My papaw was a “farmer” (he raised cows, some other animals, and had a garden patch but his main job was refrigeration), and he looked nothing like this. Not unless it was church or something. He was always wearing old work clothes, his arms were covered in scars from barbwire, his boots were always dirty. He was always either taking care of the animals or getting dirty working on his tractors. This isn’t “farming” this is someone who say some show on CMT between blocks of Florida Georgia Line and decided they wanted that.

But it’s also dangerous if there’s too much. Areas with excessive mana were wince recognized by physical manifestations of Mana that looked almost like jellyfish. Those Manasprites still remain but they aren’t enough to keep people away. Excessive mana can result in Mana Sickness, mutations that vary from mild changes in physical traits to metamorphic transformations into monstrous abominations.

So, to keep people safe, the Mana Safety Authority (Aritrova’s organization for Mana safety) places signs around areas containing excessive amounts of Mana. They are there to warn and teach people about the consequences of messing around with Mana

My setting has guns, which are the one thing I can draw, here's a few

NOTE: It says "Federal Army" instead of "United Army" since I made this before the change. It's still Federal Army since I'm too lazy to change it

Finally continuing the Octonauts Guns thing

Paani- I'd say he's carrying a shotgun as well, shotguns are good for dealing with whatever threat he may face

Calico Jack- Like Kwaazi he's sticking with a flintlock or blunderbuss purely because it's the pirate way

Professor Natquik- A pistol, seeing as he may be German it could be a Walther of some sort like a PPK or even a P38 (I'm not giving him a Luger, it's a cool gun but it's got the Nazi thing attached to it)

Min- Well this is a tough one, I could give her a Chinese copy of basically any gun seeing as that's a trend in Chinese weapon production, even today. I'd say she carries a pistol just for personal protection, model doesn't matter, whatever works.

Tracker- A rifle, maybe a hunting rifle, seeing as he's Canadian and a Polar Bear Scout I could see him carrying a L1A1 Self Loading Rifle.

Octonauts and the guns they carry

Captain Barnacles- a Webley revolver more than likely, he also strikes me as a saber guy too

Kwazii- probably a flintlock pistol or blunderbuss even if it is outdated it still fits his whole pirate thing

Dashi- something easy to conceal, like a pocket pistol

Shellington- some sort of shotgun, or if not an actual gun maybe a stun gun or tranq gun

Tweak- an AR with just about any optic, a forward grip, and a laser or flashlight

Peso- he’s not carrying a gun, i genuinely don’t see him as a gun carrying type

Professor Inkling- likely some sort of shotgun or revolver

Ranger Marsh- this guys got a collection somewhere I guarantee it. He wakes up in the morning and picks out his piece like it’s a tie

I need some help, I got a worldbuilding project taking place in a general 20th century inspired setting. I need a term for "transgender" that works in a world where gender dysphoria seems to be poorly studied and understood. Not due to bigotry but due to sort of lack of interest since many people experiencing it hardly seem to open up about it. Anti Queer bigotry is relatively uncommon in this world and I'm struggling to find a historic term that isn't designed to insult queer folk in someway.
