This is my first time doing an offering candle! It is for Loki, my patron and the main god I work with.
I was in iceland(I know!!!🎉) for a week educational trip. We stopped at a geyser which had a Viking themed gift shop. I of course decided to get something for Loki. There were lots of cool things, but they were either very expensive or just not a representation of how I see Loki, or they didn’t really feel right.
So, I tried looking for animal symbols that are associated with them. There was lots of horse merch in the store connected to the one I was in, but still nothing I really liked. I went back to the Viking area, and I saw what’s in the photo above(minus the dressing). It definitely stood out to me.
I decided, alright. I’ll see what the pricing is and consider it if it’s like 20 or 15 dollars or something. I check the price, and it’s 10 dollars. Alright, Loki, this is what I’m buying.
So, I’m home now, and I dressed the candle with oil, then a blend of cinnamon pieces, dried rose petal, crushed red pepper, and paprika. I lit it, and it’s sitting on the nightstand next to me. I’m not putting it on his alter for now, since this is the first time I’m offering a candle and I want to be fire safe.
Update:
I blew out the candle to eat dinner, and the wax swallowed the dressings. Like completely buried. Not sure if this normally happens, but I guess the things I added are staying permanently.

Everyone uses spell jars a lot, but we always run out, and they cost money. Well, I have a new solution.
In forensics, a paper bindle is used to hold trace evidence. It can be anything from hair to cloth with blood or even gunpowder.
Here’s how you make one:
-get a piece of paper and fold it in thirds
-unfold it, then fold it in thirds in the other direction
-again, unfold. You can place any larger objects in the center square at this step.
-fold in the left and right sides, then fold up the bottom flap
-at this point you have a pouch. You can add your smaller objects and powders now.
-fold down both corners of the top flap to make a triangle.
-tuck the top flap into the top section of the flap. You can tape the bindle shut at this stage, but it’s not necessary.
I’ve used this so far for a protection spell. The garlic powder didn’t fall out, even with shaking. In addition, you can use paper colors to match intention, and it’s easy to draw sigils and runes at any stage. It’s also: ✨biodegradable✨. So if your spell works better buried, you won’t be harming the environment.

Ok, so the whole Bagginshield thing comes partially from Oakenshield. Which is because Thorin saved his own life with a piece of wood. So the name Bagginshield suggests that bilbo is his shield. (Not really but bear with me) This can happen one of two ways:
a) Thorin uses Bilbo as a physical shield. Not very safe. Poor Bilbo, he should sue. Can be funny, but ouch.
b) Bilbo is the social shield. This one is more likely. Bilbo is great at scolding royalty and minor gods. He’s certainly better at talking than Thorin.

If you have ever known anyone with a kink for being hit, or beat up, or raped and you're okay with them, you also gotta be okay with the people who's kink it is to do the hitting, the beating, or the raping. At the end of the day, we're adults playing pretend, and that's it.
With every single sub i have the first thing we ever do is establish the safe word (stoplight system), and the non-verbal safe word in case they can't talk for any reason. If I can't tell where the sub is at, I will ask them point blank what is their color, and if they can't give a response, we stop. The goal is to make the other person feel good, including pain, and the most important part us knowing your subs limits and LISTENING to them. I will *never* hurt a sub in a way that they have not explicitly expresssed interest in.

PSA: stuttering in fics
as someone with a speech impediment, all of the people saying that only one type of stuttering is valid are wrong.
stuttering CAN look like this: "t-this is a-an example s-s-sentence"
OR this: "this-this is an example sen-sentence."
OR this: "t-t-t-th-..t-ttttthis is an example sentence."
OR this: "this is, uhm, an example, uh, sentence."
OR this: "this is an example sssssss-sentence."
OR this: "this is an examp-...this an example sentence."
sometimes the sentence won't even come out of your mouth at all.
there are probably many examples i'm forgetting, but that's the point! it usually is a mix of a few of these, but some people do one of them more often than others! some people with speech impediments have certain sounds that they almost consistently have trouble with (for me it's "st").
people with speech impediments also rarely-if ever-stutter whilst they're singing or whispering.
most importantly!!!! people with speech impediments are capable of saying a sentence without stuttering!! it can just be a gamble sometimes.
and if more people could portray the frustration that comes with stuttering and not being able to get words out, i'd be a very happy girl.
(fun fact: sometimes when my mouth won't let me say what i want to say, i get so annoyed that i just yell or grumble out "WORDS.")

I do wish people would stop using stuttering as shorthand for shy characters though. When I had a stutter, you couldn’t get me to shut up to save my life. That’s what caused it. I kept trying to talk before I could fully articulate what I wanted to say.
Yes, it can show lack of confidence. But the filler words, the umm’s and like’s, show that your brain is trying to figure out what it wants to say(typically).
People with stutters aren’t always shy little babies. They’re fully capable.
I just. I was looking at Loki art on Pinterest and I actually fully realized how many people love the same person(?) I do. Like, we all have such different lives, and yet we all found some type of love in the same god.
