The Desert Sessions - Johnny the Boy 1998
Volume 2: Status: Ships Commander Butchered is the second extended play by American desert rock collective The Desert Sessions. Recorded in August 1997 at Rancho De La Luna, it was released on February 10, 1998. The EP features eight credited musicians, including Josh Homme (of Queens of the Stone Age), Ben Shepherd (of Soundgarden) and John McBain. It was later re-released with their first full-length album Volume 1: Instrumental Driving Music for Felons in 1998 as Volumes 1 & 2. It features the ten tracks found on the original 10-inch EPs. The album differs from subsequent collaborative Desert Sessions in that it was recorded solely by Josh Homme's band The Acquitted Felons.
