something something dad who babies you when you’re sick. makes you special tea with cold medicine in it, blows it off and spoonfeeds it to you. speaks to you in soft, simple words that you thought was a little patronizing at first until your splitting migraine hit and you desperately needed that gentle rumble of his voice. keeps the lights in the house low and doesn’t make you get up to grab anything— not even to get the remote from across the room. Rotates the damp towel on your head every hour or so and gives you kisses on every part of your body that aches.
