It's past 1:30am. I'm still sobering up from a night of drinking alone in my room and playing video games with friends. And I'm getting hit pretty hard with the news that an actor on a kid's show that I'm more than Too Invested In died. But you know what? That's life. That's just how things play out.
Pua Magasiva was more than just an actor on Power Rangers. He played a hand in shaping a generation. He was one of the few Pacific Islander actors on American TV. He was one of many actors that got to show kids around the world that you can make a difference, you matter. And I won't forget that.
Power Rangers is often written off for being a garbage kids show. But let's be real. For kids, this shit matters. Each and every season of this show taught kids a lot. Hell for nearly 15 years it taught me. And it's a damn shame to hear about an actor passing away. Maybe I'm just nostalgic and hoping things meant the same, or more, to everyone else. But shit man. It still hurts hearing about someone leaving too soon. Rest in peace man.
