my parents are coming to visit next week and I'm very excited to see them but their visits also make me anxious bc my mom can be super judgy about our messy house (even tho this is the first time in literal decades that the woman has been able to handle her own messy house and it's totally bc she only lives with my dad and v few cats now)

and I have to ask my dad for help with so many things while he's here even tho they're only here for a week and they're supposed to be getting more of their stuff from our basement (i.e., the belongings from those decades of mess that literally never got unpacked the first time we moved)

and I just know it's gonna be emotionally exhausting and then I have to travel back 15 hours with them in the car 🫠

people still go around acting like they've done something good in order to be able bodied and healthy. that they worked for it, that it's due to their moral fibre or good upbringing or self control. they genuinely, on some level, believe that they are a good person solely based on the strength of their physical abilities. they will resist the fact that it is largely down to chance that they were able to maintain such health. whatever they think they've built from scratch, the building blocks were already handed to them. not because they're more worthy of it, just by luck. and they really think they're worth more based on that sheer luck. i've met disabled people worth a hundred of the healthiest ableds alive.
