McCall Family: Where are They Now?
The McCall Family continues to “SLAY”. That was not a word 4 years ago. You’re amazing, and I’m still in awe. #Goals
Did #hashtags exist 4 years ago? Hmm Idk.
Dr. Samori Camara: Where is He Now? Dr. Samori continues to inspire others and promote education and his daughter is so totally cute!
Alyssa Eagleton: Where is She Now?
Alyssa is graduating from Tulane, and will begin her medical studies. Great things to come for you!
Leah Holder: Where is She Now? Leah is graduating from UT Law. Wow! Congrats Leah, and I wish you the best. It’s on now!! Watch out for her.
LEAH HOLDER
University of Texas Plan II Honors Alumnus, Teach for America Corps Member, UT Law Student starting next fall, Published...Author...
Yeah, she's on fire.
I am so very grateful to have her in my life, and to call her my friend. I always brag on her to other people, and she always tells me "Kristine, you know we're birds of a feather, right?" She tries to tell me that if I think she is doing good, and I'm a friend of hers, then I must be doing good too.
Then I say yeah yeah okay, and continue to brag on her.
I'm lost for words. May God continue to bless you, and I can't wait to see what's next! Thanks for being a great example, especially for girls and young women. Thanks for being a shining light for us all, and for being an epitome of Black Excellence!
Leah's book will be in stores and on Amazon.com I will post a link to her book when it becomes available.
“Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives - choice, not chance, determines your destiny.”

Alyssa Eagleton
My, how time flies.
I remember when Alyssa was a little girl: sitting down, reading a book, in her own little world. She reminds me much of myself. Super motivated, loving, kind, smart (she's smarter than me though) and just all around a really cool person. I have to give props to her parents, Lakittah and Rod, as well for raising such an awesome lady!
Alyssa just graduated from Incarnate Word Academy and will be attending Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She will be studying Biology, (Pre-Med) at Tulane this fall 2012. She has done so well in school thus far, and I am excited to see her grow and continue to accomplish great things.
Alyssa, you have grown into a beautiful young lady, and I am an extremely proud big cousin! Do your thing sweetheart, show Tulane what you've got -- Black Excellence!!!
Dr. Samori Camara
Dr. Samori is a revolutionary scholar. He has attended LSU, Xavier, and UT Austin.
You may remember him from the Make it Plain YouTube series that he and Amari created, where they would talk about different issues to spark discussion and get feedback from the community. YouTube it -- they discuss some good stuff!
Dr. Samori established a school in New Orleans called Kamali Academy, where "The world is our classroom". He and his team teach the students academic subjects with a powerful infusion of Afrikan culture and history. Dr. Samori is very inspirational, and has a firm view of himself, his power, and he constantly tries to teach what he knows to be true. Oh, and word on the street is that he is going to be a dad soon. I'm sure he will be a great parent!
In the words of this cool black brotha, "Revolutionary Love!" I wish you much success for you and your students. You are Black Excellence!!!!

The McCall Family
My cousin Rachel and her husband Stewart McCall are great, and their kids -- precious!
The picture speaks for itself. If you don't see a smile of pure happiness on your face when you see this, then I don't know what to tell you. I know no one is perfect, but Rachel and Stewart do a great job as a team raising, teaching, and exposing their kids. They are one of my many examples of a couple doing their very best in life to keep God and family above all, while achieving great things as individuals.
Both are graduates of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and are now doing well in their careers. Stewart is a District Manager at Cook Medical and Rachel is a Business Account Executive at Verizon. They both have earned awards and honors throughout their education and careers.
To all the little 20-somethings, aspire to be like Rachel and Stewart because they are Black Excellence!!!!!!
The quality of being excellent; state of possessing good qualities in an eminent degree; exalted merit; superiority in virtue.
SYDNEY COLSON
I have the honor and privilege to have a friend like Sydney Colson. She is amazing.
She played for Texas A&M and led the Aggies to the title of National Champs in the NCAA 2011 Women's Basketball. Now, she plays for New York Liberty and is doing well and inspiring others through twitter and facebook as she goes along her journey.
I met her when we were freshman -- she was at A&M and I at UT -- she came to UT to get the W against the Longhorns in women's basketball. I met her and her awesome family (Simmie and Simone) through my cousin, Bianca Johnson (who is also amazing) and I've seen her grow and achieve dreams and exceed expectations.
She is definitely an example of Black Excellence. Keep up the great work sweetheart! Much Love
