I feel like you can tell the outsiders was written by a 15 year old girl. Not because it's poorly written or anything, but ponyboy is actually just so teenage girl coded
hc that dallas hates his middle name and nobody knows it besides johnny. until one day, when sodapop and dallas are hanging out, just talking. sodapop then asks what his middle name is, since he knows all his friends’ middle names besides dallas. dallas refuses for about 5 minutes before he finally gives in and tells him, causing sodapop to erupt in happiness because no.1, dallas winston trusts him enough to tell him. and no.2, dallas tucker winston is the cutest name he’s ever heard in his life.
the way this got me smiling so big because I can imagine even tho Dallas puts a front on he would still loves to make his friends happy especially when it comes to soda.
Notes: ENJOYYYYYY day fic day fic, because I have study and it's an easy one to finish anyway, enjoy gangalang
You were a notably serious personality, well, allegedly, a serious person who had the goofiest boyfriend known to man kind, great, totally checks out if you're someone who believes all the opposites attract and whatnot going on there but most people just didn't get it
Normal people didn't get it, the Greasers seemed to get it Two-Bit always needed someone to keep him anchored and to reel him in, it kinda just made sense for Two-Bit
But for someone who'd known you first? It made no sense, you had barely any patience to the untrained eye, a twitching hand when you were pissed, a swift side eye and scrunch of the nose, but actually, if done right, annoyance can be quite charming
There were maybe two rules you had for charming annoyance, as a theory, point one, they had to be actually somewhat funny doing it, point two, it shouldn't be mean, and if the annoyance is mean, they should be at least good at being mean, being funny and mean
And Two-Bit thankfully, ticked off those two boxes needed for acceptable and charming annoyance, which most people wouldn't guess, to most Two-Bit was just obnoxious, so they didn't give the time to even listen to his jokes, but if they'd listen, they'd know he's pretty darn hilarious
Ponyboy still wondered how in Gods name a serious yet sweet and pretty girl such as yourself actually bagged Two-Bit, and honestly, why would a pretty girl want to bag Two-Bit? He was 90 percent sure Two-Bit might filter himself a little around you but even then he makes it hard to be tolerable
(The curse of me using Ponyboy as someone who doesn't make sense of pretty girls liking greasers, he brought that on himself with some of the content of that book, a thank yew) So hey, next time you hung around the group for the sake of talking to Two-Bit, he figured it wouldn't hurt to ask, hell he knew Two-Bit wouldn't care
"You're pretty West Side" Ponyboy points out as you sit beside Two-Bit with one leg neatly over the other, you nod "I know" You shrug a little bit and Two-Bit grins, he had plenty of pride in your social standings, it entertained him a wild amount in your opinion
"So ya could basically- like, simply have any guy you wanted" Ponyboy says and you raise your eyebrows maybe a little amused? Pony could never tell, all he knew was that Dallas was snickering now and Steve gave him a side eye that told him 'that's so weird to ask' and Johnny had perked out of curiosity
"I wouldn't say any guy but go on" You hum with a small smile and Ponyboy narrows his eyes "So why Two-Bit? He's lazy, loud and annoyin'" Two-Bit started cackling at that, that's part of what you liked about Two-Bit actually
Two-Bit never took anything people said to heart, even if it'd probably hurt the average person that'd probably end up holding those words until they were a bit of a grudge, he was too careless to take anything to heart, he thought life was too much fun to hold any petty grudges over unflattering descriptions that were true
"Someone's been waitin' to shoot off that list, huh Pony?" Steve says sarcastically with an eyeroll and as Ponyboy goes to defend himself against the very true allegation you speak up "I can answer your question" You say with a simple shrug before giving a smile
"He makes me laugh" You say dryly with a little head jerk towards Pony like it was all simple "He makes me laugh?" Pony repeats slowly with a crinkled nose while Two-Bit laughs "Dang right I make her laugh" And everyone shakes their head that little bit but hey, you just spoke the truth
Brent Comer truly broke my heart during the final table scene at the matinee yesterday! 😭
He, of course, turned away from his brothers and was trying SO hard to not start sobbing! 🥺 Like do you guys know that feeling where you feel like your about to let out a sob and you pull your stomach in and basically hold your breath in try to stop it from escaping?!
Ya that’s what he did, and it was EASILY noticeable too!! Like he pulled in his stomach in so hard! 😭 And oh…his little scrunched up, crying face!! 😭😭
The Curtis brothers but it's Sodapop and Darry seeing Ponyboy walk to get his diploma during graduation and all they see is a fourteen year old kid who loves to read and dream
Do you ever think Darry just runs people over? Not with a car, but after a long day. Both jobs. Hes tired and not paying attention. He walks into the kitchen, not taking in any of his surrounding, ponys right in front of him and Darry just keeps walking. Like it does not register to him at all that a person is there and poor pony is just not ready for it. He goes down like a bowling pin. And Darry doesn't even notice and just continues to head got the fridge.
