When Mac Met Cheese pops up at The Endurance.

Undoubtedly one of the best street food stalls in London, When Mac Met Cheese will be serving up the city’s best macaroni & cheese is set to take a month long residency at one of Soho’s greatest pubs.

Launching tomorrow, this pop-up will be open Monday to Saturday offering up their special take on mac & cheese, macancinis, sweet coleslaw and deep fried Oreos.

No bookings are required, you just turn up eat, drink and enjoy.

You’d be a damn fool to miss out on this.

Sometimes, on occasion, a McDonald's breakfast is called for. All kinds of wrong but the bacon, sausage, egg, cheese & hash brown, in a wrap was calling me.

Bought these based on Woody Harrelson's character 'Tallahassee' love of the Twinkie in Zombieland where he spent most of his time hunting down these "spongy, yellow, delicious bastards" in a post-apocalyptic America - figured we had to try. 

Verdict? Biggest sugar rush ever but damn good.

What? 'The Devastator' burger (3 x 6 oz patties, 200g pulled pork, 6 rashers applewood smoked bacon & 6 slices American cheese)

Worth it? If you are looking for a gut-busting burger and can stomach the shear size of it, you deserve a handshake and a wide-berth. Well worth a try.

The Marksman Pub.

We'd heard terrific things about The Marksman which is situated on Hackney Road. The perfect pitstop after a stroll down Columbia Road flower market on a Sunday we were told. Rumours were rife that it offered one of the best roasts in East London. So we finally gave in and sampled for ourselves. 

We casually wandered down Columbia Road having bought some fresh herbs and chilli plants before looping round to the pub at the end of the market. Arriving earlier than planned, we were kindly seated by the enigmatic and friendly staff who were more than happy to offer their recommendations which included the fish of the day or a good gastro staple, stew. 

We were there for Sunday roasts, so we had the roasts. Opting for the slow-roasted pork belly (above) and the matured, rump beef we weren't at all disappointed. The portions were generous and certainly filing, we left feeling happily satisfied but annoyed we missed out on the puddings.

Would we go again? Yeah, probably.

When Mac Met Cheese.

Meet Sammy, he's the culinary master behind Camden-based food stall, When Mac Met Cheese. He's our new best friend.

You may have guessed, he specialises in Macaroni & Cheese and daaaaamn, he's ever so good at it. Featuring a simple yet delicious menu with a variety of "MACS" available, you won't be disappointed.

We feasted on the highly-recommended, 'Carlos the Cactus' which was cooked fresh and right in front of us with mature cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan and jalapenos (you can also add cherry tomatoes and rocket - we did). The result, a generous serving of flavours masterfully combined to create a truly tasty offering.

It's totally possible we will be going back to get our fix of the other dishes which include the 'Mums classic' (mature cheddar, red leicester, parmesan and a sprinkle of nutmeg), 'Cheesy green afro' (vintage stillton, mozzarella and broccoli) or the 'Make mine carnivorous' (a choice between bacon lardons and free range chicken). NOM.

If you still have room for more, you NEED to give the deep fried Oreos a try. They're magnificent - dipped in pancake batter fried, they are very addictive!
