Obesity has become a concern for many people in our culture. The obesity rate among Americans has gotten worse over the years. The topic of weight is very prevalent among people in today's society. Everywhere you look you see people of different weights and appearances. Tall, small, thin, wide, fat and skinny are just a variety of the words we use to describe people. Not many people are completely satisfied with their weight. People are constantly looking for ways to better themselves and improve their physical appearance. In our society, obesity has become a defining problem of American culture. So many people are overweight or obese today due to a number of factors that influence being overweight and obese which include behavior, environment and genetics. Each plays a significant role. Behavior relates to a person eating too many calories while not getting enough physical activity. Environment involves a persons home, work, school, or community that can provide barriers or opportunities for an inactive and active lifestyle. Americans tend to eat high-fat foods, and put taste and convenience ahead of nutrition. Also, most Americans do not get enough physical activity. Last is genetics, which heredity plays a large role in determining how susceptible people are to becoming overweight and obese. Obesity tends to run in families, yet families also share diet and lifestyle habits that may contribute to obesity. Another possibility is the size of food portions. Since the food industry has grown larger, and people are eating out more; marketing has become more concentrated, and larger numbers of new products have been introduced. Price competition has lead manufacturers to increase product size which not only draws attention to the product but increases their profits.

Teenage is a fundamental stage of life that each human being passes through. Some people face this period of their life strongly and positively, while others face many problems and difficulties. This depends on the environment these young adults live in, their parents, their friends, their living conditions, their education, and many other factors. Teenagers face many problems such as becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol, being influenced negatively by their peers, self-image and weight, or even arguments with their parents. Drugs between teenagers is one of the most serious problems, because it causes a change in the behavior of any teenager and a physical change too. Most of the teenagers use alcoholic drinks as a way to escape from their problems. Teenagers might also use them because of their friend's influence. Poor teenagers might use them too, to forget their cold body and hunger. Alcoholism is a society's sickness that affects all people, including teenagers and adults. It is considered as a modern way to have fun. Some teens drink alcohol so they can become popular and well-known in their school. People who drink alcohol think that they can forget their problems and travel far away from reality. I think that drinking alcohol is extremely dreadful because it can turn into a long lasting addiction that can harm you psychologically and physically. In other words, when a person drinks, he/she may lose his/her 5 senses, and won't be able to think. Most teenagers agree that they will follow a peer's decision rather than their parents'. Peers are more influential in a teen's life and tend to have more power than parents. Peer pressure has always been present and will also always be present. It is not a disease or a crime, it is an influence; either a negative or a positive one.

The last day of my high school career has finally approached and I can only imagine how I'll be feeling when I step out of Spellman for the very last time. Throughout these four years, I have felt a lot of urgency about graduating high school. I didn't think that the time to graduate would come soon enough. But now, that time is finally nearing. I cannot believe that it has come this fast. I remember my first days of high school. I was just dying to experience all the new and exciting things that awaited me. From sports to girls to all the partying, I just wanted to know what everything was like. And now that I've done all those things and many more, I am about to embark on a new adventure that will take me to many more new experiences.
Some say that "high school was the best time of my life", just like others say that high school was the worst time in their lives. To be honest, I am not sure which category I fall into. I've had plenty of good times, as well as just as many bad times, in high school. The only thing I can say is that I learned. And the most important thing is that, not just that I learned through the books, but I learned about life and the road ahead of me.From being an inexperienced freshman to a mature senior, things have really changed for me. I started high school as a brash and cocky athlete, dying to conquer the world, which I did not know much about. I will leave high school as a world-weary senior, knowing that there are many dangers to encounter in the real world. Realistically, I do not know what the world out there holds for me. All I can do is enter it with a guarded optimism and hope for the best.

How important is it that I choose the right kind of friends? How will I know if the people I hang around are the kind of people that will lead me down the wrong path in life ? What kind of people do I really want to be seen with and why does it matter ? These are all questions a teenager faces everyday of his or her life. We must all remember that we are ultimately responsible for the choices we make and choosing the right friends can make a life altering impact.
The most important thing to remember when your choosing your friends is to choose people with common interest and goals. Most of us make friends with people that we choose to be friends with for life therefore we must have common interest. Maybe a fishing or hunting buddy or maybe a friend that goes to youth group with you at your church. Another person you can feel comfortable with no matter where you are or what the subject may be. It is important that you choose friends with goals. Kids who don't care who they are or what they may become are very likely to become a prisoner and live a life of crime.
Another important factor in choosing friends is ask yourself will they pass the parent test ? This means will my parents approve of them and their family. I don't mean this in a snob way. If they are raised with parents that have drug or alcohol problems they will not pass the parent test ! You must choose friends that your parents are comfortable with.
In the past year, Beyoncé has sold out the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour while being a full-time mother. Her secret: hard work, honesty and authenticity. And her answer to the question, What would you do if you weren’t afraid? appears to be “Watch me. I’m about to do it.” Then she adds, “You can, too.”
If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.

Today is a day that makes life worth living. If Jesus didn’t raise from the dead, life would be pointless and I wouldn’t believe in anything. With what I’ve seen and how Jesus changed my life, a God who is dead can’t do that. My King is alive, happy Easter everyone, Jesus loves you and He is enough
