that they just need more of God?? As if the problem is that you just arenât being spiritual enough? Cuz itâs not.
In the beginning of the world, when Adam was the only human who existed and all He had was God, God Himself said âIt is not good for man to be alone.â and He created another human being for Adam to be with.
We need other human beings. Thatâs how we were made. We are very social creatures and we need interaction with each other.
As a pro lifer, I hate the âkeep your legs closed/stop having sexâ argument I will occasionally see floating around in pro life circles. While technically true, it misses the heart of the pro life cause, it misses the many reasons why a woman would get an abortion, and it places all the blame on women.
The heart of the pro life cause is recognizing the personhood of the unborn. Fetus, baby, whatever term you feel comfortable using. Since the unborn is a person, they inherently have the rights to life and liberty that every other person has. To end their life via abortion is a violation of their human rights and is murder. By telling women to just âkeep their legs closedâ as a response to abortion arguments, this point is missed completely.
Another thing that gets missed in making that argument is environmental factors. Poverty, abuse, failed contraceptives, pressure to abort from the partner or family. There are women out there who get abortions because they have no financial or social support. Married women get abortions, women in long term relationships get abortions, women without a partner or husband get abortions. Treating all women who get abortions as whores causes a lot of unnecessary shame when love and kindness would heal more wounds and change more minds.
Finally, placing the blame of sex on women ignores the responsibility men play in creating a pregnancy. You cannot naturally have pregnancy without the participation of both a man and a woman. By simply telling women to keep their legs closed, you make pregnancy seem like a punishment for having sex when pregnancy is simply a natural result of sex and should be celebrated for it is the creation of new life.
Be kind and love the women who seek abortions and the women who have had abortions. Most of the pro life community on tumblr doesnât have this issue, but I see it in other places online and offline. Encourage people who make these arguments to talk more about the human rights of the unborn rather than heaping blame on the women. The abortion debate has burned many of us - from women being blamed for getting an abortion to pro lifers being called evil for opposing abortion - and it is likely the pro lifers who make that argument had their kindness thrown back in their face and are now bitter because of it.
It feels a bit like Iâm preaching to the choir, as many of the pro lifers on tumblr would agree with this, but I feel like we need the reminder. In the face of evil, in the face of sorrow, in the face of hard-heartedness, be kind.

Please pray for the young men who have lost their sons, their brothers, their friends, and their fathers to suicide;
Pray for those men who are in addiction, in poverty, in hospice, who go through bullying and isolation and domestic abuse, who have been raped and are sexually abused, who are self-harming and contemplating suicide. Who are struggling in their homes, marriages, families; with their health, and their safety. Please pray for all the young men who have lost their lives due to PTSD and insufficient support and trauma and accidents. Please pray for the surviving families, and their male members, whose sons, fathers, and brothers were targeted and taken away from them too soon because of crime and violence and injustice.
Please pray for our young boys and men, for we need them as much as they need us.
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SHIT.
This is not how Tumblr's staff will contact you.
Report and block any account that sends you this crap!
Do NOT click the link these scammers give you, or do ANYTHING they say.
My fatherâs open heart surgery got rescheduled to his birthday, which naturally we have mixed feelings about. Prayers would be appreciated for it all to go well and for work the next day to not be too rough for me.
there's a very concerning type of like....."media diet" that fandom encourages where some people exclusively consume media they know they can talk about other people with (to be included) instead of seeking out new media (to enjoy it) and trying to share it with other people (so that they might enjoy it)
it's so incredibly important to learn to seek out things, to accept recommendations, and to tell the difference between strong recommendations and community obligations
like I don't doubt that the same five cartoons have been popular for coming on ten years now because they're good, but also you should definitely check out art that just doesn't have a fandom attached, if only to enrich yourself and resist the deathspiral of Commodified Media Taste
to be clear that's not saying "don't enjoy popular things" or "don't enjoy things for more than a year" (lmao do you see whose blog this is on) but, as a human being with a beautiful and curious mind, I'm saying you need to enrich yourselfâto feed that beautiful and curious mindâor you'll stagnate and rot
look into art from other cultures, and not just art from other cultures that's popular in your fandom circle. what's accessible to you in your language? are you willing to learn a new language to enjoy more of it?
let art be something that drives you to discover new art, not something that drives you to hide from other art. no artist would ever be happy to hear you saying you've lost your curiosity because of their work
sometimes you gotta find something obscure and dive into it just so that you can say you did. sure that's "hipster," but you should do it anyway. being a bit snobby is so much better than having no opinion, after all
learn to appreciate work that's scrappy, poorly translated, problematic, repulsive to you, unfinished, and all around a complete failure. it doesn't gotta be a multi-million dollar series for you to see yourself mirrored in it and cry your eyes out
