Toot toot!
Doodle for the next Nintagious playthrough series! You can find the time-lapse process of this over there, too!
Continued with the extra shading depth here, though not with much different from the Sonic Colors doodle. I think I need to do a simple study on it to experiment with things like line weight (I thought the “middle lines” were too thick on Sonic Colors, but they feel too thin here) as well as just how dark the shading should be (it feels too dark to me, here).
Doodle for a currently-running Sonic Colors playthrough on Nintagious! You can also, of course, check out the time-lapse process of this piece there, too!
I experimented with adding some more depth to my shading, here, but I don’t think it’s entirely there just yet. It sounds like an improvement from what I’ve asked of people so far, though.

I spaced and totally forgot about posting this for some reason, despite having done it something like three weeks ago. If you follow my shenanigans on YouTube you’ve probably seen it already, as I did remember to get the video up in a timely manner.
I don’t have a whole lot to comment on as I actually haven’t had much time to Smash lately, but I do think Ryu turned out to be an interesting pick for a character and I’m glad they made it happen.

I didn’t really buy it when the files for Roy and Ryu were originally found some months ago. A lot of it just didn’t sit right (why would they add a third Marth when people are so upset about Lucina already?) and I wanted to believe Nintendo was too smart to leave files just sitting around like that.
Now that it turned out to be legit I find myself not minding so much. They “Luigi’d” Roy enough for him to really stand out as his own character, I think, and he’s easily my favorite of the three already. On the other hand, Lucas turned out rather boring, with how unchanged he is...

I’ve been sitting on this one for a bit now since I was putting off editing - narrowing 17 hours of footage down to 20 minutes isn’t as easy, interesting or fun as one might imagine (and you probably don’t imagine it being so).
But whatever it’s done now! I had a lot of fun with these guys, mostly because Mega Man 3 is when their entrance poses start being a little, uh, non-posey, so I got to get creative with a bunch of them.

I was already working on a thumbnail for upcoming Splatoon episodes on Nintagious when a friend alerted me that Nintendo is holding a fanart contest, so I went ahead and poured some extra time into overall quality (I usually rush thumbnails a decent amount, ‘cause, you know, they’re thumbnails) so that I could justify submitting this, because why not?
I also recorded the entire process, but I haven’t gotten around to editing the footage just yet, so I’ll have to post that later.

After the completion of the cast of the original Mega Man, it only made sense to move on to Mega Man 2. This time I recorded the entire process to upload to YouTube, which was something I hadn’t thought of until I was already decently far into the first set. I had more than a few technical difficulties with editing the footage, though, so getting these posted took much longer than I intended. That delay paved the way for the full mock-up of Heat Man’s stage above, though, so I’d say it wasn’t a total loss!

10 / 23 Days left until Mewtwo strikes back! ?? Days left until Lucas comes out of Nowhere!
I made some further changes to video editing for Lucas, resulting in an overall cleaner viewing experience, I think. It’s a shame that this series won’t get to benefit from it much, but I just might have some other projects cooking...
Lucas was a ton of fun to play in Brawl, and probably the character I was saddest to see go. Pretty hyped for his return now!

The hype never ends!!
For my return to this project, I tried a few things differently. Most noteworthy is my continued transition from the unorthodox Adobe Flash to Manga Studio.
I also tried a few things with video editing for the upload to Youtube, but most of that went terribly awry, so nevermind that now.

It’s nice to have my Main back.
I had been meaning to post the primary cast as of some nights ago, but kept putting it off as I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do the extra characters or not. Last night I said screw it and organized everything for posting, but then accidentally Time Man, Oil Man and even Bond Man, too, in the following hours. Oops!
Progressin’. Each take about an hour to do, not counting distraction time, so I’m able to justify spending the time on them, for now.
I might have to invent a new pose for Fire Man, since this one looks kind of ridiculous. Looking ahead, it might not be the last time I’ll have to do that, either, since some later Masters just reuse attack animations as their “battle stance” poses. I can think of a few in 3 that do it, just off the top of my head.
I was listening to Mega Man music tonight and then this started happening.
If only I could channel this energy into actual work, you know?
So when I saw this picture for the new Pixar movie Inside Out,
at first I thought the characters were three women and two aliens, but after seeing the trailer I realized the purple and red things were supposed to be dudes. After tracing their faces, I figured out why...
What about the female characters in Monsters Inc.? or Toy Story? or Wall-E? or A Bug’s Life?
Oh, wait, those probably don’t count since then there wouldn’t be a debate.
I hate that this is still going. It’s literally devolved into “they have faces that are shaped like faces!” now. Still ignoring the exceptions that DO exist, too.
Let’s put aside other nonsense for a minute and talk about how someone at Blizzard got paid more than most artists make in a month to “design” this skin.
My eyes want to actually throw up. My EYES.
Even the artists at Square-Enix are going “what the hell?”
This is real, actual injustice, my friends.
