The Internet Archive. So. Many. Servers.
Funny that it is now headquartered in a former Christian Science Church. An entire petabyte in the transept.
Also awesome how the use the old organist's perch to help cool one set of servers.

Another Nina Leen piece. This one from another LIFE magazine series, exploring the Ford Modeling Agency.
I like the anonymizing white censor bar. Looks like court evidence.
From the LIFE magazine spread "GOP Women Party Hard", photographed by Nina Leen.
The other photographs feature young Republican women wrestling in sumo suits. Also more poker.
Davis, Ian. Lemons. 2011. Acrylic on Paper
Ian Davis renders his thin figures on an ant-like scale, within landscapes that seem methodical. His paintings reek of the totalitarian or corporate, and recall the anonymity inherent to both.
This piece is also kind of funny.
Daryl Hall & John Oates - I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) (1983)
When you stay in your room and rage or sneer or shrug your shoulders, as I did for many years, the world and its problems are impossibly daunting. But when you go out and put yourself in real relation to real people, or even just real animals, there’s a very real danger that you might love some of them. And who knows what might happen to you then?

The Queens of the Stone Age - My God is the Sun
New single off of their new album,"...Like Clockwork," to be released 6/4/13.
QOTSA rock they've been a favorite of mind since high school. Also a big fan of Josh Homme's previous riff-laden 'stoner rock' band Kyuss.
Solo recorded by John Frusciante shortly before the death of a friend. Haunting. A classic Frusciante solo, a return to the style of his earlier solo work.
