One thing I still dont understand is how I made it this far
Super proud of myself. I've read 3 books this year so far (just finished the 3rd one tonight).
I used to be an avid reader growing up and went to the library constantly. Then I went to college and trauma just sucked the life out of me and I didn't really get back to reading regularly or much at all besides poems in journals. I also read very slowly and don't like reading in public or around other people, so that is limiting.
Read one book in February, one in June, and one in July. I'm happy about this. I want to read more.
Just finished my 4th book of the year!! And I read it in 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited about this!!!!!!
JUST FINISHED MY 5TH BOOK OF THE YEAR!
JUST FINISHED MY 6TH BOOK!
I read this one in only a week!!!!!!! Super proud of myself! And I finished it only 2 weeks after the 5th one!
Just finished my 7th book!!!!!!!!!!!!! This one also only took me about a week!!
just finished my 8th book!!!!! that's it for my 2025 books!!!
Checking back in for 2026! Just finished my 1st book of 2026!!
Just finished reading my 2nd book of 2026!

“They’ve eloped! Isn’t it romantic? It’s a perfect ending.” “No, it’s a perfect beginning.”
ANASTASIA 1997 | dir. Don Bluth & Gary Goldman
I saw something that was like “we put our lives on pause, but getting vaccinated can help us be able to hit play again” and it just bothered me because I’m not just starting again where I left off. I graduated from college in spring of 2020. I’m never going back to living there and regularly seeing my college friends. I’m never getting my graduation ceremony. I’m not getting my last months of college back. They’re gone!
So anyway this post is dedicated to anybody who went through any transitional period during the pandemic. Whether you graduated, lost somebody, moved, or anything else where you will never truly be able to get the last months/year of [whatever] back. It’s so easy to feel like you should be over it by now and just be grateful whenever you can eat in a restaurant and go into stores again but you lost more than that.
I’m just tired of seeing so many things about “going back to normal” when a lot of us don’t have the same “normal” to go back to.
love really is cooking. cooking for and with your friends is an act of love. cooking for and with your partner is an act of love. cooking for YOURSELF is especially an act of love. the care, the tenderness, and affection??? to nourish not only yourself but the ones you love??? those moments you spend??? god its just love thats all i can say
i think there is a very real conversation to be had around fast fashion... ppl get incredibly defensive over it as a topic very fast bc it feels like a personal attack and i understand that! it's true that it is often, in a very real way, the most accessible form of clothing for lower income people (along with thrifted clothes) but the key difference is that lower income people buy a pair of fast fashion jeans and wear them for 2-5 years. that is a huge difference to someone who does 400€ shein hauls every other month to keep up with current trends, uses those clothes like, twice and then uses the classism card when they are held accountable for it. that is just cowardice like you know very well you could afford ethically produced clothes if you wanted to but you don't want to!
