like. some doctors, especially younger ones, seem to understand that the medical industrial complex as a whole has a flippant disregard for patient autonomy, and their solution to this problem is to Be Nicer About It, which obviously does not work

i don't like that thing some doctors do where they tell you where and how they're about to touch you and make you respond before they do it. so much easier to deal with if you can just go silent and let them manhandle you

caretaking is soothing of course but it's really appealing because of the surrender (or forceful taking) of my bodily autonomy

my hair is clean because they decided to wash it. my stomach is full because they decide to feed me. my pajamas are chosen and pulled over my head because they want to see me in them. I'm read a story because I can't get to sleep by myself. I'm woken when they decide I've slept enough. through being taken care of I become an extension of their will more than a person.

however i can't deny that there's a bit of an uncomfortable thrill in how quickly sleep deprivation starts to really get to me. i like how it makes everything feel sharper and more emotional. if i was kidnapped and they wanted me to agree to sleep in the same bed together probably all it would take is like two or three nights of bad sleep to get me to do it
