Why people hate Lapis so much?
Do not get me wrong, I also think she is an asshole and her suffering does not excuse her behaviour, but also, she is an asshole that gets away with her shitty behaviour just like the rest of the gems on the show. She just acts like everyone else. She fits the status quo
The gems destroyed the Pizza place and never apologized
The gems mess with ghe energy of a town and they did not evwn care to help a little.
The gems abandoned Steven while he was transforming into a cat monster
The gems treated Greg like shit blaming him for Punk diamond decisions
Did I forgot how Amethyst transform into Rose to torture him? (I love Amethyst and I love how much she grown up since then, but cleaning a garage is not an apology)
The gems know that a conscient and not corrupted gem was trapped on a mirror and they did not free her, and even worse, Pearl tried to used it as a tool to teach Steven.

The gems leaving the rubies floating on space, the rubies were not a threat, they only wanted to find Jasper and never cared about hurting the earth neither humans. Kicking the rubies asses and bubbling them would be kinder, heck, even the Crystal gems could show them that life on Earth is better than Homeworld and would be better than “We claim that we are against murder, anyway let’s murder the rubies”.
Pearl and Pink diamond feeding Amethyst insecurities while claiming how her kindergarden was an horrible place of death, even though that kindergarden was made and requested by Pink Diamond.
Jasper beat up, almost killed and destroy the self esteem of Amethyst. (I mentioned Jasper cause the fandom excuse her behaviour)
The many times Jasper beat up Steven
Jasper grabbing Lapis (look, I also have buff and strong friends, and although they can be rough, they would stop doing something that I do not like, Lapis show many ocassions how she did not like how Jasper grabbed her and Jasper kept doing it).
The gems leaving Bismuth bubbled fearing for Steven safety, but they were not worried about Steven hanging out with Lapis, Peridot or Navy, although they know Bismuth much better and longer than any of the three. Garnet could use her future vision to know if Bismuth was sorry for her behaviour, something that was clearly shown when Steven free her, and HE ONLY KNEW HER FOR ONE DAY.
Pink Diamond surely get away with everything she did. She bubbled Bismuth for proposing the Breaking Point, and then like an hypocrite she faked her shattering. And also she kept Bismuth bubbled many years after the rebellion even though she inspired herself with Bismuth plan. But appearantly nobody on the show brings that up.
Pink diamond made her Amethyst, Jaspers and Nephrites fight her Crystal gems, The Amethyst and Jaspers did not even asked to be born, they were made to serve Pink diamond. All those gems were Pink diamond responsabilities. But appearantly it was ok cause she was inspired by Garnet to save all gems by making her two armies fight between each others.
Pink diamond used her powers to gag Pearl instead of trusting her, you know, the gem that was sacrificing everything, even her own life for Pink Diamond did not deserved that kind of trust. “But they were equals”.
Steven possesing Lars and everyone gets mad at Lars and not Steven.
Steven leaves Lars and the Off Colors unchecked on Homeworld for weeks while he was having vacations and playing on a band, Cause being stuck on a dirty cave on an alien planet surrounded by killers robots it is not that urgent. (And Steven did not even cared about finding Lion for all those weeks)
Steven ditch the responsability to inform Lars parents about their son, cause helping Mayor Dewey with his campaign was obviously more important (also, all these weeks of playing in a band and having fun, obviously Lars parents did not need to know about their son, even though Steven could visit Lars anytime he wanted)
Garnet did not tell Steven that Blue diamond was on Earth, Did Steven be that stupid to go see Blue diamond?
If Steven was not an hypocrite (you know with the I sacrifice myself to save you all and redeem my mother sins), he could send Lars to the Earth via a bubble.

Like I get people disliking Lapis, but she only fits the status quo of the show. Everyone is an asshole that get away with their shitty behaviour
