okay. so. i wanna. talk about slashers and the somewhat toxic aura surrounding ”(y/n)” just like any other viral fandom.
TW: r*pe, non-c*n, in*est, m*urder, etc.
there is no shame in having a crush on a fictional character, fuck it, i kinda endorse that, it makes you happy. that’s good. but it’s different when you project crimes into yourself in the name of a fictional serial killer.
there’s nothing wrong with saying “ i wouldn‘t mind if myers killed me “ if you don’t see something wrong with it. BUT. there is something wrong with sexualizing crime so much, that you endorse the crime IN SOUND MIND. some examples of this would be fictional, non canon stories where a slasher or monster takes a person, usually the reader, and rapes and kills them.
it is okay to read and enjoy this, to a certain extent. but this does not mean it is okay and acceptable to society.
another, even worse example, is a character, usually the reader or a “blank” person, making the antagonist their own victim. these stores usually come with knife play, violent rape, and other explicit topics.
enjoying what you do should be okay. but when YOU are actively seeking content that CONDONES and ALLOWS actual REAL people to rape, murder, and assult other people, criminals or not, it draws a line.
the last primary issue i have would be “sister x slasher” fics. usually sister, hardly brother, yet that does not matter.
DO NOT SUPPORT INSESTIOUS RELATIONSHIPS BECAUSE YOU LIKE A FICTIONAL CHARACTER.
Slaughter High is a really fun slasher film. I think it probably has the creepiest school interiors I have ever seen in a movie with some really fun kill sequences. I think the film could really benefit from a Vinegar Syndrome treatment and get a cleaned up blu-ray treatment. I was rooting for the killer to go ham the whole time and my boy Marty Rantzen delivered. Unproblematic king.
