Reasons to watch Voltron: Legendary Defender

there’s a black badass princess 

it’s an animated show full of pocs

great animation and fight sequences

hilarious comedy

no unnecessary romantic subplot

black princess who’s as kind as she is intelligent

lauren montgomery and joaquim dos santos who worked in both atla and lok are the showrunners

good storyline

asian male leads

beautiful black princess who isn’t hypersexualized

a technical genius whose gender seems to be complicated and is never actually especified by anyone (crossing my fingers!)

all male characters love, care and protect one another and not once do they basically say ‘no homo’ 

badass handsome fat guy who doesn’t feel self conscious about his weight and doesn’t apologize for wanting to eat

black princess as a commmander, doesn’t usually fight but can hold her own when need be

there are female aliens WITHOUT breasts!

characters with ptsd

two male characters that wear red and blue respectively (you know what this means)

asian male lead has a prosthetic arm

black princess who no one hesitates to listen to when she gives orders save only when they feel it would put her at risk

rivalry between two males is more friendly than aggressive and has nothing to do with a woman

no hypermasculinity from any of the male characters

will make a transphobic angry when people start making headcanons about the technical genius’ gender

will make a white male angry when they see a black princess treated respectfully and as a person

will make a white feminist angry because it’s full of pocs who just happen to be male (can we seriously stop pretending a white female as a lead is more progressive than a poc male lead, especially an asian male lead)
